Learnt so much from from this tour. Our guide Christian, made it an enjoyable experience despite it being a bit cold. He had lots of facts and interesting stories. Would recommend this tour to anybody.

To be led round by a guide who has lived in Rabat all his life was a real inside look at the area. Lovely guy who added special personal touches to a very professional tour. The small group size is perfect

We absolutely loved the part of the tour that focused on Mdina. The guide Chris did a great job explaining the history of the area, the nuisances of the Maltese nobility over time, and pointing out architectural features of administrative buildings and private residences. The sounds of the city (still lived in) were wonderful. Where the tour fell short for us was the Rabat section (last 1/3 of the tour). While we greatly appreciated the guide’s personal connections (lives in Rabat, we went to the church he attends), it became a bit centered around his own experience. Also, while we were very impressed with his overall knowledge, when we asked a couple of questions, he wasn’t particularly forthcoming with us. Touring Malta again, we would focus on Mdina only.

Rabat, on the other hand, is intentionally presented differently. As a living town closely connected to Mdina, it allows us to go beyond monuments and explore how Maltese history continues into everyday life today. When our guides occasionally draw on personal connections, it is meant to add authenticity and local insight rather than shift the focus away from the historical narrative. As our guide always says, the beauty of history is when it connects to who we have become nowadays. Talking about hundreds of years could feel detached for many unless that is vividly exhibited in who the people have become as a result of this same history.
Regarding questions, we would like to reassure future guests that our guides always aim to be open, informative, and honest. On the rare occasion where a detail requires further verification, we are transparent about this and follow up where possible — accuracy is something we value greatly. However, in this case there was no question which remained unanswered from the said client and after our messaging to the client to sort out any questions, we received no reply as there was no question which remained unanswered.

This experience is absolutely worth your time! Chris is incredibly friendly, especially with children, making the tour welcoming and enjoyable for the whole family. He was patient and engaging, even when the kids were doing their own thing. As a lifelong local, his deep knowledge of the history and daily life in M’dina and Rabat really shines through. His anecdotes and stories bring the place to life, revealing fascinating details we never would have discovered on our own. The tour felt very personal. Chris gave us plenty of time to rest, explore, take photos, and even pick up local treats along the way. A wonderful, well-paced, and insightful experience!

Fantastic tour of Mdina n Rabat! Our guide Chris was knowledgeable, engaging, and brought the city’s history to life with fascinating stories and hidden gems - every street, doorway, and stone seemed to have a story.
From medieval fortifications to hidden corners only a local would know, we saw and learned so much more than we ever could on our own.
If you want to truly understand Mdina’s n Rabat's rich past and enjoy a walk through one of Malta’s most magical cities, I couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough.Even our 11 year old enjoyed the tour very much.

Our guide, Chris, was a born and raised local with clear passion for and knowledge of the area. Our tour group had a range of ages and he skillfully engaged everyone and set a reasonable pace. I would suggest picking a later tour in the day to avoid crowds (makes better photos too!)

Our February trip commenced at 3pm, at which time there were few other visitors and we saw the setting sun turn the biuildings golden.
We had travelled by public bus from Valletta, which was easy, efficient and only 2 euros each way.
Our group was small, nine, and our guide, Christian, was very personable and knowlegeable and had an interesting and relaxed delivery with excellent english.
Mdina is definitely worth a visit; it is quiet, calm and not commercialised.
We were pleased that the tour included Rabat, which is the neighbourhood where the locals live and, where we stopped for a delicious evening meal at Yannis, before catching the public bus back to Valletta.

Many thanks for your review John. We do keep our groups small to a maximum of 12 people per group and have a local guide from Rabat showing our visitors his own town. Rabat also has the best restaurants of the island and is always a pleasure to have lunch or dinner there.

What a great way to visit such a beautiful and historic city. The tour was great, with a nice intimate group it was really engaging and gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions etc. Also, the guide was very considerate of all of us tourists in the 35 degree heat!
