An okay ride, unfortunately cloudy over Christ the Redeemer for us even though it was a reasonable clear day

Starting point is about 45mins drive from centre of Rio, so you spend a lot longer in the taxi than you do on your helicopter ride. Guess that’s why it’s a little cheaper. No safety talk, very little interaction with staff before boarding, then you are off. It’s a pretty small helicopter of its for three of you so beware if you are a little claustrophobic.

I purchase a ticket to flight around Christ the Redeemer with Helicopter Co on January 8, 2026 for my birthday Feb 13th. I messaged them and asked them what time would the helicopter flight be. They responded and stated 4pm I can arrive at 3:30. I responded ok. The morning of the flight I was traveling and received a message that the flight time was for 3:00. I told them that wasn’t the time they originally told me. I told them I wouldn’t be able to make it because I had to check into my Airbnb. They told me since I couldn’t make it they would have to cancel. So instead of checking into my Airbnb I went straight to Helicopter Rio. I have all my bags with me carrying down the entire Helicopter Rio. I get there and I had the worst experience ever. They made me ride in the back of the go cart. I sat in the middle. The other riders closed all the windows, it was hot. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I told the manage about my experience and she said she couldn’t do anything.

A private flight option was also offered, but it was not selected, and the shared flight conditions were accepted. We understand that the middle seat may be less comfortable; however, this possibility is communicated in advance to all passengers. We regret that the experience did not meet your expectations and remain available for any further clarification.

I booked a shared helicopter flight. About two hours before the scheduled departure, Helicopter Rio contacted me to inform me that due to unstable weather conditions, they could not guarantee full visibility of the scenery during my flight time. They asked whether I preferred to proceed anyway or reschedule. Since I was leaving Rio the following day, I replied that I wanted to keep the flight as planned, or, if they decided to cancel it, to receive a refund. They informed me that they would need to check with the other passengers on the shared flight. I did not receive any response in the following minutes, and as the flight location was about one hour away from where I was staying, I had no choice but to take an Uber and head to their premises to avoid missing the flight. After arriving, I completed the registration process and all required formalities. However, only about 20 minutes before the scheduled flight time, I was informed that the flight was cancelled because the other passengers on the shared flight had decided to reschedule for another day. While I was eventually refunded, I consider this behavior unprofessional. The flight could and should have been cancelled earlier, before passengers were expected to travel to the premises. As a result of this last-minute cancellation, I wasted approximately three hours traveling back and forth and incurred the cost of two Uber rides, only to be informed at the last moment that my flight was cancelled due to the decision of the other passengers.
