Porto Walking Tour

Nuno from C&D Tours was our fantastic guide! He is was fun and knowledgeable. He met us and started the tour at Clerigos Tower. And we were able to go right into the church, avoiding lines. From there, the tour was geographically logical and efficient, and each site was connected by Nuno’s storytelling to Porto’s peculiar and fascinating history: the former prison, train station, Palace of Justice, the Bishops residence, more churches and why each church was a different impact on Porto, Lbraria Lello, Rue Flores. We don’t understand the interconnection between the Roman Catholic Church and Porto’s political story. We had a port tasting which was also a fascinating explanation of how the making of port and how it is instrumental to the history of the city. We also got restaurant recommendations, so we avoided the river tourist maze and later ate at small, more traditional Portuguese establishments. Definitely recommend this tour—it’s not too strenuous for how hilly Porto can be, and it’s a great value
