I could hardly describe this as a tour. Our guide silently strolled next to us and pointed about obvious things, “this is a square”. There was no history told to us. We ended the “tour” early because we can walk around on our own

This is a unique tour and recommended for travellers that are curious to understand and experience the local history and flavor. The local tour guide offers immersive and in depth cultural knowledge, local customs while uncovering local hidden gems not marketed by the traditional tours and more importantly, it was safe.
We asked to be brought to food haunts to experience where locals frequent and the food experience was nothing short of fantastic. In addition we walked through the streets of Venice and given a history of each district we visited including the uniqueness of each of the places we visited and relationship between them. This was never anticipated but added to the understanding on how these districts evolved over time. This was our first time in having a local guide and we have no regrets and only praises for this unique experience as our guide was very articulate, patient and in our opinion experienced and knowledgeable. Our guide Gio was exceptional and made our experience memorable. Before we parted, our local guide introduced local restaurants serving local Venetian food. We tried his recommendation and was not disappointed in both taste and value.

You will be walking for 3 hours … ~ 5 miles total. If such a tour is not your cup of tea, select another or advise the docent of your walking capabilities. The tour was revealing, humorous and informative… along with traveling through the non-tourist neighborhoods. A great day.

Carlotta was our guide for the walking tour. She did a wonderful job of showing us through Venice. She was very knowledgeable of the area and its history. She remained cheerful and upbeat even though if rained during our entire tour. We would definitely recommend her to anyone that was interested in a walking tour of Venice.

A wonderful, perfect way to experience Venice. Our guide, Ilaria, created a unique, interesting, informative, and fun tour that really helped us get a feel for the city, its history, neighborhoods and people. One of the true highlights of our trip!!

Miriam gave us a great tour. She was fun, engaging and knowledgeable. She accommodated the couple requests I had and also had great pro-tricks for avoiding heavy tourist congestion while still getting into the key sites.

Silvia’s wine and cicchetti tour was incredible! While booked as a group tour, my wife and I were the only participants, so it ended up being a private tour. We learned more than we ever expected, had amazing small plates of local delicacies, fabulous wine and visited both quiet and comfortably lively neighborhoods away from the common tourist spots. But most importantly we met a friend in Silvia whom we hope to see again. She is a loving spirit doing these tours for the same reason we book tours by locals - to truly connect and learn from each other no matter where we are from.
This tour, and Silvia, earned our highest recommendation possible. We will be encouraging everyone we know going to Venice to book this tour.

Turkan is a absolutely wonderful tour guide. Our walk through the neighborhoods of Venice was a highlight of our visit. She is a highly intelligent young woman who is as personable and knowledgeable as she is beautiful.

This tour was amazing! Hala took us all around the city and we saw so much! She was very knowledgeable, and it felt like a friend was taking us around her neighborhood. Highly recommend, especially if Hala is your tour guide!

Olga informative with history and took us off the beaten track away from the hustle and bustle to see local Venice. Recommended an amazing g restaurant at the end.

Our Guide, Marco Barbazza was excellent and very accommodating and very knowledgeable. Just one piece of Advice: Venice in July is very busy and extremely hot. A 3 hour walking tour over the warmest part of the day is not a good idea. Plan this shorter or very early or very late in the afternoon...

This was a wonderful way to see Venise in a very short time. There were not too many tourists around and with a local guide, one really gets a deeper understanding of the place, and the culture which animates this beautiful town. Our guide Esther was really speciale !!!

Hadar was a great host. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We covered a lot of territory. I would recommend to future guests

Our guide was great! We saw so much of the city, and because it was private, we could stop to look at anything we wanted. We even stopped for coffee and a pastry! He also helped us with the water bus and gave a great lunch recommendation. Fun to see the city through a locals eyes.

Our private tour of Venice with Boris was, without a doubt, the highlight of our trip! Boris guided us through the hidden gems and less touristy corners of the city — places we would have never discovered on our own. His deep knowledge of Venetian history, art, and culture brought every street and canal to life in the most fascinating way.
One of the most memorable moments was when Boris took us to a charming local café, where we enjoyed a traditional macchiatone — a Venetian twist on the classic macchiato that locals adore. It was a small touch that made us feel like true Venetians. He also recommended a fantastic local restaurant for lunch and even helped us navigate the menu to order authentic dishes we wouldn’t have known to try.
Boris is, without question, the best tour guide I’ve ever had. His passion, insight, and warm personality made our day in Venice unforgettable.
Thank you, Boris, for showing us the real Venice and making our visit so special!

We had a lovely morning with Vittoria! We visited parts of Venice that we wouldn’t have found by ourselves and Vittoria shared a wealth of interesting information about life in the city. We were very pleased that we booked the tour!

Great history of the lagoon and of Venice itself. Started with major sights and then explored more places off the beaten path.

Our guide was Turkan, who has been a resident of Venice for many years. She showed us the locals' Venice, off the obvious tourist trail, and gave us a lot of information about the city, and places to go. It's really like a friend showing the city.
Pkatzenberg, Jan 2025
Loved the tour! Camilla was excellent - it was as if your best friend would show you their city for the first time. Camilla asked what we would like to prioritise on the tour and any must see. Great knowledge and welcoming ! Thank you !
Kristin_S, Jan 2025
Camilla was an excellent guide for a 3 hour walking tour. She is excited to share her city with visitors and gave us good information without burying us in dates.
Claire_S, Dec 2024
Our guide was lovely and interesting. Really glad we chose the 3 hour tour as we had time cover most of Venice from p.s.marco to ghetto to a charming campo near academia. Thank you
Theresa_G, Nov 2024
My only regret is not doing this the first day we arrived and scheduling a three hour instead of a two hour tour. Camila was great and provided us lots of information to tour around the city. Venice is much more than St Marks Cathedral and Doges Palace. If you are spending a few days here, I recommend taking this walking tour.
Larry_J, Oct 2024
The tour included things I didn't expect with views of popular sites from a different angle plus sites we would not have visited. We saw the tourist sites we asked for plus others we didnt think of. Alvice also told us stories of the life in Venice and answered any question we could think of. Overall it was a great tour.
Mike_G, Oct 2024
Valentina was our host and the total group size was 20 people. She ensured everyone stayed together and we were easily able to follow her commentary via the wireless speaker transmission. She was not only knowledgeable about the history and art of both the Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica, but her rich knowledge of Venetian history and culture made the tour even more enjoyable. She was excellent, her English was outstanding, and her sprinkles of light humor made the tour worth every penny. Oh, and when you see the lines for both the palace and the church you’ll be thrilled you purchased a tour with skip the line access.
Ken_A, Sep 2024
Excellent tour through various venwtian neighborhoods far from the tourists pathways. Interesting history and cafes. Saw where Vivaldi was baptised and lived.
Elaine_M, Sep 2024
Paolo took us on an excellent tour of the less touristy places in Venice while sharing its history, beautiful churches, residential area and the Arsenal. His love for his city was infectious and he was kind enough to walk us back to our hotel at the end if our time together
