Pick up and drop off is included from hotels and apartments within the range of central Athens area. Your location details are required during the booking process (hotel name or apartment full address) If your hotel/apartment is not accessible by the type of vehicles we use (e.g street narrowness, pedestrian area) we will appoint a nearby meeting point for picking you up. In case that your location details has not been provided 48 hours prior to departure we will assign a centrally located meeting point of our choice for picking you up. You will receive an email from us us with the exact pick up time 24 hours prior departure. No changes can be made to the pickup plan once it has been allocated and finalized. Pickups from Ports/Airports are offered only to the Private tour option. Please notice that pick up commerce starts 40-50 minutes prior departure.

Of the 9 hours estimated for this excursion, at least 5 are spent driving to and from Delphi, but you get a stop each way and the scenery is beautiful. Delphi itself was really interesting and very scenic, with a good museum where your guide sets the stage before taking you to the archaeological site. Spring is definitely the best time to visit both because of lower temperatures and lighter crowds, but also because there were wildflowers growing across the site. Our Delphi guide was a local who knew a great deal about the history of the site. Our tour lead, Panayota, and driver, Alexander, were both great and made the drive pass quickly by talking about Greek mythology and history of the places we passed through on the way.

Delphi was definitely worth visiting! Wish we had extra time to hike to the top of the ruins, they only take you up about halfway and then give you 30 minutes on your own. I would have needed at least an hour to get up and back down to the top. You are also taken to a restaurant for lunch on the way back. The restaurant was good, but they passed a small town that they said was too 'touristy' in order to go to the other restaurant. Well, I AM a tourist, i LIKE visiting those touristy towns!!! Looked really cute, wish i could have stopped.

They picked us up right at our hotel door and delivered us back there in very nice and comfortable transportation. At Delphi we had a very knowledgeable guide who was an expert in the area. Fun local spot for lunch where we enjoyed getting to know our fellow companions.

The Sprinter van was comfortable. The driver’s companion gave us a condensed refresher on the gods. Our guide at Delphi did an incredible job and we thought every was interesting! Definitely recommend this trip!

We enjoyed our tour with Catarina as our lovely guide on the way up to Delphi and Evi taking over at the ruins/museum — both were knowledgeable and very pleasant and engaging. The tour itself is well-planned and executed; would definitely recommend to others. Delphi is an outstanding experience and the travel there is through the beautiful countryside with an experienced driver. We were lucky enough to have snow through the village of Arachova and sun on the Delphi hillside.
Don’t hesitate to book the tour — it’s like going on a tour with guides that become like family.

Got an early start and drove out of the city towards Delphi. It takes a bit to get out of the traffic but the countryside is beautiful. The mountains are especially incredible. The tour and guide at Delphi was top notch and the weather was perfect. Lunch at the local taverna was excellent and seeing the snow on the way back was quite a site. Highly recommend and would definitely take this tour again

The Delphi tour was wonderful. Lili was very kind and had great knowledge, which made the tour even more special. The places we visited are 100% worth it. Delphi is a beautiful place with stunning landscapes.
The place where we stopped for lunch was lovely, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this tour without hesitation.

Good one. Especially if you find Elena as a guide. Lucky us! Worth checking in Hellenic Cosmos in Athens prior to the tour for an VR simulation of what it looked like - the museum does not provide this.

Great experience to see magical Delphi. Athena our primary guide was knowledgable and very friendly. The small group was conducive to chatting with fellow travelers - we were a bonded group by the end. The Delphi site and museum are excellent! The food at the restaurant was tasty. Just be aware that due to the distance from Athens and traffic, you will spend about 4.5-5 of 8 hrs in the van. Nevertheless, worth it for us.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Both our tour director Iliana and local Delphi guide George were super professional and knowledgable. The Delphi sites and museum were gorgeous! The tour van was very nice and comfortable, with usb chargers in each row. And the restaurant where we ate was phenomenal! Highly recommend!

Our bus guide, Katerina, was wonderful. For me this was the perfect size group (17). I wish the ticket buying had either been done before or was more efficient but this seems to be common. Our hide in the museum and the for the starting the site was Helen (Helena?) and she was a little brusque. While I appreciated that that discouraged endless questions, I thought she was a little dismissive of the two people in our group who told her they moved slowly. And she seemed to be scolding children in the museum in Greek lol.
The one thing I would change would be to stop in Arachova, not just drive through. It looked like such a charming town and I don’t think o was the only one who would have liked to spend even :30 there.
Lunch was fun and the tour exceeded my expectations.

The drive takes most of the time 5 hours. Our driver just drove - not a tour guide or host…they were agitated in the Athens traffic. The Delphi guided tour was amazing- took about 2 hours and the only way to see and learn in that time. Worth it but a lot of car time so may not be for everyone.

We had a wonderful day visiting Delphi. The views were amazing. Our guides were superb. Our tour guide at the site was especially outstanding. She took her time at the museum filling us in on the details AND her English was very easy to understand. We had a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant at New Delphi. The only thing that could have been better was the long wait in line at the site to get our tickets. We don't know what the problem was but it was wasted time. If the tickets could be purchased in advance for the group it would be better. Still, I would highly recommend the tour and it has made me want to go back to Delphi!

This was a good experience and Delphi was neat, but we would have preferred to rent a car and do this trip on our own. The tour did not adhere to the expected schedule so we were starving for lunch and had to cancel our dinner reservations because we did not get back at the time that was communicated to us.

A small rock slide happened so there was a delay in entering the park - the trail to the stadium was closed for safety reasons. There are quite a few stairs, but it was manageable - nothing like the Acropolis! The views were fantastic! Highly recommend as a once in a lifetime trip. And yes, there were cats and one friendly dog.
They have a cafe and a gift shop and a patio seating area. Thank goodness the gift shop has umbrellas for purchase since it starting raining at the end of our tour!

Throughout the ride, Vespina variously entertained, diverted, explained, and discussed the Oracle, the trip, and Greece. She is a perfect tour leader in her knowledge and talent. And, the Delphi site did not disappoint; it is both extensive and impressive even though we could not visit the closed off Temple of Athena Pronaia. Highly recommend Getaway Tours, Viator's local operator.

Although the tour was good, the van had very small seats. The tour claimed "small group" which usually means 8 persons. Here it apparently means 18-20. Viator notifies customers of any changes or pickup details less than 24 hours before the tour. The free cancellation ends 24 hours before the tour time. So even though they may know, months in advance that your pick up point cannot be at your hotel, you won't hear about it until it is too late for free cancellation. The pickup point is chosen for their convenience, not your.

Long day but very fun and interesting. Athena was a great guide picking us each up at our hotels, keeping us entertained during the long drive, providing informative stops and a delicious lunch break in Delphi. We had another guide for the museum and archaeological site and she was also very knowledgeable.

First, plan on a 11+ hour day, not 9 hours. When they say it starts at 8:00 am, that means they need to pick up the last group by 8:00 am. So our pick up time was 7:30 am and then we didn't get back to our hotel until 7:00 pm.
The guides were pretty good. The guide on the bus was nice, but she didn't bother using a microphone until someone kept saying they couldn't hear her. The bus ride is long, hilly and with lots of twists and turns. Our bus driver was pretty aggressive. So if you get motion sick easily this might not be for you.
I really liked our guide at the site but she spoke very quickly so was sometimes hard to follow/understand. We were given headphones and she had a microphone, so there were not issues with not being able to hear her. I agree with another reviewer that they should have people buy tickets online ahead of time. Luckily the line wasn't too long when we got there.
I'm not sure they do the tour in the same order every time, but we did the museum, then the site and then lunch before driving back. This put lunch at around 3:00 pm. So make sure you have a good breakfast before you go.
About half our group opted to eat the restaurant. It had a nice view and everyone was happy with their meals except those that got lamb (or maybe it was goat). We all just paid for our own meals. Those who opted to eat at the restaurant only had about 15 minutes after the meal to walk around. There were lots of other options for places to eat for those that don't want to eat with the group.
I typically book private tours, but for this I decided to try a group tour and thought it was pretty decent for the price. I saw another review complained about the price and said there were others that were cheaper -- but I'm not sure those had guides that walked you around the site.
