Itinerary

Meet your guide near St. Mark's Square in central Venice and climb into a luxurious motorboat with the rest of your small group of no more than 8 people. Enjoy the scenery as you ride along the water through the Venice lagoon.

Head first for the island of Burano, known for its brightly-colored houses. Burano is historically a fishing village, though today much of its economy is tourism, and the colorful houses are said to have helped guide fishermen to their homes. The island has also been a center of lace making for centuries, and many of the around 3,000 residents still make the intricate designs by hand. Enjoy some free time to explore Burano at your leisure, perhaps browsing in the lace shops or visiting the lace museum.

Continue on to Murano, an island of around 4,500 residents that's quite close to central Venice and has long been internationally famous for glass making. Learn how Venice's glass makers were moved to Murano in 1291 to keep the incidence of fires down. Visit a glass factory to see a glass blowing demonstration before browsing the shop.

At the conclusion of your Murano visit, you'll be returned to the city center of Venice.

Best Venice Murano Burano tour!

LisaCano, Nov 2025
The driver and tour guide were amazing and iso much fun! Nice ride through Venice, pointing out historical sights and the stories behind them. Off to Burano for a walking tour of the island and watch lace being made. Then to Murano for a tour and watch of glass blowing! Beautiful but way over priced. Very beautiful , highly recommend this tour.

Another great time with Sergio

Yanosik_G, Jul 2025
This was our second tour with Sergio, his is special, we had made our day twice and will make anyone’s day, his knowledge of the history of Venice and this two islands is unmatchable, he takes you through the streets of those islands and shares very unique stories with you, he is greeted by many along way, he then takes you to the best glass factory in Murano, if anyone is looking for a tour to enjoy and learn Burano and Murano, this is the tour and Sergio is the person. Thank you!!!

PRIVATE TOUR

Thank you for a wonderful day seeing Burano & Murano. The guide, Sergio, was above and beyond friendly and knowledgeable

Best tour in Venice

lauraswaney1, Sep 2023
Had a wonderful day… our best in Venice. Private boat to Murano and Burano. Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic. She explained the vast history of both islands and took us to authentic shops. We stopped at a lace making store in Burano and also had lunch on the water. We saw glass blowing in Murano and had time to shop and walk the factory. This tour made our trip to Venice!

A memorable Day

Yanosik_G, Jun 2023
I wish there were more starts to give to Sergio, this has been the best experience we have had in our trip, he made it a memorable tour, he not only is charismatic he is very knowledgeable, more importantly is a great person; on the tour he took us behind the scenes and showed us what this island are for the people that live there, explained the history of both islands in a way that we all loved, including my 13 years old daughter, yesterday was the happiest that we have seen her in a tour and not only that, at the end of the day when back at the hotel we were talking about our tour and she remembered everything we were explained, we will definitely see him again when we come back to Venice.

Relaxing, beautiful trip

Connie_W, Jun 2023
Beautiful day in the islands with a wonderful guide who let us move at our on pace. The glass gallery took time as it is so many different styles and pieces.

A must do in Venice!

Edi was an excellent tour guide for our trip to Murano and Burano. She provided wonderful history and insider tips on the locations. We would definitely go again!

Outstanding private tour of murano and burano. Expensive but worth it. Our guide was a+ and the glass tour factory tour was outstanding

Wonderful excursion - great value experience

Christina was an excellent guide, very pleasant and most informative. Everything about the tour was excellent, if we could have changed one thing we would have added another hour on Burano which was so beautiful. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

Waste of time

CritterVet, Aug 2019
The first part of the trip was nice walking around the colorful village but had to rush off this island in order to get to the glass factory on the second island...which is all you get to see at the second island:( high pressure salespeople escorting you around multiple showrooms of glassware and sculptures for sale is all you get to see of the second island. Would have loved to have actually seen the island or just stayed at the first one to explore more. The guide was very nice and educational about the area which was why I gave 2 stars rather than 1.

Response from Host, Aug 2019

Dear Client , Thank you for your feedback . I’m glad you’ve enjoyed visiting the colourful Burano island and less happy about reading about your experience in Murano . This Small group tour features both islands and considering the time to arrive in Burano while our guide talks about Venice and the lagoon , we spend about 1 hr time in Burano . When we reach Murano , we navigate through some of the canals prior to reaching the glass workshop , where our guests see a demonstration of how the famous Murano Glass is made , followed by a visit of the Gallery . As this is a small group guided tour , all our guides are always with our clients or near clients and advise our clients to be told if they are not that interested in seeing the Murano produce that follows the demonstration . After the visit of the workshop , our guide takes clients on a walking tour to cover some parts of Murano before returning to Venice . We’ve been operating this tour for a certain number of years and we have a team of dedicated guides doing this tour . All our guides know how to operate it and know also that in no way our clients have to feel pressured by the workshop . Therefore I was surprised in reading your comment and if you can please get back to me via our tours-italy.com web site in regards to when you took the tour , I would greatly appreciate it as I can further investigate with our guide . It is our asset to provide quality travel experiences to all our clients . We always take into consideration all feedbacks , but certainly when it comes to not so good ones , we would appreciate our customers would get in touch with us to provide additional information that would allow us to further investigate . This said , I’m sorry for not having delivered to you the type of experience you were expecting to receive and I hope to hear back from you . Best Regards , Monica

Great way to see both islands

John_R, Sep 2018
Spending a few hours seeing these two islands is perfect - and our tour guide was efficient and informative - as usual for a Viator tour - very cost effective too!

This tour was the highlight of our trip...

Darci H, Jun 2018
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Venice. Our guide Kristina was lovely and personable it felt more like being shown around the islands by a friend rather than a hired guide. The boat ride was beautiful, the islands were lovely, and we were given just the right balance of structured tour and free time. We did see a glass-making demonstration, however there was no pressure to make a purchase afterwards. Likewise with the lace on Burano Island we could indulge or not. Our choice. We had ample time to wander about the islands main corridors instead if we wished. Even if you are on a bit of a budget, splurge on this tour. Enjoy!
