Very good short trip to a most well known and best developed favela. It helped to understand the complex history of favelas and gave a little insight to everyday life of locals. The environment there is not at all that violent and dangerous, as I used to hear stories from a decade ago!

Very memorable part of our trip to Rio. Plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Lots of steps, which was fine for us, but may not be for everyone. Felt a little voyeuristic inevitably, but was prepared for that and felt comfortable in the hands of our guide who was very professional and helpful throughout.

Very interesting and insightful tour through the favela. Our guide, Mallou, was great. We walked away with a different perspective of favelas.
Waiting times for transfers to/from the favela could have been better coordinated. Each time we waited for 30 mins for transfers, which isn’t ideal.

You haven't really experienced Rio if you haven't taken this particular tour. I don't wanna mess up the spelling of her name but the tour guide and owner is amazing! It was a really good time, worth every penny. Be sure to have cash when you go so you can shop for all the nice things and groceries, I promise it's the best spot for it. I'm sad I wasn't able to get this painting because I forgot my cash. Anyway, dope experience and some of the best views. Love love loved it!

Juçara the tour guide was amazing! As a lot of people we were on the fence about this trip as a controversial topic, but we felt safe the whole time and didn’t feel like we were exploiting the residents. Juçara is an actual resident of the favela so it was great to get her first hand experiences and views. She gave us a lot to knowledgable facts and made us feel very comfortable. Was good seeing how people actually live in favelas with a walking tour rather than doing so in vehicles which we were not up for (the residents are human not zoo animals!) like we heard some tours do. Defo go for it!!!

A fantastic insight to life in a Favela. Guela, (spelling may be wrong), was our guide and has lived there all her life. Her love for her community shone through. We started by walking up a steep street to look at a fantastic view. Then we walked back down through very narrow streets, less than 1 metre wide in some places, and many, many stairs. We went into a local house, where refreshments were offered and a toilet was available. In all an enjoyable and informative trip, you can't visit Rio without visiting a Favela.

A really interesting tour and Juçara made it really special. She was knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and was very charming. The tour was well structured and showed us Rocinha Favela is a vibrant part of Rio with normal people just getting on with their lives. Meeting Cesar at his home was one of the highlights too. Would highly recommend this tour with Juçara ❤️

The trip went very smoothly. The tour guide was excellent and did everything that was promised. The Uber transfers turned up on time and the tour guide was waiting for us when we arrived. She delivered an excellent tour and was very knowledgeable, answering questions and giving an excellent commentary throughout the tour. I know that the UK Government website advises against visiting the Favalas, but we really enjoyed it and felt safe whilst we were there. It was a unique insight into this aspect of Rio life.

We read a lot about Brazil and its people before visiting the country and had a certain picture of what life in a favela could be like. Taking the tour with Touring Tours Agency helped to tear down the wall of prejudice one might have when only learning about favelas from travel guides and documentaries.
Juçara did an amazing job. She grew up in Rocinha and now makes a living and supports the community by running a tour agency in her hometown. She knows every corner of every street and answered all of the many questions we had. I highly recommend you take a tour with Juçara through Rocinha. We definitely enjoyed it a lot to learn more about the largest favela in South America, its people, and its history. Also, she showed us many of the best viewpoints (they're amazing...).
Apart from all the insights we got, everything was also super-well organized, from online booking to WhatsApp communication and pickup/dropoff.
Would 100% recommend joining for a tour and experiencing Rocinha with Juçara when you're in Rio de Janeiro.

Communication, fantastic. Help when our Uber room took us to wrong place, fantastic. Meeting Juçara and understanding the favela, fantastic. We’re just going to say fantastic about it all as that’s what it was. Informative and educational, yet being relaxed and fun. Some real highlights, meeting some brilliant people and eating good food on the tour.
Juçara was the the most wonderful tour guide to show us the around the great community of Rocina.

To begin, we were a little wary of booking a tour around the favelas but after seeing all the good reviews on this tour we decided to go for it.
We definitely were not disappointed!
From the second we met Juçara we felt at ease and had a fantastic day!
She was very knowledgeable on the favelas as she had lived there all her life and she showed us the best places to buy things to support the locals.
All in all the best day and we have booked another tour with Juçara off the back of it!

Excellent experience, the guide picked me up from Copacabana and then we headed to Rocinha.
She taught me a lot about the favela, its history and its people. She showed me some hidden spots to take the perfect pictures. I extremely recommend this tour with the best guide in Rio.
