We had a really fun time with Ricky. The tuck tuck was a great way to get around. Headed straight to the toboggan to miss the cruise traffic, then a little tour of the old town.

Our friendly guide picked us up from the hotel and was happy to tailor our trip to us. Ricardo was an excellent guide, telling us lots about madeiras history and took us to the toboggan waiting for us to finish before taking us to the old town where we could choose t be dropped off there or taken back to the hotel - Excellent from start to finish! Tom was a great guide (and good driver). He called us to arrange meeting up. We met a short walk from the cruise terminal. We thoroughly enjoyed our tuk tuk drive up to Monte then down in the toboggan. We stopped for a local drink a poncha, which Tom explained was rum, honey and lemon, delicious. Tom asked where we wanted to end our tour in the city centre (we opted for this) or back at our cruise ship. We learnt a lot of interesting facts about Madeira on our short trip. We definitely would recommend this tour.

Great morning with the lovely Miguel. Collected and returned to hotel with option of anywhere drop off. Very informative with a clear passion for his island. Went up as far as Monte Palace gardens where we were left to wander on our own until the agreed pick up time. Once back down we were taken around the old town, again very informative. Any questions were answered and where possible we were taken to places we’d asked about. All in all, very good value, a lovely way to see a bit of Funchal with the personal touch. Thank you Miguel.

Fun way to see Funchal. The tuk-tuk gives a more intimate and authentic view of the old town area of Funchal and Ricardo was an excellent guide - entertaining and informative without being boring or dry. The toboggan baskets were a blast - a definite must do for a trip to Madeira.

Worth every penny. Ricardo and Enrico were excellent guides. The combined experience of going up the hill in a tuk tuk before coming down it in a glorified bread basket was great fun. The tour ended with a visit to the old town, which was fab.

We were picked up directly from our hotel by a Tuk Tuk driven by Ricky. He contacted us the day before to confirm the arrangements and recommend the best time to start the Monte Toboggan tour. His advice to go early was perfect, as the queue gets long very quickly.
Ricky was an excellent guide — friendly, chatty, and full of local knowledge. He also showed us some wonderful photo spots along the way. Overall, he made the whole experience smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. Highly recommended!

It’s great fun but be prepared for delays at Monte for the start of the basket ride- especially if there are cruise ships in. That caused a delay to our start but Alexis kept us regularly updated. We then had a great time. Our driver Ricky was very knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Our guide “Ricky” was Excellent! Saw the town and he explained the sites. The sled ride was so fun! (Ticket not included) Stoped at a Poncha bar and got to taste the local spirit. Warning limit yourself to one. Took about 1 1/2 hours which was great because then we were able to do some stuff on our own.

Inish, our driver, was very knowledgeable and friendly. There was a little confusion as to our meeting place, but we eventually found each other with the help of another tuk tuk driver. We toured through the city and to the top of one of the hills to see the beautiful landscape.

Had a lovely ride in the tuk tuk with Ricardo who did some stops along the way up to Monte. He has a great sense of humour and we both throughly recommend using this tour as an alternative way to explore the Island. The tobogganing is 100% worth it and will set you back 35 euros for 2 people for the ride. I advise booking this tour early to avoid the queues. We booked 9:30am, this was only a 10 minute wait at the top. Stopped off in the farmers market on the way down and by the santa maria church for some photos. Give it a go, it's fun and doesn't take your whole day up

Booked this ahead of our cruise visit having used Viator on previous trips. Everything went like clockwork, our driver TukTuk driver Ricardo contacted us by text as we left the ship and was waiting for us exactly as described, at the port entrance. On our way up to the old town, he stopped at a lovey viewpoint and showed us some of the sights of Funchal, continuing the uphill climb on our way to the start of the toboggans, meeting us us some time later (after the queue) at the bottom station. He then took us on another route which took us back up the hill, so we could visit botanical gardens and return to the port at our leisure, (we actually walked back up through the gardens and returned on the cable car that departs near the entrance to the gardens). Would highly recommend this trip as a way of seeing some of the sights, backed up with Ricardos friendly and informative guidance. Its not just a 'taxi' ride to take the toboggans, its excellent value and if you take the trip early enough, avoids the queues (which get worse as the morning passes) and still allows you plenty of free time to walk through the town, all at a very reasonable price.

Great ride uo to MONTE to jump on the Toboggan ride down the hill (this is a must do )
Included during our tour a few pit stops and the farmers market and some look outs.
Our driver was Ricardo and we loved him ,he kept us safe and we amused each other.
So pleased we tipped $50 euros for the great 2 hours of fun.We ended up being dropped off at the cable cars (a must do)

Picked up from our hotel and had a great journey up to Monte. The toboggans were amazing but the ride down in the tuk tuk was just as exciting. It takes all the worry out of finding your way back to Funchal as your private tuk tuk is waiting for you at the end of the toboggan ride.
Stephanie our lovely driver was amazing so friendly and so much fun. This was an experience I wouldn’t want to miss. Try it you won’t be sorry.

We had a great time with Luis, he was very knowledgeable and pointed out important monumemts and history. We preferred a more private tpur to explore monte and funchal so doing the tuktuk tour was the best choice. The highlight of the experience was the Toboggan, it was so thrilling and fun as you can see in our picture! Hahaha! We definitely recommend this tour to Monte and Funchal.
