Needs much improvement in providing information about the sites. Would have also been interesting if guide shared information about the places/neighborhoods we were driving through to learn more about the city and the country; so that the drive to the sites was made more interesting rather than boring. Finally, the audio in the van was not very clear.
A busy day that lets you visit two iconic Rio landmarks in the same day. Quick transit through the lines at Christ the Redeemer in part due to the early start. Our guide made sure we were all clear in meeting times and gave us free time at each location.

I do NOT recommend C2Rio Tours & Travel and I was surprised by the poor response from Viator when I requested a partial refund. I have booked from Viator several times and always had great experience.
Communication with this operator was horrible and we were explicitly lied to from the agency and received 0 communication from the tour guide on site with us.
We missed the train ticket window for Christ the redeemer train so we had to wait 2 hours to get on the train. They told us it was due to a busy day, but the manager on site said we missed our 7:40 window and therefore had to wait in the line to be slotted in based on others that didn’t show. (We arrived at 7:40 when instructions were explicit to arrive prior to your time). The pickup was late and that’s why we missed it.
The angency also gave us incorrect information about pickup options which resulted in us wasting time in the morning for a 6:20 departure that could have been 7:10 based on other stops.
Furthermore the guide spoke 4 languages but we struggled to understand him in 2.
Also - train is overrated. Pick the option that works for you time/budget wise.

Some stops were great some were not worth it. Picking up all the guests at their hotel was a little slow.

I signed up for a $200USD experience through Viator that was operated by C2Rio (a fairly well reviewed company). The experience was billed as a "small group tour" with early morning arrival for Christ the Redeemer and ample time at the "big sights."
The bus was over 30 minutes late in picking me up (I was told to be ready at 6:35am; they didn't get me until well past 7am). When I tried to contact the company, I got zero response. As a solo traveler, this wasn't super reassuring.
The guide's English was pretty limited, and she catered almost exclusively to the Brazilian tourists in the group. Which, by the way, was NOT a small group. It was 30 people (!!!) with three languages in the mix. The portuguese explanations were full and awesome, and for Spanish and English speakers, it was the bare minimum.
The late pick up meant we were then late arriving to Christ the Redeemer, and so it was already packed. The promised "early morning arrival" was not so. And the rest of the day was then spent with the guide hurrying us through. Her high-stress approach rubbed off on the group. It just... wasn't fun. :(
The lunch provided was barely edible - the last time I had a meal this bad while on a guided excursion was in Egypt in 2006. The idea was a Brazilian churascuria experience. The service was pretty good, but the food was terrible - the meat that was served were all end-cap cuts, full of gristle and fat. The venue showed its age and was packed full of ginormous tour groups. It was essentially a lunch mill for big bus groups. Hugely disappointing.
Based on this experience I can't recommend C2Rio group excursions at all. I won't use them again.

The estimated time does not include the travel time. We were on the bus, transporting people for almost 4 hours. Estimated tour time was 8 hours, however total time was closer to 12.5 hours. Should be disclosed up front to allow for our party to determine if we can accommodate a 12+ hour day.

This was a very full day of some of the best sights in Rio. But there was plenty of time to experience each stop.

This full day tour takes you on a ride to Rio's most prominent icons recognized around the world. Our guide (Publio) is a man who has traveled the world and able to communicate with everyone. He managed to keep the diverse group interested and maintain a timely schedule. We hit the attractions at just the right time, and the Brazilian lunch was amazing! The tour and the guide was ok, generally. The operator use AI as a comunication form in whatsapp, which is badly if you need a fast answer to your question or problem. I strongly recomand The operator to use a human instead of AI, especially during the activity. Our guide gave us his whatsapp number after a few hours of our tour. We lost some time waiting in line for our tickets, which could be bought one day before the tour, to save time, and time is money. Luckly it was a sunny day and Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful city. The guide was ok, not briliant but good enough.

Our guide Enrique was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our only negative was that the weather didn’t cooperate on the Sugarloaf mountain tram ride. The rain came in the afternoon. Perhaps having this and Christ the Redeemer trips be scheduled in the morning before afternoon clouds accumulate would be helpful .

Great tour and an excellent way to see Rio’s most iconic attractions in one day. Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain were absolutely worth it, and the Brazilian barbecue lunch was excellent. Transportation and logistics were well organized, which made the experience stress-free as a solo traveler.
My only suggestion would be to arrive at Selarón Steps earlier in the day, as it was very crowded by the time we got there. Even with that, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this tour to first-time visitors to Rio.

I went on this tour in April of 2026. I was visiting Brazil and Rio for work. I was fortunate to have a Portuguese speaking Carioca (someone from Rio) as my +1 for the day. The tour guide, Zeni, was terrific. She spoke at least 4 languages, maybe more - English was definitely one of them. You might want to learn a few words and phrases in Portuguese, but you can get by without it. The van for the tour was large, well-maintained, and air-conditioned. Zeni did a great job with communication the day of the tour during pickup, and throughout the day using What's App. I never once felt lost, unclear, or unsafe. Zeni handled securing tickets for the train ride up the mountain to Christ the Redeemer, and also for the Sugarloaf Mountain "ride." Although it was a tour, Zeni let us split up at the main attractions for enough time to explore without needing to be attached to her hip and try and hear her give explanations amongst the crowds - which I very much appreciated. The time to reconvene and location was always clear. She gave clear safety instructions when needed (at a couple spots on the tour you don't want to have your phone in your hand for fear of it being snatched - but that's anywhere in Rio). The tour's organization (Christ the Redeemer first, Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastião, Escadaria Selarón, lunch, then Sugarloaf Mountain) was well planned to beat bigger crowds and wait times. The day never felt long or like it was dragging although I was tired at the end. As advertised you will drive past the famous soccer stadium and where they do Carnivale, but that is it. I didn't love the lunch, but I am not much of a meat eater. If you like meat, you will enjoy the place they take you. Everything is included in your ticket except whatever you drink and have for dessert.
If you've never seen Christ the Redeemer in person it is certainly impressive and worth doing even if you aren't religious. It was crowded, but I am guessing it is crowded all day every day. The Escadaria Selarón steps were really neat. You won't have time there to do much other than take a few pictures and walk up the steps and back if you feel like it, but it was still a highlight for me. Finally, the Sugarloaf Mountain experience was something I will never forget. If you're afraid of heights I'm not sure what to tell you - close your eyes maybe - but it was fantastic. The cable car rides were amazing - pretty smooth too - and well organized. The views can't be beaten. If I ever come back here I will 100% do this again.
In sum, this tour was well organized, safe, and allowed me to pack into my one free day the chance to see all the major tourist attractions in Rio. I recommend Zeni as a guide unconditionally.
This was a well organised trip made better by Letitia who kept everyone informed and included.
Everything ran smoothly and was vastly enjoyable.
