Raul and Pedro were great. Celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary, they truly made it memorable. The stories of Portugal, his humor and graciousness added to the adventure. We would recommend this to anyone looking to get a true taste of Porto.

Almost cancelled, glid we didn't

We purchased the Private Douro River Sunset Sailing Cruise and the day before we were supposed to go we were told that the sailboat had not gotten its certification because of the nationwide power outage. We were offered a Dutch sloep instead. Since my wife was a sailor & this was supposed to be a surprise for her, needless to say, I was a little disappointed and almost cancelled the cruise. I’m so glad we didn’t. We were given an extended cruise for our inconvenience. Since it wasn’t a sailboat we were able to float under the six bridges as well as go out to sea to watch the sunset, and what a sunset we had. Raúl and first mate George were so knowledgeable about the area and port wines, they were so much fun, they made sure we both had a fantastic and memorable experience. Thanks Raúl.

Wonderful private sailing experience

When asked by us, the captain Raul gave us a choice to sail on the ocean or go up the Douro river. It was a perfect day for actually sailing so we went out on the ocean. it was fabulous to be under full sail as this is something we love. We did Port tasting while we were sailing and that was done well. Raul and George were Very skilled and a pleasure to have as our captain and mate. A very fun and very enjoyable experience. It was a pleasure to be on board this sailboat. It was a high point of our time in Porto.

Highly recommend this to anyone!! This was a beautiful guided tour with loads of porto wine to taste. Raul and Jorge made the trip so much more enjoyable by being kind and attentive. We elected to take the private sailing tour with port tasting. What a great adventure!! Raul and his 1st mate George were fantastic!! They provided a unique insight to the history of Portugal, Porto and the Douro Valley. They became instant friends as we sailed under the beautiful bridges of Porto and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Unbelievable Experience with Raul

I cannot express how welcoming the captain was for our cruise. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and Raul pulled out all the stops. His boat was immaculate, his experience as a captain made us feel very safe, and his love and knowledge of his city made our trip. We could not have asked for a better anniversary cruise. If you are on the fence, just book it. It is so much better and worth the additional cost over cruises we passed with packed boats and tourists bumping into each other to take a photo.

One of the best parts of our trip. Raul and Pedro were fantastic….a fun and informative tour to say the least. Boat ride was incredible, even took us out a bit into the ocean to experience some waves. His port selections were great, and we brought our own bottle of wine and charceuterie from one of the Porto markets….it was a lovely time also helped by lovely weather. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

La gentillesse de Raoul , ses explications sur Porto au cours de la croisière. A l’écoute de notre souhait de naviguer à la voile. Idéal a faire le matin avant les grosses chaleurs. Découverte d’un excellent porto blanc dont les caves sont toujours une propriété portugaise à Vila Nova de Gaia.
