My guide Hossam was incredibly knowledgeable and very respectful. He made sure I saw every part of the museum and gave plenty of detailed explanations. He even went the extra mile to arrange a visit to the Papyrus Factory which was very enjoyable for me. I gained so much valuable information, and Hossam was truly friendly and attentive

i tried to book tour including everything except lunch but could not find any option. brief experience. Car is quite good enough , guide is exceptional , lunch is disgusting and spoiled everything .
Car stopped in dirty street full of garbage in front of cheapest eatery . Rubbish was Infront door , tables was full of dust . Food was terrible suitable for pigs only . This place not for tourists for sure . They promised lunch in a museum with view to pyramids . But is completely different story . Such " lunch" worth nothing .

Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion about the tour with us, we totally understand that you didn’t like the restaurant that the guide recommended, and thanks for telling the truth that everything else was perfect, the only issues was lunch and you skipped it, and we offered you a 30 USD refund because of that and you accepted it, then you asked us to refund another 30 USD which is not fair for sure, then we accepted it again so you ended up getting 60 USD for skipping lunch which is not fair for sure, but we accepted it only to satisfy you for skipping lunch, then you decided to write a 2 stars review for a complain that you got 60 USD back for it, we believe it’s not fair at all, and also it’s not a good thing to claim that the restaurant is for pigs, it’s just a local restaurant for humans not for , and the tour description doesn’t say lunch in the museum with pyramids view, if that is written as you claim I am ready to do a full refund to satisfy you more

Amazing experience from start to finish. Our first time in Egypt was made as comfortable as possible on this tour. We were messaged the evening before to confirm time of pick up from hotel. Our guide Abdo picked us up from our hotel and was extremely friendly and welcoming. We visited everything as listed with Abdo taking great care to make sure we got to see everything we wanted and more! He explained in detail all the history of everything we saw. Abdo ensured we had lunch at a good time and was on hand to help with any interactions we had which kept the usual stress tourists face to a minimum. I would recommend this tour to everyone, especially first time travelers. Thank you Abdo!

We enjoyed our trip to the GEM a lot. Our guide Asmaa was extremely helpful when one of us fell and got injured. She organised immediate help and got us a cup of tea to calm us down. We probably lost this time and did not see all the museum but we saw the Tutankhamen gallery and our guide gave us a lot of information. The meal was nice and we were taken back to the hotel by our friendly driver Muhammed.

Everything was amazing! From pick up to meeting with our guide and to the very end, everything was excellent! Bassant was exceptional!! She was very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful with all our questions. The driver was also very helpful! I do apologize I forget his name but he was also very kind and even asked if we needed anything else before he took us back to the hotel. 10/10 would highly recommend, having a tour guide is very helpful!

The overall experience of visiting the Egyptian Museum was good. Our guide was professional and clearly very experienced, and the driver was excellent—reliable, punctual, and very friendly throughout the day. Everything was well organized and smooth in terms of logistics.
That said, we expected a bit more depth from a professional tour guide. Much of the explanation felt quite routine and basic. I understand that guiding is a highly repetitive job and it can be difficult to maintain the same level of enthusiasm after repeating the same information every day. However, for many visitors, a trip to Egypt is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Before arriving, we had already read several books and watched documentaries about ancient Egypt, so we were hoping for deeper insights, stories, or perspectives beyond the standard introductions. Instead, most of the information we received was fairly general and something that could easily be found in guidebooks.
One suggestion for Viator would be to provide clearer guide profiles, rankings, or areas of expertise before assigning a guide. That would help travelers choose guides who match their expectations—whether they prefer a basic overview or a more in-depth historical interpretation.
Overall, the trip was well organized and comfortable, but with a bit more depth in the storytelling, the experience could have been truly exceptional.

The grand Egyptian museum is simply magnificent. It is almost worth the trip alone to Egypt. Of course there is much more to see but thanks to our tour guide Mo we saw as much as we could in a short period of time. If you come to Cairo and want a tour , mo is the man to call!!!

I had great day at The Grand Egyptian Museum, and this private tour was the perfect way to explore and experience this new museum, not been rushed and enjoying the place at my own pace . Alaa my tour guide for the day was exceptional, really knowledgeable and friendly and she had all the answers for all the questions I had .

The Cairo museum must be one of the best designed building for a purpose that we have visited. The setting adjacent to the Giza pyramids is superb but the architecture of the museum captures this unique place form every angle. The collections are too large for single visit so our guide Donya took us to the boats of Kefu, the monumental stair case and of course the treasures of King Tut! The three hours that we were there flew past and trying to get you head around the age of the exhibits was part of the immersive experience. As a wrap around experience including door to door pickup this was value for money and an essential and mesmerising part of a once in a lifetime trip. By the way hats off to the Irish architects who designed this amazing building!

I literally had the best tour guide ever (Wehad). It was like catching up with an old high school friend that I hadn’t seen in forever yet she was way more knowledgeable! She knew how to map out the museum efficiently so that we could do the most important things first without crowds. I can’t say enough amazing things about Wehad, if you get her, consider you take lucky!

Our private tour of the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) was truly the highlight of our Egypt trip, all thanks to our incredible guide, Hossam. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, wonderfully funny, genuinely caring—and most impressively, he has absolute magic hands when it comes to photography! Every photo he took looked like it belonged in a travel magazine.
Hossam brought history to life in such an engaging and colorful way that every moment felt special. Visiting during the first day of Ramadan, we honestly expected limited options for food since many restaurants were closed. But Hossam surprised us by taking us to a fantastic local eatery where the quality of the food far exceeded our expectations.
When the GEM had shortened opening hours, he thoughtfully adjusted our itinerary to ensure we didn’t miss a thing. His flexibility and dedication made all the difference.
Huge thanks to Hossam—we truly couldn’t recommend his tour more!

Was picked up at my hotel and was taken to the museum and got a one on one tour of the museum. Mo was great and explained about many of the statues in exhibits and answered all my questions most spoke very good English and made the tour extremely fun. I also needed to fly out the following day very early and Mo was able to assist me getting a driver to take me to the airport early in the morning. He goes well and beyond a normal tour guide highly recommend him.

I was shown around this extraordinary museum by Asmaa, a very experienced and knowledgeable guide, and got to see all the important exhibits without being rushed. The museum is vast, so it’s a good idea to book a guided tour. Asmaa is very pleasant to be with but has been guiding tourists for a while and obviously knows a few tricks. I enjoyed the museum but wasn’t so keen on being taken to a spice shop, which turned out to be overpriced. I suppose you come to expect being taken to shops to bolster the guide’s income. The included lunch was OK and the transport to and from my hotel was fine. I’d recommend this tour, however…
I mentioned to Asmaa that I was concerned about another tour to old Cairo that I’d booked because of bad reviews. She said she could do the tour as she was free that day. The tour I’d booked was a 6 to 8 hour tour, taking in the Citadel and mosques; Coptic Cairo and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, with lunch and entrance fees extra. Asmaa offered to do a fully inclusive tour for £110. I though this was a bit steep but if it included everything, I’d do it.
Asmaa contacted me before the tour, wanting me to start earlier than planned because the Civilization museum would get crowded. I questioned why we were going there and she said that’s what we’d agreed. No. Then she mentioned that we needed an early start so she could finish by 1pm, as she had something else to do in the afternoon!! I said I wanted the citadel, coptic Cairo and the bazaar, and she told me we could not do the bazaar as it was too far away and there would not be time! I was picked up at my hotel 15 minutes early only to be told that Asmaa had forgotten her phone and we would need to go to her place to collect it. This obviously took time out of my tour. We then went on to the Citadel, then Coptic Cairo, then a shop and then an OK lunch and then she said she had to go and the driver would take me back to my hotel. It was 12:30pm. £110 for a rushed three hour trip? Absolute rip off! If I’d stayed with the original Viator booked trip and got a bad tour, then at least I’d have some comeback, but i suspect the bulk of my money ended up in Asmaa’s pocket.

As such, the itinerary, duration, pricing, and inclusions were not managed, monitored, or guaranteed by us, which unfortunately limits our ability to provide oversight or recourse in such situations.
We do take your feedback seriously, particularly regarding communication, time management, and unplanned stops. These are not the standards we aim to uphold. We will be addressing your comments internally with the guide to ensure clearer expectations, better transparency, and more consistent service for future guests.
Regarding shopping stops, while some travelers enjoy optional visits to local artisan or spice shops, these should always be clearly communicated and never feel obligatory. We regret that this detracted from your experience.

Great tour of the museum. Hossam was amazing at explaing and showing us around. Got picked up on time from hotel for a quick ride to the museum.
Our guide Hossam, was very knowledgeable and caring. It seemed he genuinely cared about the information he was sharing with us and very enthusiastic.
Great time overall that I highly recommend.
The place where we stopped by for lunch was great. Food was delicious. The best lunch spot we had out of 3 tours we did in Cairo.
