MaryCatherine_M, Mar 2026
Stephanie was charming, knowledgeable, tireless and just delightful. I’d been to Musée D’Orsay a number of times before, but this was the first time with a guide. I learned so much! Should have done it years ago …
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hello MaryCatherine! It was a joy having you and a joy too to know we hit a bulls eye in exactly what we aim to provide : an experience that offers even old hands along with newbiesnew perspectives and information on the Orsay's magnificent collections. It is a delight to know how much we succeeded-thank you so much for the wonderful review which we'll pass right on to Stéphanie now!

Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hello Blyss (what a beautiful name!) - thanks so very much for the fantastic recommendation. Mika is a great ambassador of all you can expect from a Memories guide, fun and expertise, style and substance all in one package; we'll transmit this to her and it'll make her day, as it has for the whole Memories family!
Hillary_P, Mar 2026
Anthony was one of the most engaging tour guides we have ever had. He gave just the right amount of background to understand and appreciate the paintings and the historical context!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hello Hillary, we agree that Anthony is a great example of all that Memories offers in the finest guided experiences available, having perfected the craft and art of the visit. We are so glad we could share that skill and talent with you at the Orsay, where the history of Paris is so key to understanding the collections, and the history of art is on full display to those who know how to convey it to others. Thanks so much for the superb review, it means a great deal to have earned it!
Mark_R, Mar 2026
The Orsay museum is spectacular and a must see, particularly if you like impressionist art. Our tour guide Julie was wonderful, very knowledgeable, speaks fluent English. We learned a lot and had a great time.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
It is such a joy sharing a trip in time to the Orsay's 19th Century with you, a cluing you in on the stories that make the paintings and sculpture bristle with life, as though you could step right through the frame. Thanks so much for booking with us, Julie loved having you!
Brianna_C, Feb 2026
I like art very much, but I do not have any educational background in art history or technique. This was a great tour with highlights of the museum. I really appreciated Claire's humor and her knowledge of the art. It was also nice that the tour ended inside the museum. My partner and I continued to walk around after the tour. I would definitely recommend this if you want something within 1.5 - 2 hrs and don't have an already in depth knowledge of impressionist art.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We at Memories just love it when we can give a tour to a kindred spirit, and love it too when you go off afterward to make your own discoveries and favorites! The thing with our tours is that we meet you where you're at, wherever that may be, and can speak on any level of interest or knowledge, from absolute beginners to those in the know. It was a delight to do that for you with Claire's fantastic guide skills -- we'll pass on your kind comments, straightaway!
Elizabeth_S, Feb 2026

Hello Theresa - we so appreciate your recommendation, thank you! The Memories family makes every effort to show you the Orsay's key pieces that tell the story of how 19th C art went from humdrum to Impressionist glory in the space of a few decades, with all thebackstory that makes them come alive for you. Wonderfull collection of impressionists
My guided tour with Claire was very helpful.
I am planning a painting trip on the seine and Oise in September to paint where the impressionists painted.
With the help of my guide Claire I was able to locate several paintings in the area where we wish to paint.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Hello Robin, how exciting to learn of your plans and to have helped out in whatever way we can! That kind of personal touch is just what you can expect from the Memories family, one we are delighted to give. All the best for your Seine-et-Oise painting expedition come September and we'll hope too that our paths cross again! Thank you so much for the truely lovely review!
Kelly_B, Jan 2026
Orsay was one of my favorite museums in Paris — so many masterpieces in one place!
Starry Night Over the Rhône feels like a romantic Paris night — the reflection of stars on water is unforgettable.
Renoir’s dance scene feels joyful — it’s like stepping into a lively Parisian afternoon.
Don’t miss the giant clock — it’s iconic and perfect for photos.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
We are so glad to know the paintings spoke poetry to you, and can only think that your guide's interpreting helped in hearing its messages! Thank you so much for the lovely review that is a delight to read. Our mission is to make the art come to life and this lets us know we're getting it right!
christine_r, Jan 2026
Good Tour with fast skip the line entry. Tour is at a quick pace so plan on spending a little extra time after the tour is over to go back to see more paintings and explore more.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
We are thrilled to know you had a wonderful time exploring the glories of the Orsay with us and soaking in the genius contained in those walls with an expert guide to clue you in on all that you might otherwise miss from mere guidebooks. It's always a pleasure to know our guests have taken advantage of the skipped lines to spend time in the museum afterward at their own pace, and making personal favorites. Thanks so much for the lovely review!
Todd_T, Dec 2025
The Orsay museum has a lot to see and a lot of people. Having a guide helps to navigate. And place the art in context with each other. For families with children, you should know there will be discussions of nude figures, references to sexual exploitation of minors, and prostitution.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
It's true that while we tailor our discussions for smaller ears when necessary, we don't censor, as the Impressionists themselves did not shy away from the hard parts, and the Realists before them, from Courbet's torso and Manet's Olympia to Degas' Ballerinas and more. It's all part of the development of 19th Century art and society that also is a window on the France you've come to visit today. They are also masterpieces, each in their own right and key to how art has developed into the contemporary period, bringing understanding, indeed a kind of mirror to the world these pieces reflected and created. Thank you for taking the time out to leave a review- we are so happy to know we earned the five stars!
SusanM_M, Dec 2025
Good tour guide. Very knowledgeable and good information that enriched the art experience. We enjoyed it
Response from Host, Dec 2025
The whole Memories family is delighted to have offered you just that, an enhanced experience of the museum by virtue of storytelling our expertise and thus making the art step right out of its frame for you - thanks so much for letting us know!
Robert_W, Dec 2025
Very knowledgeable guide. Took us to the highlights in the museum and answered all of our questions. Great for an introduction to the museum.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Hello Robert, and thank you! We adore the Orsay and sharing our top notch understanding of its most iconic pieces, not forgetting to uncover some hidden gems along the way. And we love questions! They allow us to better gauge where your interests lie and so tailor the tour to the group, which can go from introduction to deep dive. We so appreciate your kind words which we'll be sending on to Elisabeth, your guide!
Katie_W, Dec 2025

Dhruva_S, Nov 2025
Tour guide was very knowledgable. He kept everyone occupied from teenagers to elderly. He gave very detailed history of the movement.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Hello Dhruva, and thank you so much for the kind words. We at Memories know that Orsay holds something for everyone, the secret is in the telling, as you saw, a secret that we have perfected. It's a joy to open new eyes to art and show new perspectives to the older hands as well. We are so happy that you and your family decided to come see those fantastic collections with us!
Susan_F, Nov 2025
I've been to Musee d Orsay before but this tour gave me the knowledge and insights to really get the most out of my visit. I highly recommend it!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
There's nothing like an expert guide to heighten the experience of the Orsay's masterpieces, giving them a context that makes them all make sense and come into focus. Thanks so much for the great recommendation, and for booking with Memories for your art safari!
Daniel_B, Nov 2025
Caroline did a fantastic job of giving us insights and going beyond just what we were seeing. It was enjoyable.
Additionally, finding the group to start was extremely easy.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
At Memories we like to provide you with a seamless experience from start to finish, finding your group, sailing past lines, and then getting straight to the good stuff of the Orsay collections, making the paintings speak across the ages with all their secrets and stories. Thank you for the fabulous review, Daniel, we loved having you!
RONALD_S, Nov 2025
The tour guide was excellent! She was extremely familiar with the Orsay museum, the artists, and their works of art. This was true of not only the "famous" painters but the lesser known ones as well. The price of the tour was very reasonable. Would highly recommend Viator...I'm sure we will use them again in the future.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Hello Ronald and Thank you for this fantastic five star recommendation! We at Memories are so glad you loved our presentation of the Orsay collections, both the headliners and the hidden gems! It our pleasure t share our expertise in an accessible way. We do our utmost to ensure our tours as affordable as they are excellence, with stress-free organization of logistics and a skip the line benefit for you into the bargain. We love working with Viator as our third party reseller partner, but rest assured, pricing and quality are Memories hallmarks. We do hope as well that our paths cross again, and once more, many thanks!
Florangel_P, Nov 2025
Julie was great! She weaved together the history of the period to help explain the paintings that we were looking at. She was quite animated and laughed a lot, interacting with the group. It was great to have a guide lead us through the museum to pick out the right pieces that tell the story of the Impressionists.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
With its 30,000 pieces on display across five long levels, you really do need someone to take you to what you've come to see at the Orsay, even if you're not sure yourself what that is. That's where we come in, with an indepth knowledge of 19th C French art that allows us to tell the collections' story that culminates with the Impressionists. And we at Memories firmly believe that learning goes with laughter like oysters and Chablis - we are so glad you feel the same! Thank you Florangel (what a lovely name) for this fabulous review and for booking with Memories for your art safari at the Orsay!
Mary_D, Nov 2025
The docent gave an overview of impressionist paintings and the transition from the previous era of painting to the next . Instead of looking at a lot of art she showed examples of each type of art so that one could understand. She was excellent.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you, Mary! We at Memories are choosy about what we want to show you, only the very best of the very best and so give you time to soak up the genius of each piece and fully appreciate how it illuminates the next, all while keeping in mind the Impressionist's accomplishments as the tour's culmination. It was a pleasure to have you and thanks again for the great review!
Tricia_B, Nov 2025
This is the way to see the highlights of this impressive museum — by-passing the entry lines and led by a knowledgeable guide. We stayed in the museum after the tour to explore a bit more!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
It's our pleasure to skip right past those lines with you to get right to the good part, what you've come so far to see and clue you in on all the fascinating back story to the Orsay collections, learning why they are so important. Thank you so much for taking the time out to leave this fantastic review - we were so happy to have you with us!
Rhyia_M, Nov 2025
Our flight was delayed and we could not make this tour. We really wanted to see the Orsay Museum. Too bad we couldn’t have a different day
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Dear Ms. Miller
We are so sorry to have missed you for your tour of the Orsay. We called you and left a message before the start of the tour to no avail. Other than that, on our end, we have no records of any kind of communication with you about being late or not showing. There is a customer service number on your voucher where a Memories contact is waiting 7/7 to try to schedule you for another tour if at all possible. Sadly, we had no way of helping you without you calling us. We also have a very flexible cancellation policy which provides a full refund with at least 24 hours notice, but that is not the case here since we had no information to go on at all. We do suggest that you try with your travel insurance for a possible reimbursement. We’ll hope for the best for you, hoping too that the rest of your trip to Paris went without a hitch and was otherwise just wonderful!
Ellen_L, Nov 2025
Christina was truly amazing! Her passion and knowledge of art history shined through. It was the best tour ever! So much so I was moved to tears feeling the love and passion.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
At Memories we strive for nothing short of amazing and are delighted to have been able to provide a tour that will stay part of you. Thank you so much for taking the time out to tell us of your experience, which is what we do our utmost to provide. We are humbled and honored.
John_C, Oct 2025
The guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining how impressionistic painters became in vogue. Go early because it gets more crowded later.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
We aim precisely to offer you a thorough grounding in how the Impressionsts triumphed in the end after trial and tribulation, what they built on and were up against - and won! Thanks so much for coming along with us! And we agree too on your heads up for others to come early.
James_B, Oct 2025
Excellent way to visit this big museum and understand the history and significance of the collection in a short amount of time.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Hello James, exactly! The Orsay is reputed to be more accessible simply because of the comparison to the Louvre, but the Orsay has more than 3,000 pieces on display over some nine miles of hallways and rooms, and across five levels. With all that you need a guide who can sort through and give you a signal to noise ratio that will leave you with a better understanding of the Impressionist movement, instead of a head dizzy with not knowing what to look at and where to go. This is what we love to provide and are so pleased to know we hit a bull's eye with you!
