Not a good food tour.

Stephen_N, Oct 2024
The tour was not what I call a real food tour. The samples were of items that the average person has access to. For the price we received a small meat pie, a giro, scoop of ice cream and an olive oil sampling that was OK. The brief of the tour says it is a .5 mile walk but we ended up walking almost 5 miles. The guide was pleasant but for the price it was not worth it.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear the tour didn't meet your expectations. However, I'd like to clarify that our food tour includes more tastings, such as coffee, traditional sweets, meze at a taverna, and street food from local spots, including a visit to Varvakeios Market, where Greeks shop. The distance covered is 0.6 miles, as advertised. Our tour is highly rated, and we always strive to offer an authentic and enjoyable experience for our guests. We appreciate your input and will continue to improve.

Not as described

Deborah_W, Sep 2024
Our tour did not match the description. It was a pleasant evening, but we made four stops—for baklava, for moussaka and pies, for gyros, and for Greek donuts. No cheese, olive oil, market stops. It would have been nice to have smaller portions as there was way too much food.

Excellent Experience

Jennifer_H, Sep 2024
We especially enjoyed the meat. seafood and vegetable markets but the souvlaki was the best we have ever had. Elizabeth was wonderful as our guide and we highly recommend. We would never have found some of the hidden gems she showed us on our own.

Great food/city tour

The guide was excellent. Really liked her and she was very informative. The food tastings, however, were too heavily weighted to the sweets. Would have liked to taste and hear more about some cheeses, unusual breakfast sandwiches, etc

Absolutely Amazing! Tania toured us through dozens of tasty restaurants that are favorites of locals and authentic to Greek culture. She made the tour interesting and fun for the kids. In fact, our 9 year old daughter said the Food Tour was her FAVORITE part of our trip to Greece. Tania emailed us after the trip to provide us with recipes to some delicious Greek dishes. 5 stars for Tania and the Private Greek Food Tour in Athens!

What an excellent way to start our few days in Athens. Tania our tour guide was absolutely professional and by the end of the tour was an amazing friend. Tania was really knowledgeable in the gastronomic and cultural cuisine of Athens and gave us the ultimate experience by taking us to some great places to taste the true delights of the Greek cuisine. The start was an amazing Greek coffee, continuing with several Greek sweets and ending with a traditional mezze. I can highly recommend Tania as a tour guide and this Athens food tour because it gave us an insight to this great city. Thank you Tania you were very professional and very good at giving us a truly delightful start to our stay in Athens.
