Sahar was our guide and she was amazing—fierce in the best way possible! Knowledgeable, an awesome photographer, and basically our personal bodyguard (lol). She saved us from scams and even caught a mistake on our café bill in Khan El Khalili. A true gem—she made our tour unforgettable! ✨

My guide, Mira, did a great job explaining the historic sites visited today on a tour of Coptic Christian churches, mosques, and Cairo’s citadel. I was amazed at how the Christian churches began approximately 200 A.D., only years after Jesus’s crucification. I enjoyed her explanation on the latter arrival of the Islamic religion in Egypt. She really expanded my understanding of religion and history. We were able to visit on Friday, holy day for both religions and the end of Ramadan.

We saved this tour for our last day here. It was the tour we looked forward to the most! Ola was our guide and she was so knowledgeable, sweet and kind. This tour was so special as we entered the same alleyway and shelter that Mary, Joseph and Jesus fled to from Jerusalem for three months. We saw the well that the holy family drank from. What an amazing tour!

We had a fantastic experience on this tour thanks to our guide, Ibrahim, and our driver, Sadek. Ibrahim’s knowledge of history at every site was impressive, but what truly stood out was how he brought each place to life with local insight and personal stories. It felt more like exploring with a friend his cherished hometown than following a scripted tour.
We didn’t just see historical landmarks — we felt like we were walking through history. One especially powerful stop was the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus (Abu Serga), built above the cave where Jesus and his family are believed to have stayed for three years. Standing there and hearing the history and religious significance was deeply moving.
We were also touched by learning about the strong connections between Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities, both past and present. Ibrahim explained these relationships with balance and authenticity.
Highly recommend this tour — and if possible, request Ibrahim and Sadek. They made it truly special.

Our trip through Koptic and Islamic Cairo was spectacular thanks to our guide Ahmed Mahmoud. His depth of Knowledge about Egyptian history was staggering- it felt like traveling with walking encyclopedia. My husband and I took this tour with Mira. She was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Egypt - dates and all. She kept us moving but gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions or spend more or less time at any particular site. She was also an excellent photographer and took our photos at each site. We enjoyed our day with her so much that we employed her for the following day to give us a guided tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum Cairo. I would highly recommend this tour and Mira.

If you're trying to decide which of the many tours to book for Coptic and Islamic Cairo, choose this one with your eyes closed. Everything ran exactly on time. The driver was polite and careful, the vehicle was clean and comfortable, and we were even offered water during the ride.
Our guide, Ali, was truly exceptional — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and detailed without ever overwhelming us. Above all, he was friendly, respectful, and genuinely helpful. He never pushed us toward tourist traps, which we really appreciated.
And one more highlight: his photography skills are amazing! He took incredible photos of us at every stop of the tour.
Highly recommended — this tour was one of the best parts of our trip!

I can’t recommend this tour enough! Anan was incredibly knowledgeable and personable, which made the experience truly enjoyable. We visited each religious site — Mosques, Churches, and a Synagogue — and learned about their rich history and traditions. Our discussions about each place and religion were engaging and insightful.
Anan also took me to enjoy authentic Egyptian food, which really captured the spirit of being in the city. We ended the tour exploring the market, sipping amazing fresh juice, and finding some great souvenirs with her help. Don’t sleep on this historical and adventurous tour — it’s an experience you won’t forget!

As Italian New Zealanders travelling to the Middle East/North Africa for the very first time, we didn’t know what to expect after hearing negative things about Egypt in the media and from various people. However, Sam, our tour guide showed us the truth. Egypt is a truly fantastic and safe country full of amazing history and friendly people like Sam. He was a gentle and kind tour guide, who even bought us fresh local produce from street vendors around Cairo and helped us navigate the crowded but lovely Khan el Khalili Bazaar. His information was clear, very informative and went beyond the superficial historical information on all the areas of Cairo that we visited during the tour. My family and I especially recommend this tour. If you are travelling as a family and are unsure how to navigate this city of 22.1 million, Sam will treat you as a member of his family supporting each member of the groups individual needs.
If you are visiting Cairo or, interested in visiting, we highly recommend what has been an outstanding tour and visit to some of Cairo’s most beautiful and religious sites.
