Our family of four (including two teenage boys) experienced the private gondola ride. Our gondolier was quite reticent, but that actually was a positive for us as we were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful views without interruption.

It is only 30 minutes and no longer at the most. Sometimes, the gondola can be a little shakey if the wind is blowing.

Okay, Despite a Shaky Meet-up Experience

The ride itself was nice (despite the cloudy, cool weather). Wish we could have been serenaded. The meet-up with Viator guide was frustrating! We were given an address that was several hundred feet from where the guide was; had to call Viator.

I would not recommend this to her at all. Our train was running late. I called to try to change it and I got nowhere. The only thing I got was too late totally disappointed and would not recommend this group for this tour.

The cost of the gondola tour locally is 90 Euro for a day ride; there is plenty of availability. Charging 195 Euro is a massive rip off for no additional activity, explanation or value provided

The meeting point was easy to find and tour director was waiting. I did find the gondolier was not very friendly and while it wasn't a tour, he could have said something during the ride.

A nice ride with a boatsman who spoke decent english, but frankly, nothing I could not have done directly in November for far less. The tour guide was nice enough but simply met us, and walked us a few blocks to a spot on the canal where gondola's load and offload passengers. In peak season, this might have had far greater value. No singing, but he took a route that avoided much traffic.

We paid three times more than other people on our tour and because of the rain the whole experience lasted 1/2 the advertised time! Never booking with this site again

The scenery and architecture is beautiful along the canals. The gondolier was not engaged with us and busy chatting with another gondolier along the way. He only spoke to us when we spoke to him. Either talk to your customers or don't talk, but don't chat away with your buddies.

The Gondolier was informative and friendly which made our experience even better than we expected. We went end of June and although it was busy there were not too many Gondola’s in the canals at any given time. They are very skilled and work really hard.

Next time we'll do it ourselves.

A gondola ride seems compulsory with a visit to Venice & we were glad we did it. However, we didn't realise that there are plenty of Gondalas & Gondoliers just waiting for you to walk up to the booth and pay them for a half hour ride. We didn't really need to pay this much for someone to meet us & then walk us to the place where you then pay & ride.

We were greeted by a lovely lady, however that is where is ends. The gondola company were rude & requested we move for other passengers despite our booking. We were made to wait for over 20 minutes, then eventually when we got on our ride, it lasted 20 minutes instead of the advertised 30-35 minutes. We definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND. I was anxious gondolas would all be booked out in the height of summer, which is why I pre booked at a premium, but you are definitely better off just grabbing a gondola on the day for less elsewhere. PS No email response from Destination Venice.

We had a wonderful time on our gondola tour, Feruccio was so nice, he kept telling us some curiosities about the places we went buy and about Venice in general - we just loved it!!
