The ride does not reach the crater rim - we'll be riding at 400/500 mt high above the sea level!For crater access, we recommend combining your horseback experience with our Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius tours, or you can visit the crater separately via the designated hiking trail from the upper parking area. This was a really experience especially fir beginners and kids. The views towards Mt Vesuvius and the bay around Napoli were spectacular. The staff were lovely and shared interesting facts about the area. It was a small, slow-paced personalised experience. I would definitely recommend especially for families.

I think it should be clearly that the ride is not going to take you anywhere near the Vesuvius mountain. I was kind of hoping to be able to see it up-close, but that wasn't the case. its just a basic horse riding experience. You could get it anywhere. wasn't anything great

We are very saddened by this review. Despite trying to call you and sending several messages, we did not receive a reply to have a direct conversation. When this happens, it makes us very sad because we would always like the chance to explain—specifically, to explain what was perhaps not read before booking. As the name "horseback ride on Vesuvius" suggests, the experience takes place inside the Vesuvius National Park at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. The only horse trails in the park are at this height. Getting closer to the crater is illegal and extremely unsafe for both the horses and the riders, and this is clearly specified in two different parts of our experience description. From our vineyard, it is possible to admire a splendid view of the Gulf of Sorrento, Capri, and Mount Vesuvius itself, but it is highly likely that on a cloudy day at the end of February, the sky might simply be overcast. We are deeply sorry that you reduced all of this to a basic experience you feel you could get anywhere. Behind this work, there is the true dedication of a team working hard for the well-being of the horses and for your safety, while sharing the story of our territory, our wines, the wildlife, and our region. Reviewing our product with two stars destroys all our hard work, and the missed opportunity to speak with you directly is what hurts the most for all of us who are deeply committed to providing our customers with a top-quality experience.

We had an incredible time horse riding! The entire experience was so easy and enjoyable. We were picked up by our driver, Ruslan, who collected us from the collection point and drove us up the mountain to the stables where we met Alessandra who gave us helmets and safety information. We then started riding through vineyards for an hour going up, down and through vineyards whilst seeing the most amazing views of Vesuvius and Pompeii. Alessandra made the whole experience smooth sailing, talking us through what the vineyards made, as well as advising us what to do whenever the horses were trying to snack too much. Around halfway through she took photos of us on the horses with Vesuvius in the background which is just the most amazing keepsake from the memory! We ended the ride with some time at the end for the horses to graze whilst we sat on the horses enjoying the view, and Alessandra even gave us some fresh oranges from the trees. I would absolutely do this again and recommend the experience to anybody, very beginner friendly and shoutout to Brenda and Mary, the amazing horses who were just the best behaved girls ever!

This tour was fun. Not really on Mount Vesuvius, but you can see Mount Vesuvius several miles away. Beautiful area. A little strange that our guides were not on horseback, but were walking alongside us as we rode. I would’ve liked to trot or canter a little. This ride is perfect for beginners.

Thank you so much for your review! I truly appreciate your feedback. I wanted to kindly clarify a few points to ensure everything is clear. The horseback ride takes place on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, as mentioned in the description and reflected in the photos. As you can see, we do not ride near the crater itself, as it is illegal to go closer due to safety regulations imposed by the National Park.
I'm glad you mentioned that the area was beautiful, it's always wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the views from the vineyard! Regarding the guides, because the groups are sometimes larger, they prefer to walk alongside the horses to ensure they can monitor everyone’s well-being. If the weather isn’t ideal (windy or light rain), they also walk to provide extra safety.
We don’t allow trotting or cantering during the ride because our guests have varying levels of experience with horses. If you’re an experienced rider, you’ll know that when one horse starts cantering, others often follow, which might make those who are less comfortable feel uneasy, especially if it’s their first or second time riding. We do offer a chance to trot or canter briefly at the end of the ride, in our arena, where we also offer lessons to students, if you had asked during the ride, we would have been happy to accommodate you! since that's a horseback ride, not a riding lesson, and our priority is always the safety and comfort of all participants, especially those who are new to riding and are looking for a peaceful experience during their vacation :)

Myself, husband and 8 year old daughter are beginners at horse riding.
Giovanni and team were fantastic with us, especially with my daughter.
Talking us through how to mount and ride.
The horses were beautiful, well looked after. Giovanni knew his horses so well.
They were lovely and had funny personalities. Horses Claire, Mary and Hector. 😍
We rode for an hour around the vineyard and the scenery was beautiful. The experience was fantastic.

This was an amazing experience. My husband and I had never rode before, instructions were easy to follow and the horses were so calm. We spent around an hour going through vineyards with amazing views especially of mt. Vesuvius. Our guide gave us some interesting facts and was always checking we were ok. This was the perfect experience for us and would definitely recommend.

The horseback riding tour was the best thing of our whole Italy trip!! It was amazing!! Sofia did a great job. She was very kind, patient and friendly. She explained us everything regarding the horses in detail, so that even we as beginners could get along well. Sofia also gave us lots of sightseeing tips. The homemade wine was wonderful!! My Mum and I absolutely loved this experience. The horses were friendly and healthy, and the range of horses was spectacular. Our guide was Sophia. She was SO lovely - kind and considerate to us, as well as having lots of knowledge.
The food afterwards was delicious - the bread perfect, and even if it was quite cloudy, the view from the top was still good.
The route was beautiful through the vineyards. The horses were nice, and the company provided suitable horses which were easy to control and many of the other horses we looked at were friendly.
Overall, a wonderful experience, I would recommend you try it if you are near Pompeii!! It was an amazing time my mum and I shall never forget!!!

Totally fun experience. A wonderful way to spend the morning! The guide, Giuseppe, was knowledgeable, fun, and considerate. He worked with us to figure out a time to come out that worked for us, and picked us up at the train station at Pompeii (you can take the Circumvesuviana train from Naples - super easy to get there!). We had a great trail ride through the vineyards, then back to the barn, where he gave us a tour of the horses and sat us down to a delicious lunch. (I need to buy the local wine - it was really delicious, lightly sparkling.) Really a fun, interesting way of spending the morning. I recommend this excursion wholeheartedly!

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Set off from an idyllic village riding school, wind your way through the Vesuvian vineyards, take in spectacular vistas in every direction, and return for a delicious spread of local produce. The animals are treated with the utmost respect and care, and are perfectly calm and well-trained — my equine guide, Eraldo, needed barely any input from me! Our human guide Giulia was a delight. Genuine highlight of my visit to Italy!

This activity was booked for my daughters 30th birthday while on holiday. Our guide Guiseppe was absolutely fantastic, so friendly & very funny. Our horses were beautiful and we spent over an hour trotting through the vineyards. Which was then followed by a wonderful lunch with local wine. Neither of us had ridden before.. But would thoroughly recommend this activity to anyone.

Everything about this experience was just perfect. Giuseppe and his team did a wonderful job of communicating with us, making a exception to their route and picking us up at our hotel as we spent the night in town, and delivering us with a very nice family to the riding area. This was not your garden variety horse ride in the park experience. The operators here are experienced horse people, and made sure everyone was comfortable and well seated on their mounts before we left the staging area. It would be fair to say we even got a bit of a riding lesson not just a get on your horse and go lesson The ride was beautiful across the Vesuvius Park, the grape orchards were an interesting addition to the trip, the horses were well trained as to where they were going, but still required you to pay enough attention that you knew that this was not an amusement park ride but a very well conceived horseback event. Our group included two children and two couples all of whom were very comfortable when they arrived and seem to have a good time going through the fields with their escort. The ride was long enough to enjoy the countryside but not so long as the cause difficulty for inexperienced riders. We were treated to a very nice social occasion a lovely Italian traditional cold platter lunch with red wine and cola. We were delivered safely back to our starting points. Everything about this tour is first class it is just as well executed as any tour we have ever taken. We cannot compliment The operators enough for the really nice job they did here, including sneaking us a couple of pictures we will treasure always. Thank you so much Giuseppe you really made our stay in Pompeii very special

The host was friendly and professional..he put my family at ease who had not ridden for a long time. The horses were beautiful and well care for. Despite the mist and not having much of a view the experience through the vines and national park was wonderful.

Getting out to a farm where they have horseriding under the mount of vesusivus. Excellent guide and treat you like a family. The ride was excellent and the scenerio is fantastic. They also provide you with some snacks and wine which is not what I expected either. Romantic excursion. Great for couples and families!

Giuseppe and his family took good care of us. I am an inexperienced horse rider. But, the horses are gentle and know the trail which made me feel safe and less nervous. And, Giuseppe was there to instruct us along the way.

This trip was fantastic. From value for money and overall enjoyment it was hands down the best part of our trip.
The guides are friendly and personable and able to chat and laugh with you from the start. The actual trek was brilliant, the horses are so tame and know what they are doing so it gives novice riders like myself a sense of ease when going through the vineyards. The views on the trek are stunning and just all together it is a great way to spend a few hours.
And last but certainly not least. The after ride snacks, of cheeses, bruschetta and wine are absolutely incredible and would have been worth the money of the excursion was just that meal!
Would 100% recommend to anyone.

This was such a beautiful part of our trip. The view of the vineyard was breathtaking and the property itself was beautiful. We were given food from the property which tasted wonderful. Our guides were incredibly charming and we were sad to leave them. They really added something special to our trip!

Highly recommend. Top notch professional stable and owner. Giuseppe went out of his way to make my daughters birthday special. He moved our time to the afternoon to make it a private ride for our family and added a birthday cake ro top it off. The ride was magical through vineyards and olive groves. Stunning views of Naples, the sea and Vesuvius. The horses were well trained and well cared for. Giuseppe took extra time to let my daughter work on her horsemanship skills and we got to see a lot of the beautiful horses on the property. The wine and spread of salamis and cheese was a nice bonus at the end of the ride to share our experiences and curb our hunger. One of our best day excursions in the Naples area.

We had the most perfect day on this ride! Our trail instructor spoke excellent English and engaged all of us individually and used our experience riding to pick the perfect horse for each of us. The animals are in excellent condition and are clearly well cared for and healthy. The food at the end of the trail was delicious and the perfect way to end the ride. You couldn't ask for a better experience for the price!

A very well spent afternoon in Pompeii’s vineyard trails. After a long and hot day exploring the ruins, this tour was an excellent and chill activity with our friendly and kind guide (sophie) who was also knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the trip. You arrive at an authentic ranch/farm with a warm local welcome, the horses have lots of personality and you have fun during the whole horse ride, it might be for everyone as most of the time spent is spent in brief jungle like terrain but mostly vineyards - which a blessing but at time it can be very distracting for some horses. You do get a glimpse of mount vesuvius(if that is what you are aiming for then limit your expectations). Then we had a lovely local dinner at the ranch which had an excellent atmosphere and view of the city. One thing I would recommend is this tour title be renamed as can be misleading to some expecting a full on Vesuvius experience. Still amazing and charming experience!
