It was an amazing tour! We had a great time. This is a tour meant for those visiting Vienna for the first time, but we learned a whole bunch of things despite having visited the city several times before.

We did a tour with Herbert and had a fantastic experience. He is incredibly friendly and extremely knowledgeable - especially impressive because he’s Viennese himself and clearly deeply connected to the city’s history.
Even though I’m from Vienna and already knew quite a bit, Herbert went far beyond the standard tour, sharing deeper insights and answering our questions in great detail. We ended up going over time simply because the conversations were so engaging - he never rushed us and you could really feel his passion for history and storytelling.
It’s obvious that guiding isn’t “just a job” for him - he offers many tours in Vienna, and I even kept his card for future ones. As a Viennese, I can genuinely recommend this tour. It was absolutely worth the money and a great part of showing my girlfriend the city. Wouldn’t want to have missed it.

I can't recommend this tour enough! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and enjoyable. Herbert was such a great guide! He did a wonderful job delving deep into imperial history while also interjecting fun modern points and aspects of the world wars. He even brought pictures of historical views of certain spots so you could see the evolution of the city to today. He was great at answering questions and had good recommendations as well. The tour covered a lot of the central city spots with an emphasis on Hapsburg rule. Would highly recommend and will be booking him again when others come to visit. (FYI- tours are in English)

If you want to take a two hour tour with a unique, quirky guide, join Herbert. He is a man of facts and passion for what he is doing. We took this tour on our last full day in Vienna and we actually were happy since everything he was describing layered nicely after our museum days.
He ends right in from of St. Stephens Cathedral so we ended up pairing this with checking out the cathedral and the catacombs on our own after.

Booked online via Viator when in the UK
Once arriving in Vienna we met with our tour guide for the walking tour but was told it was a German speaking tour not English!
Very disappointed they knew I’d booked whilst in the uk why wasn’t I told before the day of the tour!!!!
Bad communication! when spoken to on the phone by the organiser he was very aggressive in his tone I was offered to come back the next day but we already had plans and the weather was forecast as heavy rain so not ideal at all!

Unfortunately, you booked a German tour via TripAdvisor/Viator!
During the booking process, it is clear in which language the tour will be operated.
As well you can find the language printed at the tickets.
Therefore, it is not our mistake.
I remember our telephone conversation, and you’re right after explaining you four times that the tour language changes each day and we cannot offer dual language tours because of quality, I got mad.
I apologize for that!

Nice tour. The Guide knew the city well. It is a good tour in case you are planning to spend a few days in Vienna. This will give you information on the key museums and history of the city and you can then plan do what interests you more.
It is cold in the morning in March, the winds in the morning and evening are icy cold.
