Anan was delightful! So knowledgeable about the history and religions of the temples, mosques and synagogue we toured. She was also so kind and fun to spend time with. The van was clean and pleasant with AC and cold water.

Abeer was a superb guide who made the day interesting and full of new learning and insights not just about Cairo and the Muslim and Coptic experience, but about so many other things from a long, noble past that weave in and out of each other‘s place and position in history and the current day. It is always fascinating to have a guide who is so positive, knowledgeable, but above all loves her country and its diverse history and contribution to the world. Among many memorable moments., possibly one of the best for sitting in a café in a traditional market, drinking, drinking, mint tea, chatting, and watching the world go by. That is one of the memories that I end of the day with a whole new appreciation for a history and story that I now realize I knew very little about. I also have to say a word of things for the driver who was quiet, courteous, but incredibly brave in traffic at a time seemed out of control. Yet, he seemed to be in total control. This was one of my best tour experiences..

Our tour through Coptic and Islamic Cairo was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. Ahmed was an incredible guide — his knowledge of Egyptian history is genuinely impressive, and he brought everything to life in such an engaging way. It didn’t feel like a typical tour; it felt like walking through history with someone who truly knows and loves it.
What really stood out was how he went beyond just facts and dates, sharing stories and cultural insights that made each place feel meaningful. The way he connected different religions and historical periods added a deeper layer to the experience.
A special mention to our driver as well, who made the whole day run so smoothly. Driving in Cairo can be hectic, but we felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time, and everything was perfectly timed between stops.

We had a wonderful private full-day tour of Coptic and Islamic Cairo. Our guide, Farha, was very knowledgeable and explained everything in a simple and interesting way, which made the experience even more meaningful.
She planned the day very well and took us to all the key sites without feeling rushed. We also visited Khan Al Khalili market and a place to get good quality papyrus, which we really appreciated.
The driver was also very professional and made the journey comfortable throughout the day.
Overall, it was a smooth, well-organised, and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore Cairo in depth.

A VERY pleasant surprise!
My husband and I booked this tour expecting an interesting and historic experience - we were not disappointed! Mira was an excellent guide who did everything she could to make sure our day was educational as well as enjoyable. She told us many interesting things about both the Coptic and the Islamic history of Egypt, answered all of our questions, was patient with my many photo stops (!), and was always asking if we were comfortable, had any questions, understood her clearly, and were we enjoying ourselves. I am happy to report that our response to all of her questions was YES! I also want to compliment our driver, Ahmed (sp?), who was the best tour driver we've had during our time here in Cairo! He was safe, patient, and calm. His care was clean, spacious, and comfortable. He drove with confidence, and we were very happy with the experience. All in all, an excellent day. I would highly recommend Mira Ahmed as a tour guide!

My guide, Mira, did a great job explaining the historic sites visited today on a tour of Coptic Christian churches, mosques, and Cairo’s citadel. I was amazed at how the Christian churches began approximately 200 A.D., only years after Jesus’s crucification. I enjoyed her explanation on the latter arrival of the Islamic religion in Egypt. She really expanded my understanding of religion and history. We were able to visit on Friday, holy day for both religions and the end of Ramadan.

We saved this tour for our last day here. It was the tour we looked forward to the most! Ola was our guide and she was so knowledgeable, sweet and kind. This tour was so special as we entered the same alleyway and shelter that Mary, Joseph and Jesus fled to from Jerusalem for three months. We saw the well that the holy family drank from. What an amazing tour!

We had a fantastic experience on this tour thanks to our guide, Ibrahim, and our driver, Sadek. Ibrahim’s knowledge of history at every site was impressive, but what truly stood out was how he brought each place to life with local insight and personal stories. It felt more like exploring with a friend his cherished hometown than following a scripted tour.
We didn’t just see historical landmarks — we felt like we were walking through history. One especially powerful stop was the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus (Abu Serga), built above the cave where Jesus and his family are believed to have stayed for three years. Standing there and hearing the history and religious significance was deeply moving.
We were also touched by learning about the strong connections between Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities, both past and present. Ibrahim explained these relationships with balance and authenticity.
Highly recommend this tour — and if possible, request Ibrahim and Sadek. They made it truly special.

My husband and I took this tour with Mira. She was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Egypt - dates and all. She kept us moving but gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions or spend more or less time at any particular site. She was also an excellent photographer and took our photos at each site. We enjoyed our day with her so much that we employed her for the following day to give us a guided tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum Cairo. I would highly recommend this tour and Mira.

If you're trying to decide which of the many tours to book for Coptic and Islamic Cairo, choose this one with your eyes closed. Everything ran exactly on time. The driver was polite and careful, the vehicle was clean and comfortable, and we were even offered water during the ride.
Our guide, Ali, was truly exceptional — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and detailed without ever overwhelming us. Above all, he was friendly, respectful, and genuinely helpful. He never pushed us toward tourist traps, which we really appreciated.
And one more highlight: his photography skills are amazing! He took incredible photos of us at every stop of the tour.
Highly recommended — this tour was one of the best parts of our trip!

I can’t recommend this tour enough! Anan was incredibly knowledgeable and personable, which made the experience truly enjoyable. We visited each religious site — Mosques, Churches, and a Synagogue — and learned about their rich history and traditions. Our discussions about each place and religion were engaging and insightful.
Anan also took me to enjoy authentic Egyptian food, which really captured the spirit of being in the city. As Italian New Zealanders travelling to the Middle East/North Africa for the very first time, we didn’t know what to expect after hearing negative things about Egypt in the media and from various people. However, Sam, our tour guide showed us the truth. Egypt is a truly fantastic and safe country full of amazing history and friendly people like Sam. He was a gentle and kind tour guide, who even bought us fresh local produce from street vendors around Cairo and helped us navigate the crowded but lovely Khan el Khalili Bazaar. His information was clear, very informative and went beyond the superficial historical information on all the areas of Cairo that we visited during the tour. My family and I especially recommend this tour. If you are travelling as a family and are unsure how to navigate this city of 22.1 million, Sam will treat you as a member of his family supporting each member of the groups individual needs.

El guia fue excelente, no pongo su nombre porque es muy dificil, pero nos dijo que le dijeramos H, nos dió mucha información sobre el Islam y el cristianismo en la zona, conoce muy bien la historia del lugar y nos ayudo a tomr muchas fotografias, realmente un guia excelente. en mi caso nos llevaron solo a mi esposa y a mi en un auto, el guia y el conductor, esto fue muy conveniente porque pudimos hacer muchas preguntas.
