The teachers were very kind, really went into the details of ramen, had us participate in every step of the process, and everything was very well structured. If you’re looking for an unforgettable Tokyo experience, stop scrolling and book this class. My mom, brother, sister, and I spent a morning learning the ins and outs of ramen, and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our trip.
For three hours, we were completely immersed in ramen culture, not just eating it, but understanding it. The instructors took us through the history of ramen, the five essential elements of a bowl, and the surprising amount of labor and love that goes into something most of us slurp down in minutes.
What really sets this class apart is how hands-on it is. We didn’t just watch someone make noodles… we made them ourselves. Kneading dough, rolling it out, cutting noodles, it was all us. We also learned how to prepare some of our favorite toppings, like chashu pork and soft-boiled eggs, and even got to wrap our own gyoza (which were ridiculously good).
Of course, ramen broth takes days to make, so we couldn’t finish a full batch in-class. But we did get to participate in the beginning stages, breaking down pork and chicken bones and learning the technique behind a truly flavorful broth. It gave us a whole new appreciation for every bowl we’ve ever eaten.
The instructors were absolute gems: knowledgeable, funny, and so engaged with the group that the entire class felt warm, lively, and genuinely joyful. We laughed, we learned, we asked a hundred questions, and we ate the fruits of our labor at the end, assembling our very own ramen bowls with all the toppings. And yes… it tasted as good as it sounds.

This is a really fun activity but be prepared to work! The two men teaching the class were knowledgeable fun and entertaining. They provided a tremendous amount of information and kept the 7 of us constantly busy. And the results were delicious!

This was one of the best experiences I have had while traveling to Japan. I loved this activity from the teachers/chefs helping us to the atmosphere and the food, it was incredible. I like that I got to learn a new skill set, have a good time, and then eat some amazing ramen and gyoza. If you are traveling to Japan and have the time, you need to do this. They send you home with the recipes as well. It’s been fun taking a little bit of knowledge of Japanese cuisine home with me! :)

Our family of five had the best time at Baba Ramen! We always do cooking classes on our vacations and this one ranked right up there with the best. Unlike many other classes, they really put you to work. We were doing something for the entire time, in the kitchen with hot pans and oils, breaking chicken bones, rolling out noodles. We really felt like we cooked the meal and it was delicious! Also very personable chefs to help
guide us! Highly recommend!

You never know EXACTLY what you’re gonna get from a cooking class. You always expect it to be a good learning experience and opportunity to do some level of cooking you can’t/wouldn’t do at home, but the real question mark is whether you’re going to have FUN doing it. That depends on two things, one that is completely controlled by the staff and one that kind of isn’t. The one that isn’t is the quality of the other people in your class. We got lucky there as our group members were all eager to learn, excited to be there and energetic when we engaged them in conversation. The thing the staff can control is how they behave and I can’t imagine a better group of people than Eric, Jae, and Leo. Knowledgeable, personable, fun, friendly, and always upbeat, it was legitimately difficult to walk away at the end from such an excellent group and wonderful experience.
It seems a tad pricey, but I’d recommend this in a heartbeat.

This course was phenomenal. The instructors were very knowledgeable and friendly. Not only did they give you the instructions on how to make the ramen, they give you the cultural background history about each step of the process, a quick lesson on etiquette, and the varieties of ramen you can make. Our family had a great time and we highly recommend this course. The Ramen also was delicious.

OMG this ramen & gyoza class was AMAZING! 🍜✨ Two super cool chefs showed us all their secrets - who knew making authentic ramen took so much work?! The best part? Making our OWN NOODLES from scratch! Seriously felt like a pro chef for a day! We got to devour everything we made and it was INSANELY good! No joke, this class was the highlight of our Tokyo trip. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. Our chef/teaches were amazing, very knowledgeable, patient and fun. Everyone had to help in all stages of ramen making process. Four hours went by so fast. Be prepared to work hard but you get to eat the best bowl of ramen in the end.

This was a fun, informative, and engaging class. I finally got to learn all the secrets to making an amazing bowl of Ramen.
It was great to learn how to scratch-make all 5 layers from fresh ingredients - inluding the noodles. Making everything in a commercial kitchen instead of someone's house allowed us to focuson the process and details. They included hacks to reduce the amount of time required w/ minimal tradeoffs. The secret?... FRESH ingredients and LOTS of time and hard work!
Can't wait to try making the recipes at home. Highly recommend this class, as well as, a cooking class in someone's home. They are very different experiences and they each have their strong points. Have fun learning and cooking!

Such a fantastic experience and atmosphere. The chefs were so welcoming and knowledgeable. They were fantastic with our 1.5 year old as well and very accomodating for him too. The ramen cooking class was amazing! I went as a solo traveler with several food allergies and Andrew and his team were extremely communicative and never made me feel like the alternate options were burdensome. Learning the history of ramen and the process of how it’s to be made was an amazing experience that I’m grateful to have had. Also the ramen and gyoza tasted delicious!! 🤤 I’ve already started using the recipes that we were sent to start my own shoyu-tare for my ramen at home!!
