We did three tours in Amsterdam and this one was my favorite! Our tour guide Aileen was energetic , fun, and knowledgeable. If you love food and want to learn some interesting facts about Amsterdam I highly recommend it. The last hour of the tour is a canal ride on a beautiful wooden boat. The cherry on top!

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about both Amsterdam and the various foods we tried. She was also very attentive to the people in our group (three couples plus my son and I) and fostered a friendly, relaxed atmosphere within our pack of strangers.

Be open minded about what you’re going to eat! I was a little nervous but everything was so delicious!!! People are crazy if they don’t do a food tour here!! Our tour guide was great!!!

Our tour started with apple pie, ended with Dutch croquettes, and was filled with good food and company in between. Our tour guide, Elena, was very sweet and knowledgeable. She shared a lot of history about Dutch food and some of the Jordan District in Amsterdam. She engaged everyone in the group and created situations in which we engaged with each other across the group. This was very useful to us as the canal cruise is in pretty tight quarters. I didn’t love all the food, but I didn’t dislike any of it. That’s just how Dutch food is; good but not great. But, as a tour, I’d recommend this one, especially if Elena is your guide.

Relaxing stroll through one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Amsterdam with tastings of regional delicacies at local spots. An incredible way to spend the afternoon in Amsterdam, especially if you are looking for something chill to do that is not in the typical “touristy” area. Gerard l our guide was AMAZING. A lifelong-local, Gerard really added to the experience by adding personal anecdotes and taking time to answer questions throughout. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes.

If you're a foodie visiting Amsterdam, this 3-hour food tour is an absolute must! From the very first bite to the last, this tour was a delightful adventure through the city’s best eateries, showcasing a mix of traditional Dutch flavors and modern twists.
We started in a charming, bustling neighborhood where our guide, Gerard, a local expert, immediately made us feel welcome. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but his passion for Amsterdam’s culinary scene was contagious. He took us to hidden gems, offering insights into the history behind each dish, which added a personal touch to the experience.
We began with apple pie - paired perfectly with a strong Dutch coffee. It was the ideal sweet start! We also tried haring (raw herring), a quintessential Dutch snack. It sounds daring, but it was surprisingly refreshing and paired well with the pickles and onions.
The highlight was definitely the artisanal cheese stop. I’ve never tasted such rich, creamy gouda! The variety was mind-blowing—aged, smoked, and even truffle-infused cheeses. You could really taste the craftsmanship. Along the way, we also sampled local bitterballen (crispy meatballs) on a canal cruise.
Each stop was thoughtfully curated, showing off the diverse flavors that make Amsterdam’s food scene so exciting. It felt more like an afternoon spent with friends than a guided tour.
In just three hours, we ate like locals, explored parts of Amsterdam we might have otherwise missed, and had a blast. Highly recommended for anyone who loves food, culture, or just experiencing a city from a new perspective. An unforgettable, mouthwatering experience!

What a great experience! Paul was fantastic! He made sure we were having a good time, from the beginning to the end of the tour. This was a great day. You really got to see multiple neighborhoods of Amsterdam, learn history in an interesting and succinct way, try awesome food and see the beauty of Amsterdam through the canal boat rides. Our guide, Bart was super kind, knowledgeable and made it a great day. The owner of the boat, Paul, was also great. We had a wonderful day. I highly recommend this tour. It is a great way to see Amsterdam.

That was fun! The chance to venture through Amsterdam and into historic locations to sample all kinds of food and beverages .... loved it! Also our guide was devoted to incorporate lots of history and family connections that we never would have known about without her. Personal touch was meaningful. A great way to have a walking tour of the area all while enjoying local fare.

Paul was a wonderful guide from start to finish. He welcomed everyone personally, getting to know a little about each person in a very friendly manner. The canal ride was great fun, especially with the delicious snacks and drinks. The food at each place was tasty and interesting, with Paul giving background of the dishes and the Netherlands history. Elena did a wonderful job of guiding us both on the food tour and on the canal cruise, introducing us to the culture of the Netherlands, food and customs. Our small group of 12 navigated the streets from cafe to eatery to canal cruise and we enjoyed getting to know each other along with the Dutch culture. Excellent.

We never got to go on this tour. The first problem was that i never got our voucher or tickets and had to contact Viator the night before via What's App. They confirmed it was paid in full and they instructed me to click on the link in the booking. It just kept taking me in a loop with no access to the voucher or the tickets.
When I did finally get it resent to me the only address we got was a problem as there was no one to meet us at the meet up place. We arrived 45 minutes early and no was there to meet us at the time of the tour. I spoke with the provider on the phone and they confirmed where we were and that there should have been someone there. The provider acknowledge that I was correctly in front of the building, then they had us go to the back of the building and then back up to the font of the building looking or a man with an orange umbrella. The person was not there at all. Then the provider asked that we go to a different address, which she gave me over the phone. I indicated that nowhere on any of the information that I was given had the new address she gave us. The whole situation was extremely stressful, and I told the provider that I wanted a full refund. The canal cruise was to begin at 11:30 and it was very close to noon when she gave us the new address.
The meet up never happened we did not go on the food canal cruise.

I happened to be there during the Amsterdam spring break so I understand and empathize with why this happened. But I have to say I did not appreciate that the tour guide brought her 7 year old son along for many reasons which I will not go into detail about. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and the appetizers were good.
