Each year in spring more than seven million tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths bring an incredible amount of colors and fragrances to the 32 hectares of Keukenhof, the famous flower park in the province of South-Holland. The gardens are part of the 15th-century estate of Slot Teylingen and used to be the castle's kitchen garden. In 2026 the park opens its doors from the 19th of March until the 10th of May. Our driver will pick you up and bring you to Keukenhof in the city of Lisse, a 45-60-minute ride. Pleasantly Surprised.

I will be honest. I wasn't necessarily looking forward to this excursion, but my wife really wanted to do it. I will say, though, it blew me away. I never thought I would see so many varieties of tulips in such a beautiful setting. I am now really glad I went and I would recommend this to anyone. However, I know the tulip season is short, so you have to hit it just right. The down-side to that is that it was really crowded (like DisneyWorld on opening day crowded)

Amazing experience!

So glad we opted for the ride outside of the city. Eloise was a fantastic guide! The scenery was gorgeous and the cheese at the farm was so delicious. Lots of great historical information was shared and we also got a little exercise. We highly recommend this tour and would definitely do it again.

Definitely a great trip experiencing the iconic sights of the Netherlands, canals, windmills and tulips. Loved the canal cruise, commentary was great with morning tea options to buy. Great thay we had our own time to do Keukenhof, amazing. Buses were clean and tidy with safe drivers (considering the traffic they had to negotiate). Well done. We would use this Hop on-Hop Off provider again.

Sipko our guide was extremely friendly, spoke English well, gave a clear directions, and ensured our safety. He showed interest in where we are from, Canada. He was well versed in Amsterdam and area history. Time very well spent in the countryside, that you normally wouldn’t when visiting the area. The Apple Pie stop was also a highlight.

Cruising in style

The Salon style boat was the perfect choice for the chill of the morning. Its transparent roof allowed us to better view the homes along the canals. Its electric motor was quiet and fume free. The Guide/pilot was competent and very knowledgeable of the local history of Amsterdam. I would thoroughly recommend Captain Dave's Boat Tour to everyone.

A great way to see Amsterdam! Our tour guide was fabulous and shared lots of history and facts. Only downside was that at times riding through the traffic was stressful. You were disconnected from the group at times as you had to wait back if you didn't make the lights at intersections, then catch up and rejoin the group.

This boat tour was absolutely fabulous! The service was excellent and the food was delicious! There are three choices for each course - fish, meat, veg, and for dessert there was fruit, cheese, or cheesecake - and there is a bathroom on the boat. We would recommend this tour a thousand times. After a few blips with scheduling, the customer service really stepped it up and made things right. I’m glad because it was a great little canal cruise. Beautiful, small group setting. Showed us a lot, learned some things and captain was fun. Make sure you get the booking details confirmed -but anything that didn’t work right through scheduling for this trip, they did want to make it right.

Perfect Way to See Amsterdam

We had a relaxing, informative, and comfortable cruise on the canal and absolutely loved it. Our time in Amsterdam was cut short by flight delays but we did this our first night in town and got to see and enjoy so much. And the knowledgeable team gave us a few recommendations for making the most of our time in Amsterdam as well. Unforgettable evening, highly recommend. It was also less crowded at some times than others - we were almost crammed on an earlier scheduled tour but were so glad we waited for the next one to enjoy a more comfortable ride.
