Emma, our guide, taught all about the history of the Market. We enjoyed a glass of Wine while sampling fish, cheeses n meats. We the n when outside to a pastry shop where we finished up with desserts n coffee! A fine afternoon with a great guide!

The Bolhao Markets are a great place to taste and enjoy the produce available in the city of Porto, and it helps if you have a ‘foodie’ as a guide to enable you to know what products are best, and which stall to buy from. Anna proved a lovely young companion, who inspired us to return here almost every day after her tour, to buy our lunch!

What a great way to experience this fantastic market and the fish of Portugal - codfish! Our guide Ana was so knowledgeable and welcoming. I particularly appreciated how she went out of her way to work around my food restrictions and preferences.

Had a lovely experience at this tour with Ana. There was lots of food to try, all of it delicious! And there was enough cultural information with out it being overwhelming. The tour guide was friendly and fun.

This was a fantastic tour . Our guide Ana Baguim was knowledgeable, charming , had perfect command Of the English language and patient with all of my picture taking . She had the best restaurants picked out …shout out to MO Maria Odette and food stalls at the Mercado Bolhao. Her knowledge of wines, history of Portugal and food culture was outstanding . I would hire her for an entire day ! I can’t say enough positive about her and the the excursion . I love Viator!!

Anna, our tour guide was beyond amazing. Her knowledge and personality was so appreciated. The market tour and tasting had us salivating! We bought cheeses, dried meats, sardines, and fresh breads and pastries. Anna then took us to Maria Odete, a restaurant we had visited the day before with our food walking tour led by Marianna(another amazing tour guide!) We got to see Graca, the sweet and kind hostess, who greeted us with a hug! The food of Porto is amazing. There’s only one thing better and that is the people of Porto! They are incredibly warm and friendly! Obrigada, Porto!

Ana was amazing, we had the best time on this tour! Tried so many amazing things, wine, cheeses, sardines, meats, codfish dishes, and the best nata ever. She answered all of our questions, she was patient, kind and very friendly, and had an amazing list of recommendations for the rest of our stay. Do not go with a full stomach :)) Thank you Ana!!!

Great Personal Food Tour

Ana was a wonderful tour guide. Her English was impeccable, and she was full of knowledge, and background stories of the many various local specialties we tasted. Don't plan to have a large breakfast before going on this tour, as the amount of exceptional tastings, and lunch will be plenty. In fact, we aren't even planning on having dinner tonight. The Bolhão market has everything, including spices and food ingredients not found in even the largest local supermarkets. Lunch was very tasty, and so was the local version of the pastel de nata we had for dessert. What also impressed us was the fact that we were the only booked couple for today, and the tour provider didn't cancel because of "low turnout".

Best tour we’ve ever done! Ana made us feel so comfortable and was so informative. In the markedly we tried amazing green wine, meats, cheeses, sardines and olive oils. We then had more wine and three codfish dishes at a restaurant and a pasta deal nata and port on another local cafe. Everything is included in the tour and it is amazing value for money. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone - best one we did in all three Portuguese cities we stayed in !
