What To Expect
Make your own way to Brook Street, where George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix lived, 200 years apart, in central London, to arrive at your preferred time during the opening hours. Then, head inside and explore at your own pace.
Ascend the 250-year-old staircase in Handel’s house, where he lived from 1723 to 1759. Musicians often play harpsichords in the house to add extra atmosphere to your visit.
Wander through the restored music rooms where he composed, rehearsed, and conversed with the musical luminaries of the time, and discover how he penned his most famous work, Messiah, here.
Explore the dressing room and bedroom, where Handel died, and view any temporary additional exhibitions on his life, work, and contemporaries.
Next, visit the third floor: home to the next-door flat where Jimi Hendrix lived from 1968 to 1969. Hear about swinging 1960s London, and how Hendrix, one of the world’s greatest guitarists, described the flat as the first place he’d called home.
See the main room, recreated to how Jimi had it, and learn how he lived and played here, plus other intriguing facts.
Afterward, browse the gift shop for souvenirs (own expense) before departing and bringing your experience to an end.

Great help from the staff. Learned a lot. Wonderful day! I am a musician and came with a friend of mine who I played with once in 1966. Fond memories

Interesting museum with great facts about the history of music in London, went there as a Hendrix fan but found the Handel information very good, also has very good staff.

Five stars only because you can't give 500!
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. I'm a Hendrix fan, and that said, spent as much time in the Handel side because of the friendly and knowledgeable staff, who went out of their way to engage, inform and educate.
Musicians were practicing for a concert that evening, and I was fortunate to be able to sit and enjoy. Later, a singer was warming up. Hearing harpsichord and strings, as well as an opera singer resonate through a home with so much musical history was otherworldly.
The Hendrix flat was as well-done and true to the period as the Handel side. Bravo for having Kathy Etchingham consult on Jimi's room. The intern there was very knowledgeable and informative.
The displays of the Epiphone acoustic guitar and Roger Mayer's Octavia, especially the description of Jimi's use of effects and why were outstanding.
My visit was the fulfillment of a longstanding dream and a perfect bookend to my visit earlier that week to the Tate Modern to see the Soul Of A Nation exhibit. Thank you for committing the time, effort, and resources to preserving this fragile piece of African American history, as well as tying Jimi's legacy with Handel. Looking at stairs both of them tread fires the imagination.
Again, thank you.

I loved visiting Handel and Hendrix Museum! I grew up on Jimi Hendrix's music so it was really neat to go through the place where he lived. I wish I would have gotten the man's name who worked there and was in Jimi's bedroom when I walked through. He was full of information and so fun to talk to. I really enjoyed visiting there!
