Great food, better experience

Great way to see Amsterdam. It was great to sample Dutch cheese, fish, bitterbals and apple pie. The day was capped off with a canal tour with some tasty Dutch liqueur. Alda is a fantastic hostess, educating us and making sure everyone was taken care of.

We had a great day with our tour guide Tony, he is very passionate about Amsterdam and happy to share information and answer any questions. We enjoyed all the locations that we visited and were happy with the time allowance for each stop. Great tour if you want to learn about the history of The Netherlands and visit a few locations in one day. Tony also provided other suggestions to visit/see while in town. Thanks Tony and our bus driver Peter who kept us save and drove us around all day.

Do yourself a favor and make this your first activity when you arrive in Amsterdam. It is the perfect way to be introduced to the city, the culture, the history and the food. Roman is engaging, energetic, and so knowledgable. We saw sights that we would not have found on our own. We had a broad range of food tastings that hit the spectrum of local cuisine. Each stop was curated and well researched. Not only was the tour itself excellent, but Roman made dinner reservations for us at an Indonesian restaurant that we loved. And he shared many recommendations for activities beyond his tour. Worth every penny. Worth every minute. Go see Roman (and his team comes highly trained and recommended as well)

Fun and relaxing

Fun and quirky guide through the canals of Amsterdam. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had to ask several places before we actually found where our tour was because there are several different companies using the same marina/docks, but still easy to find.

A must do tour!

Our guide, Todd, was very personable and fun to be with. He introduced us to many Dutch foods. Walking from location to location we received history facts. Each location to sample food was picked for its high quality and unique atmosphere. All establishments were family owned businesses. We went to places we would not have gone ourselves because we did not know about them. It was nice walking the city together. Highly recommend this company and Todd.

Fun Canal Cruise

I have done many canal tours in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Harlem and this tour was a step above most. The guide was fun and personable and kept our wine glasses full. The cheese was yummy and the boat was a good combination of inside and outside (had nice cover from the sun). The only negative would be how loud the motor was, it interfered with our enjoyment of being on the canal. It would be nice if Amsterdam instituted the "only electric motors" requirement that Haarlem has. It makes a big difference. So until then, you will have to put up with a really loud motor.

Very fun & delicious Amsterdam food tour

Our family of 2 adults and 1 teen had a super fun time with Stephanie our guide, and one other couple. It was great to be a small group. We walked to six different stops in a vibrant and colorful Amsterdam neighborhood. The snacks/food that we sampled were all local and different than what we eat at home (except for the cheese, but it was better cheese than US cheese ;)). We also had beer/wine/drink of choice at almost all the places, also included. Stephanie our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, taught us some cool Amsterdam/Dutch info, and easygoing. We had a great time!

Great Food Tour with Todd!

We had an incredible food tour in Amsterdam with our guide, Todd, who is originally from Wisconsin and has lived in the city for 13 years. His deep knowledge of both Dutch culture and American perspective made the experience especially engaging and easy to understand. Our tour began with a walk through the vibrant flower market, followed by a stop at Henri Willig for some outstanding cheese. From there, we sampled a classic Dutch specialty—herring—which Todd explained in a way that made it approachable even for first-timers. We also enjoyed traditional Dutch fries with a variety of sauces, which were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights was Melly’s Stroopwafels, served warm right out of the oven—easily a favorite moment of the tour. We wrapped up the experience at a cozy local pub, which was the perfect ending. Throughout the tour, Todd pointed out key landmarks, shared fascinating insights, and patiently answered all of our questions. He also made sure to stop frequently for photos, which we really appreciated him taking our group shots. We saw so many unique sites and enjoyed the information. Todd provided. His ability to interpret cultural nuances from a fellow American perspective made everything more meaningful and easy to follow. What are the most important things we learned was the walking, biking, car, and tram etiquette so we didn’t get run over, ha ha . I would highly recommend this food tour with Todd—it was a perfect blend of great food, local history, and excellent company.

Yummy Amsterdam

Abby was a great guide, enthusiastic and fun. We went to local places and all the food was great. I liked the cheeses the most and my husband loved the sausage and herring. The surprise dessert of French toast and coffee ice cream was a delight. I highly recommend a Sherpa tour!

Andrea was our amazing, informative, wonderful guide. She provided a very complete history of the red light district as well as of the city of Amsterdam. Pointed out key buildings and explained events that have shaped the city today. She provided a matter-of-fact descriptions of the historic and current laws regarding the red light district. Stops for pancakes, jenever, croquettes and stroopwaffles added appreciation for the area.
