Monastary and Cellars

A great tour experience with our guide Tiago. We were at the monastary that overlooked the Douro River and against the backdrop of the old and new city of Porto. Next was a self guided tour at Taylor"s Cellars that ended with a delicious wine tasting. Amazing experience. Highly recommended.

Really our fault for low star rating. We booked quickly during lunch on arrival day and expected to see a little of the city. Our group of six was split up into two tuk Tuks and driven to Taylor wine cellars and given tickets and listening devices for the tour. If you do the whole tour and wine tasting at the end that is all you get because it takes up the whole time. I would suggest going to the gardens first and the going to the cellars and then telling the participants how much time it takes for wine tasting (1/2 hour) and plan the self guided tour pace accordingly.
