The tour starts at the easy-to-find National Archives Building. From here, board a climate-controlled bus, and enjoy the stress-free atmosphere of being able to explore Washington DC without worrying about navigation and logistics.

Tour guide Tyrone was excellent. He was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. Boat ride was boring at the end. They should have had the guide talking on the way back.

Trip started late, we were rushed from site to site, the boat left without us and it was a poor experience all around. Still working on a refund , since we didn't do the boat part of the trip. Very poor organization

Although it was a very hot September day, we enjoyed the tour as best we could. Our driver and guide. Chris and Tyrone, were courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was a very educational and fun experience. Giving us time and options for lunch (including Tony and Nick's right on the water) were very nice.
The disappointment to me was the river cruise. The vessel was old, dirty, and cramped. There were a lot of people on-board and it was a hot afternoon. I was looking forward to the water part of the tour the most, but, unfortunately, it was a disappointment.

Tyrone was a knowledgeable and fun tour guide, and the driver (Chris, I think), did a good job. Just the right amount of stops, and we enjoyed the boat ride too. Everything was timed well. I highly recommend this tour.

I had a problem with the tour and have contacted both the operator and Viator with no help. I have yet to be able to explain the issues to either of them. I DO NOT recommend this tour company at this point. They will not pick you up at your hotel (even if it is on the preferred list) so that is a ridiculous offer, they were not on time (30 minutes of sitting on the bus with no explanation) so we moved very quickly through the sites (you do not get 15 minutes as listed) and we did not get any introduction or instructions as to how the tours and sites will go.
If you get our guide and stay on the bus when your family is seeing the site, you will get to hear her tell the semi full bus about how dumb people are, how they dont listen or follow her vague instructions, how she will leave and they will have to find their way to the next stop and how they obviously dont know how to follow directions. She will also be sure and repeat those comments with her microphone on and embarrass your children when they were 1-1/2 minutes late of her "glorious" 11 minute timeline. Don’t do it – this is not luxury it is a bus and I could not sit facing forward with my knees closed. I am 5’8” .

This was a well run, well hosted “on-off” bus tour, with, as expected, only 10-15 minutes at each attraction. This particular tour was heavy on military sights: WWll Memorial, Vietnam, Korean, Iwo Jima, War memorials, MLK, FDR, Lincoln memorials, and a very pleasant 45” boat ride down the Potomac giving us a different perspective on several of the sights. It was a necessarily slightly rushed experience just by its nature-but interesting as an overview of this part of D.C. It included a lunch break of almost an hour and a half on the waterfront. Our driver, Chris, was really good, navigating through traffic about as well as I’ve ever seen. Not risky, but decisive and always seeming to make the right move at the right time. Our guide, Tyrone, was great. Interesting, numerous, well trained at keeping things moving, and very knowledgeable. So, in short, we more than got what we paid for. Recommend.

I was told light snacks were included. Nothing was and a 2 hour tour on the boat which was less then a hour. The bus tour part of the tour was fantastic

Tyrone and Chris were excellent!! They livened the trip up and added excitement to the historical facts. They had great recommendations and were easy to talk to!!! Husband and I had actually gone to some of the spots the night prior, but going in the daytime with Tyrone and Chris the sights were more significant bc we could actually hear the facts about the sights and fully appreciate the thoughtfulness put into them.

We were really looking forward to this 6 hr tour during our visit from out of town. At the pick up time, we waited at our hotel. After 15 minutes of waiting with no one showing up, I start calling. Took a long time but finally got a hold of someone. She repeatedly tried calling our driver with no answer. After waiting on hold with her, we got disconnected. An hour after the scheduled pickup time, I get a call from someone saying that the “brand new” tour van broke down a few blocks away, the tour was called off and we will get a full refund. Something about the excuse of a “brand new van breaking down” didn’t sound right or believable to me. 2 weeks later, we STILL haven’t received our refund for $466 and had to dispute the charge with the credit card company.
Very disappointed. Not to mention that as the planner of this trip, I was really banking on this tour for my family of 5 as a way to take in many of the important sites in DC with a knowledgeable tour guide.
Really screwed up our day.

Thank you for your comment. We've been trying hard to accommodate everybody with the hotel pickup but with every issue that we had decided to stop the pickups. Sorry about the inconvenience. We advise our guests to meet us at the National Archives 800 Pennsylvania Ave NW at 10:00 day tour or 7:00 night tour. We recommend against driving in DC and suggest rather you take the metro and stop at the National Archives. Sorry about the $25 for parking.

This tour was awesome. 5 stars for tour. I selected 4, because Viator representative gave me the wrong time. After paying for this tour via Viator app, I called Viator the day before tour to confirm everything. You HAVE TO CHECK with Signature Tours directly regarding time to meet bus if you are going to be picked up from your hote. Luckily Sean, the manager from Signature tours sent me a text at 9:37 am to let us know that the driver came and left. Apparently, our driver came at 9:34. Sean the manager was very gracious and provided great customer service by picking us up in Signature’s van and driving us to the first meeting place of bus tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We visited the sites that are stated and we’re able to get off the bus at each location for more in-depth history. Had an hour break for lunch wherever we chose along the Washington Harbor. Then we proceeded on the cruise along the Potomac. We did have a heavy downpour on us during lunch and a little after, but the tour kept going. It was still cool with us. Awesome tour!!! If your hotel is one of those that Signature tours can pick you up, remember to call SIGNATURE tours NOT Viator at least a day before so you get the exact time to be ready.
