Rachel was the most attentive and fun tour guide ever! She made sure we stayed on track, in a group and was very informative. She was so much fun and so helpful to the point that we requested her for another tour! She has amazing energy and the sights were everything.

I went on this tour in April of 2026. I was visiting Brazil and Rio for work. I was fortunate to have a Portuguese speaking Carioca (someone from Rio) as my +1 for the day. The tour guide, Zeni, was terrific. She spoke at least 4 languages, maybe more - English was definitely one of them. You might want to learn a few words and phrases in Portuguese, but you can get by without it. The van for the tour was large, well-maintained, and air-conditioned. Zeni did a great job with communication the day of the tour during pickup, and throughout the day using What's App. I never once felt lost, unclear, or unsafe. Zeni handled securing tickets for the train ride up the mountain to Christ the Redeemer, and also for the Sugarloaf Mountain "ride." Although it was a tour, Zeni let us split up at the main attractions for enough time to explore without needing to be attached to her hip and try and hear her give explanations amongst the crowds - which I very much appreciated. The time to reconvene and location was always clear. She gave clear safety instructions when needed (at a couple spots on the tour you don't want to have your phone in your hand for fear of it being snatched - but that's anywhere in Rio). The tour's organization (Christ the Redeemer first, Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastião, Escadaria Selarón, lunch, then Sugarloaf Mountain) was well planned to beat bigger crowds and wait times. The day never felt long or like it was dragging although I was tired at the end. As advertised you will drive past the famous soccer stadium and where they do Carnivale, but that is it. I didn't love the lunch, but I am not much of a meat eater. If you like meat, you will enjoy the place they take you. Everything is included in your ticket except whatever you drink and have for dessert.
If you've never seen Christ the Redeemer in person it is certainly impressive and worth doing even if you aren't religious. It was crowded, but I am guessing it is crowded all day every day. The Escadaria Selarón steps were really neat. You won't have time there to do much other than take a few pictures and walk up the steps and back if you feel like it, but it was still a highlight for me. Finally, the Sugarloaf Mountain experience was something I will never forget. If you're afraid of heights I'm not sure what to tell you - close your eyes maybe - but it was fantastic. The cable car rides were amazing - pretty smooth too - and well organized. The views can't be beaten. If I ever come back here I will 100% do this again.
In sum, this tour was well organized, safe, and allowed me to pack into my one free day the chance to see all the major tourist attractions in Rio. I recommend Zeni as a guide unconditionally.

This was a good day and our tour guide was a little more engaged than the last guide that we had with the same company. That being said, he's really responsible for transportation and tickets from place to place - there's not a lot of discussion on the bus about places you are going or landmarks you are passing. What he was good about was getting us through some really big, long lines at the landmarks we were visiting, and that was huge. Don't do this trip for the lunch - it's basically a food hall that is for tours only and the food is a step below average and they rip you off with the drinks of soda and water!

Mechanical problems with the transportation, delays, unkept promises, broken air conditioning ,split attention, tourist traps. Mediocre lunch. This tour did not at all meet my expectations. I understand that some sights are simply crowded, and some days are hot. But many parts of this tour that are in the operators sole control failed. Definitely would not recommend.

A great way to see all the major sights in one day. We got to go up to both Chtrist the Redeemer and Sugarloaf, as well as other significant sights. We could not have seen a fraction of that on our own.

The bus was 25 minutes late picking us up after making a big deal how important it was for us to be on time.
The guide was blunt/abrupt to the point of being rude.
We had very little time at any stop.
It was way over priced.
An awful experience. Makes me question using Viator again.

The best tour I’ve ever been on! Don’t go to the sites on your own. Firstly some of the places are not so safe but the wonderful guide Emma showed us where to go and be safe. However it’s beating the MASSIVE crowds that was so great. We would never have got in and seen so much in our own. The lines were so long but we were always in the very best spot to cut the lines! The lunch was amazing! Not some cheap boxed lunch but a proper glamorous restaurant and the food was non-stop! Amazing!

On the whole we enjoyed our tour as we covered the renowned sights of Rio but were disappointed that there wasn't the Ipanema driveby as listed in the description.
The guide. who I think was called Elena was very accommodating taking pictures , knowledgeable, informative particularly on the flora and fauna of the region.
Also, a mention too for our calm, cool lovely driver Michelle for her safe driving and pick ups from the busy touristy sights and crazy Brazilian drivers.
We usually find that included lunches aren't up to much. This wasn't any different! Whilst the included barbecue did have a variety of different meats on a skewer the side buffet, however, was scanty with just the remains of luke warm dishes and withering salad.

Great day out. Stuck to schedule. Joao the guide was great. Really knew his stuff. Great mix of time with guide and time on our own. Would recommend the full tour and train for this tour.
Joao knew a bad storm was coming (a severe weather alert was issued locally) and made sure we got down from Sugar Loaf mountain in plenty of time and back to our hotels safely.

It was a small group tour which is great. The guide was talented as she had to speak in three languages given the people on the tour. Whilst this was commendable it was difficult the concentrate to listen out for the parts that related to us. It also meant there was little opportunity to ask questions as she spoke. The guide also did not accompany us on the stop off to give further explanations of the sights we were visiting which was a shame.

Regarding your comment about the guide not accompanying the group during some stops, we were informed that on the way back from Sugarloaf Mountain there was a moment when the guide could not find you, and later learned that you had decided to go down on your own and boarded directly with the driver.
It was therefore a matter of miscommunication and timing rather than abandonment, and we will review this aspect to avoid similar situations and enhance the overall experience.

The weather was atrocious but we can’t blame the tour company.
We didn’t know that the tour was bilingual, which wasn’t a big deal except that the tour guide spoke allot more in Spanish than in English even though there were more anglophones that Spanish people on this tour. We felt we missed out allot on the historical background.

Excellent day tour. This is the way to see highlights of Rio in a day! Our tour guide Leandro was exceptional, allowing sufficient time to explore each venue, being very informative without the constant stream of trivia some guides feel necessary. The included traditional Brazilian meal was superb!
If like us you have limited time in Rio, then this is a perfect way to see all the key attractions in a day. The transport is by a modern 12 seater minibus that was immaculately clean.
I highly recommend this tour!

Great itinerary but the guide was terrible ! Her communication was poor and difficult to understand. She never answered a question directly and gave very poor instructions on meeting times etc. it was only the guests looking out for each other thst kept the group together at times. The bus had several broken seats abd air con on full blast. One couple bailed out before the final stop to Sugar Loaf Mountain as the tour was running late due to a massive wait at Christ the Redeemer which the guide seemed non plussed why we had tickets to board the train with a 90 minute wait.
Lunch was good and plentiful and we did complete the itinerary although it took over 9 hours.

I do not like organized tours as you normally get rushed along - this one was no different. However, if you have limited time (i.e in Rio for the first time for less than a week, it is an excellent way to see all the major points without worrying about public transport and queuing for tickets etc. So for that reason I would say it was excellent.
