We did the half day tour didn’t realize almost the first 2 hours was a walking tour. The winery was fantastic.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you so much for your 5-star review. We're glad you enjoyed the experience overall and especially appreciated the winery visit. Hope to see you again in the near future.

The Porto Tour I booked was a disaster. First, there was no guide or information at the ship. All the information we had was the location of the tour operator’s office. That office was located in town which we reached via a 45 minute rush hour bus ride only to learn that the cruise lines drop off was three miles from the tour office. We received a phone call at 8:55 am telling us we had a tour at 9:00 am. We explained that we were 3 miles away and had to walk that distance. The caller said he would wait ten minutes. Obviously his solution was not viable and we gave up on making it to the tour. I expected a refund but was denied. We had two other Viator tours where finding the start location was an issue.

Inflexible response from customer service when I learned that I would not be able to join the tour at the scheduled meeting point.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thank you for your comment but the tours are scheduled in advance ( 48hrs before). If Customer can not go to the meeting point must inform in advance( at least 24hrs before ) and not on the same day

Amazing friendly guides. Small group ended up being just my family so it was even more fun especially as we had a 14mth old baby with us. Wine tasting was great and the views of the city, will always be memorable.
Helen R, May 2015
Little bit to little information and the groups should still be rather in one language.

A shambles
A Sham! We didn't get a licensed tour guide. We got a driver who dropped us off at various places in the rain, went for coffee and smoke then returned.
The Graham's winery tour was abysmal ! Not what I wanted for me or my two children which we could have booked if we wanted!

While I paid for this tour we were not able to be included at there was confusion regarding pick up point. We arrived on a cruise ship and pick ups were in Porto which was 30 minutes away. The tour company did try to make arrangements.

My family and I (2 children) were able to have our own private tour of Porto with our guide Joao. They even brought a child seat for my 3 year old. Now talk about service. They picked us up directly at the hotel and even had a reminder for us at the front desk!! Impressed!! Because it was just us for 4 he even drove up to see the beach and area of Matosinhos....nothing but restaurants that serve fresh grilled seafood!!! Finished the day at Grahams Port Factory for Port tasting!!

This tour was not exactly as Viator describes it to be. Firstly, there was no "walking tour through the oldest quarter of Ribeira", and secondly they did not take us to Foz. We were dropped off outside the Cathedral and told to go inside and then meet the guide 15 minutes later. We were then dropped off outside the famous Bookshop and allowed free time there for a few minutes. The major part of this tour consisted of a visit to Graham's Port Lodge, where the guide once more left us to our own devices, and we were taken on a boring tour of the wine cellars by an arrogant little guy who rushed through his obviously rehearsed commentaries, and when it came to the wine tasting at the end, he disappeared, leaving us to stand around while other groups were given wine samples . This tour was a total waste of money, and not what we expected it to be.

Only 4 of us on this tour and our guide was great. Highly recommended and the final stop at Graham's Port Lodge crowned it off superbly.

We recently did this tour in March 2014. We were picked up promptly at our hotel by our wonderful guide Claudia from Living Tours in Porto. It was raining, but she still made out tour fantastic. We started off in the government square with the city hall, then off to the Sao Bento train station to see all the beautiful azulejos. Then, we visited the cathedral with great views of the city from the top. Finally, we made our way to Vila Nova de Gaia, across the river, to visit the Graham's cellars. This was the best part of the tour in my opinion. We had a guided tour and learned about port wine, and then off to their beautiful tasting room to try 3 different kinds of ports. Their tasting room is gorgeous with views of the Douro river and Porto. Awesome tour! We flew into Porto at 9 am, out tour was at 2 pm, and by the end of our first day we were already acquainted with the city. We topped off our night with an amazing dinner at the Encondidinho restuarant and it was the perfect first day in Porto! Thank you Claudia for your time and attention! Loved it!

A highly knowledgeable and passionate guide gave us a through introduction to the history and many fascinating sites of Porto, plus an unexpected visit to Grahams port lodge in Villa Nova de Guia. Paulo was very passionate about her city and country and this showed in the depth of knowledge of Porto. An excellent introduction to Porto, despite the rain, which we followed up with two more excellent trips to the Duoro River and Santiago de la Campostella. Well worth the time and money.

Interesting tour of Porto. The visit to the winery was particularly good.
Lise V, Jun 2013
This was a good tour. We ended up being the only two on the tour so it was like having a private tour of the city. He was really nice and very well informed on all the sites of the city. We really enjoyed this tour.
damus, Feb 2013
We had a great time. The tour guide tried her best to keep the tour interesting despite the rain. We really appreciated her efforts.
Ann L, Oct 2012
Trip was not well organized, it done everything to spoil our view of beautiful city!
It was complete waist of money.
City was closed for marathon and guide had no clue where to go , as a result it was not city tour, but 3 block around the river tour.
No decent explanation of history or architecture.
To find out where we will start tour we have to call to Las Vegas, - local number did not answer at all!
You better find other local agency.
