Be prepared for huge crowds everywhere you go in the Louvre. It took us 45 minutes to get in to the museum and through security. I cannot image what it would be like to visit in July. 9 million visitors a year

Our paid for, planned trip didn’t happen because Viator didn’t update the app or subsequent emails of a time change of one hour earlier .

I was a little hesitant about the price versus the price of entry. I shouldn’t have worried. Our guide was a fantastic resource for first time visitors. Violette was extraordinary—an endless source of stories and an impressively well-educated art historian. I’ve done the standard Louvre highlights tour before, yet she made it feel entirely new, as though I were seeing and understanding the art for the first time. What made her tour especially memorable was the way she wove in pieces I had overlooked before and tied everything together in a beautifully clear timeline, linking the evolution of the Louvre’s architecture with the chronology of the artworks. This could be personal bias because I generally don't do tours of museums (I booked this one because the Louvre had sold out tickets from the general website), but I found the whole thing a bit rushed. There was a lot of emphasis on the history of the Louvre building itself, which was cool, but my kid and I would have liked to have had more time with the art. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable, but there was a sense of trying to tick boxes of specific things to see, rather than taking a beat to appreciate the art itself. I'd recommend this to people who want a quick, easy, "in-and-out" way to see the Louvre, but probably less so to people wanting to engage with art.

They changed the time and I arrived by the new time and they would not respond to texts before or once I got there. There were no green signs as they said there would be and nobody ever responded. I texted while we were still on our way that we were still in the Uber at 2:06. Our original time was 2:30, they said we had to be there by 2:15 latest. We were there at 2:11 and they never even responded after my text at 2:06 saying we were almost there

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We completely understand how stressful it must have been to have had trouble locating your guide and feel unable to get a response. We’re very sorry this was your experience.
To provide clarity, for security and to allow guides to focus on delivering the tour, personal contact details are not shared and guides turn off their phones once the tour begins. Tours cannot be held up for late arrivals as they are time sensitive and would disrupt the experience for other guests.
We do provide a freephone number for guests to call on the day if they need urgent assistance. While we do not offer a text option, our emails are responded to within 24 hours, and our automatic replies advise guests to call the freephone if immediate help is required. We also ask guests to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start so our staff can assist on-site with any difficulties.
As we want all our guests to get the experience they booked, we do offer a rescheduling service. If you would still like to do the tour, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to assist.

Today was a terrible let down. My teen daughter and I are on a special trip and planned our visit to Louvre in advance with Viator so that we would make sure not to miss this experience. When we showed up to check in for the tour, we were told that they did not have enough tickets, and we were canceled. Six other members were able to go on the tour, but my daughter and I, and another couple were turned away. Last minute, not able to get any tickets for anything else, and the last day of our trip. It still doesn’t even show on Viator that we were canceled and we got this questionnaire to rate our tour! It never happened!!! How can you book a tour, take money, confirm, confirm again, send reminders, and then cancel on someone when they show up excited to check in?!?!

Awful!!! The tour guide arrived a min before the tour even though we were told to be there early. They left our group midway through. My son was too short to see the Mona Lisa and no one offered any alternative. A total waste!

Arrived at the meeting point as instructed, but there was no tour operating and no guide present. Locals confirmed the tour did not exist at that time. This was a waste of time and unacceptable. Customers should not be charged for services not provided.

I was traveling with my daughter and we wanted a an overview of the Louve. Andrea did a phenomenal job communicating with us about where and when to meet. He was there early. If you want to experience the most popular pieces in the museum without standing on line for hours to enter with a general admission ticket this is the way to go. Our guide Avi was entertaining and provided interesting information about the history of the museum. His knowledge of BART history and ability to describe the paintings and sculptures were second to none. Visiting the museum has been a lifelong dream for me. This was certainly worth every cent of the price of admission.
