Positano, Amalfi and Ravello Private Tour from Naples

Pasquale was our tour guide and Mercedes van driver, with over 10 years of experience driving tourists around Italy. We met him at 8:00am at the exit of the Naples Main Terminal with a sign held up with our family name, and drove 1 hour to our first drop off point of Positano, where he parked the van and let us walk around for a little over an hour to take in all the views of lovely Positano. The Mercedes van fits 7 adult passengers comfortably plus the driver, so it’s an 8 person vehicle. The 2nd leg of our tour drove us to Amalfi where we again had an hour or so to walk around and eat, drink, shop and take photos. It was mid-September but the temperature was still quite warm, but not too hot like July & August. Pasquale had given us all the information needed while driving, and was very knowledgeable about the area. The tour was really made special with his relaxed personality and good sense of humor. He had many exciting stories to tell and kept us all entertained while driving. I will say the traffic on this tour is quite heavy in the later morning, so having a pickup time of 8am was crucial to avoid the cruise ship buses that clog up the tiny roads, had we left later in the morning. So an earlier pickup time is crucial otherwise you will waste a lot of time sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. Pasquale was an expert at navigating traffic and kept us moving along with ease. The 3rd leg of our excursion travelled to Ravello where we had a nice lunch with pizza, sandwiches and nice drinks. We had 2 hours of time to spend in Ravello, since we only spent 1 hour in each of the previous towns. Depending on how long you sit in traffic, you will have 1 hour 15 minutes each in Positano and Amalfi, but we chose to only use 1 hour in each of the first two spots, so we could have more time for a nice meal in Ravello. The private tour allows some flexibility so if you want more time in Amalfi and less time in the other two towns, just let your driver know that at the beginning. The coordination with Gabby after booking the excursion through Viator app went very smoothly and she responded quickly with every question that we had using email and then also sending messages with the WhatsApp messaging. She even provided the name and phone number of our driver ahead of time, which gave peace of mind when trying to figure out a pickup meeting spot. Gabby even sent me a photo of the exact spot the driver would be waiting for us at the Naples cruise port, which was perfect.
