  • There is no photography permitted inside St Mark’s Basilica.
  • Please note that tour starting times are subject to change based on ticket availability
  • Due to the highly variable nighttime opening and closing times of Doge’s and St. Mark’s, your tour may need to take up to a 1.5 hour break between the two sites, in which case your guide will recommend a local restaurant or bar in which to wait. In some cases, however, there will be no break. In all cases, the total duration of the guided tour will ALWAYS be three hours, regardless of the break time.
  • An original, valid photo ID is required for entry to St. Mark's Basilica. Photocopies are not accepted.
  • Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers’ full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the attraction.
  • Admission to St. Mark’s Basilica is included (valued from €50 per person).

Excellent tour of the Doge Palace

Our guide was fantastic. Unbelievable knowledge of the palace. The palace was beautiful! Small group of 6 made it special. Unfortunately, missed the second half of the tour because the time kept changing and in the end, it got to be too late for us. We saw the Basilica the next day. We would’ve enjoyed the evening private tour if it had been earlier.

Liv Tours is the best! First of all, never more than 6 people per tour, and if you want you can always do a private tour, too. Plus, this tour was after hours, after all the crowds have left. Wow! No better way to experience Saint Mark’s! Our tour guide Filippo was amazing. He brought Doge’s Palace and Saint Mark’s to life with such interesting and fascinating stories and because our group was all of 4 it was easy to ask questions, too. The highlight was sitting in the church in the dark, and then watching the lights slowly get turned back on as the whole church came to life, glistening in gold. So beautiful. Nothing like it. I will never forget it! You have to experience this! If you can, go….

Do yourself a favor and visit The Doge's balance and St Marks after hours. The crowds have thinned and we had St. Marks almost to ourselves. When they turned the lights off and just lit the domes clad in glass mosaics and gold leaf it was nothing we've ever experienced before - just breathtaking! Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history and it showed! I thought hard about the rating - the only reason we gave it 4 stars was we felt the 30 minute break between the two venues was not needed. We felt a bit rushed in the Doge's palace and that extra time could have been used to linger in two of Venice's iconic landmarks. Overall - a wonderful experience and highly recommended! This tour is pricey but worth the investment

Seeing the Doge's Palace and St Mark's after regular hours made the experience so much better! No suffocating crowds. Our guide, Sabrina, was excellent! She was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and had a wonderful personality. We learned far more than if we had done this on our own. Also, being in a very small group meant we could ask questions.

If there is one tour you should choose while in Venice, the Doge Palace/St Marks tour with Valentina is the one. The tour was filled with interesting history and magical surprises delivered in a unique way by the amazing Valentina. She knows her city and the Venetian people and history and shares it with humor and honesty. The only word to describe St Marks after hours is awesome. It’s so beautiful. This experience was magical and we are so appreciative.
