Easy, relaxing way of exploring two wonderful islands while in Venice. Marta was personable, knowledgeable, and easy going. She was able to steer us away from the loud touristy parts and to enjoy the quieter parts of the islands.

The guide Syria was fantastic! She talked about life in Venice, growing up here, challenges, history and future.
This is the second time we have been to Murano Glass but first time guided was so much better! We learned a great deal. All handmade glass is exquisite and purchased some lovely items for our home and daily use.

We purchased a very expensive item from Mocinego glass factory. They took our Money, and 3 months later the product has not been delivered. Do not take this tour it’s a tip off!!!

Great tour! Our tour leader was smart and funny and gave us a great walking tour of Murano after the demo at the glass factory. I would highly recommend this trip as the cost is significantly less than booking at taxi.

A beautiful tour. Not fast paced or crowded. We enjoyed the private water taxi across to the islands of Murano and Burano. As our tour was in the afternoon we watched the sunset over the water. Beautiful. Glass blowing. Lace making. Cookie baking. All artisan crafts. Each one different and unique. And each one in danger of disappearing. We were greeted with a lovely glass of cool drink to watch the demonstration. Our glass blower is a true genius who was singing and humming as he worked. The others with him moved together like a well choreographed dance. It was magical and beautiful to watch. The woman making lace in Burano was also beautiful to behold. Her fingers were working quickly and delicately to create the most beautiful craftsmanship I’ve ever seen. As we sampled the traditional cookies we enjoyed the soft buttery flavor. Not too sweet. Just right. Of course we purchased something and would’ve bought more if we’d had time. That was the only downside. As it is the end of the season. The sun is setting earlier and we’re the last tour of their day. Overall a beautiful way to spend our first afternoon in Venice.

My husband and I took part in a private tour of Murano Island and a glass making demonstration. The only reason we booked a private tour was due to the times and availability of other tours. We were met at the tour office by our guide who turned out to be a sales representative at the factory store. The demonstration was very interesting. But we felt like we were set up to get the big sales push. After the demonstration we were taken through the store and then left on our own to wander around. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for a water taxi to bring us back to the mainland. Very disappointed.

More of a sales gimmick than an experience. You basically see a master artisan create a single piece in about 15 minutes and then are moved into the sales showroom.
Murano is basically a series of shops with glassware. It would have been better to have simply taken a water taxi there to walk around.

The glass master was amazing!!! And the prosecco was a nice touch! Gorgeous display! Our tour guide was great! Lots of history with the craft

Nicola was the absolute best. He was supremely knowledgeable about the many eras and histories of Italy. Additionally, he is from the area so has vast local knowledge. We also stopped for coffee and learned about his studies at University and learned about what it is like to live in Venezia. Cannot say enough. 5 star EVERYTHING. Thx Nicola!

I would have preferred to spend more time learning about how Murano glass is made, observing the process, and learning about the history of the town and LESS time feeling pressured to buy expensive Murano glass.

Elena took us into Mocenigo glass factory on island Murano. We had chance to see from close proximity the glass master. Very impressed by the skills of the gentleman. We than got chance to go through factory shop... and we definitely want to come back. If you want to see skilful glassmaking master and experience how beauty is made, ask Elena to get you around Murano and Burano island ( Burano was not actually part of our trip - but still we got tips and taxi boat got us there) thanks for wonderful day.

We absolutely loved this tour! The private boat to and from the island was pre-arranged so we could maximize our time on the island (unlike other tours in Venice that arrange their transportation on the fly). Allegra was a charming and informative guide who tailored the trip to our desires. The glass blowing demonstration was fabulous … up close and personal with a certified craftsman! A must-do tour in Venice!

Great trip to Murano and Burano to see local artisans. The glass making was interesting (but very hot!) and we bought some small souvenirs home. They did have much more expensive options but just not my style. Murano had the cute colored houses and lots of shops - I bought a linen dress as a souvenir but also something I can wear at home. Our guide Giuia was local to the area and knowledgeable. Overall recommended!

We bought a private tour of Murano Island with Venice Tours. We knew we be arriving about 20 min late we contact the tour company they said they would contact the tour guide. We arrived 20 minutes late and the guide was gone. This was a private tour for just myself and my son, they guide was being paid to wait for us, no one else and he left with knowldege we were running late.

We had a private tour, just the two of us and a guide. We experienced a private glass blowing demonstration from our private table with cool drinks (it was warm outside!). The glass master brought his creations to us for a closeup view. After the demonstration, we toured the “store” of completed glass art creations for purchase. The items are quite expensive. You have to consider them pieces of art. We highly recommend this tour!

Our guide was nice enough, and had good information, but the water taxi scheduling back and forth was not good. We ended up staying on Murano 45 minutes longer than we wanted. We’d seen what we wanted to see and just wanted to get back to the hotel and out of the heat.

Despite it being absolutely awful weather the trip was amazing with a guide very knowledgeable about Venice. The glass factory Paolo was the perfect guide explaining the whole process eloquently
Zach_M, Apr 2025
Syria did a fantastic job showing us first all the sites and discussing the history of Venice during our water taxi over to Murano.
From there she did a great job explains the glassblowing process and helped us select pieces for my home.

WOW!!! So much history and local information was provided by Giovanni. He was an awesome tour guide answering questions and managing our time so we could get the most out of our experience.

This was an excellent three-hour tour from Venice to Murano and back! Our tour guide, Vittorio, was a local Venetian and so friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed visiting a Murano Glass factory to witness firsthand the incredible skill of glass blowing. Our tour then of the island and its history was so enjoyable. We highly recommend this private tour!!
Diahn_B, Jan 2025
Our guide adapted our tour to our needs and was kind and helpful. We took a beautiful private boat taxi to Murano, watched a glass-blowing demonstration by a master and walked around the island of Murano. Lovely day.
M_S, Oct 2024
The guide was excellent however having paid almost 200 euros for a private tour and then subsequently having to share the taxi with 8 other people, was unacceptable
Eric_T, Oct 2024
Chiara was absolutely wonderful. She was punctual, pleasant, and very informative! We had a lively discussion during our 3 hours together.
The glassblowing demonstration was impressive, albeit short (about 10 minutes total). The real objective seemed to be to get you to buy something from the shop. I expected this to an extent, but the pressure to buy was a bit uncomfortable.
Most importantly, the guide was great, and the town was charming!

Friendly, knowledgeable & helpful guide, Vittorio, was a gem! Highly recommend this tour. Discovered a great pizza restaurant.

David was amazing. Great value. He wasn't watching his watch. History lesson on the creation of Venice was fascinating along with the ride to Murano in a beautiful water taxi. Glass making demonstration is unique. At the end of the tour, he recommended restaurants for lunch and dinner. Thanks again David.

Having a private tour was an excellent choice. We were able to take our time a bit but still meet the requirements of the itinerary. Our guide, Vittorio was amazing and so passionate about Venice and Murano. The glass factory was incredible. I had every intention of purchasing something from Murano even it was something small and ended up buying a vase and Xmas ornament but other people may have felt pressured as they do take you through the main shop where everything is very expensive. The walk around the town of Murano itself was beautiful and there are other “glass” shops that you can copy versions of “some murano items but not all“. The private water taxi over to and from the island was also great as our guide took us up other canals that we haven’t visited.
Faye_t, Sep 2024
Our tour guide did an excellent job in showing us the glass blowing factory and around Murano. while providing us with the history of the industry and area. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would book with Viator again.

David was awesome!! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and we above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience!! Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful time. Even with a slight boat mix-up, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Murano. Vittorio (Victor) was an extremely knowledgeable and delightful guide.
