We had an amazing tour of the Acropolis and were lucky to have Magdalini as our guide. She was excellent from start to finish. Very knowledgeable, well spoken, and passionate about the history of Athens and the Acropolis. We were one of the first groups to enter that morning, which made the experience even better and allowed us to enjoy everything before it became crowded, giving us the opportunity to take some great pictures. Magdalini explained everything in a way that was easy to understand while still being detailed and engaging. She made the entire experience memorable, and we learned so much throughout the tour. Highly recommend this tour company.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for such a thoughtful review, David!
We are so pleased to hear that your experience with Magdalini was excellent from start to finish. It really is a game-changer to be among the first groups through the gates—having those quieter moments for photos and reflection makes the history feel even more impactful.
We are glad that Magdalini’s ability to balance detail with an engaging, easy-to-understand style helped make the morning so memorable for you. We will be sure to pass your high recommendation and kind words along to her!

This company was great. First they were responsive even before it started, working with me when we needed to meet up. The guild was very informative and I love that they had headsets so everyone could hear no matter what. We went on a very cold and windy day which made it a bit harder to hear, but that’s Mother Nature for you. We continued with the museum tour also. So glad we did, she explained it all easily and made it more enjoyable.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hi Jessica, thanks so much for the detailed feedback!
We’re delighted our communication helped you feel at ease before the tour even started, we know how important that peace of mind is when traveling. Even when Mother Nature brings the wind and cold, those headsets are such a game-changer for staying connected to the history! We’re also happy you pushed through to the museum; it really is the perfect way to warm up while making the stories "click."

The tour operator did a fantastic job! The meeting locations was clearly outlined with a reminder sent to us the day before. Recommend taking tour prior to the 9:00 am rush.

Everything was as described when booking. The day was hot. There was lots of walking. But the overall feeling of the tour was captivating and interesting - it was a true honour to be there. Marguerite, our tour guide was charming, enthusiastic and above all passionately knowledgeable about her subject. To hold us all enthralled for over four hours without a script was impressive and inspiring. Her thrilling understanding of her country’s history was uplifting and made me feel like I was actually stepping back in time - bravo and thank you.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Claire, thank you for such a glowing review! We're thrilled Marguerite’s passion and deep knowledge made your tour truly captivating and memorable. Holding the group’s attention for over four hours is no small feat, and it’s wonderful to hear you felt transported back in time. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words!

With the heat in Athens at the time we travelled, it was definitely great to do this to her first thing in the morning. Our guide was very knowledgeable and there was plenty of time to explore the acropolis both with her and for a little while on our own as well. It is also worth paying the extra to enter the museum. It is quite incredible what they have created there. You are left in the museum to explore at your leisure once the tour has finished. It is worth noting that the entrance to the museum with this tour does not include the ruins that have been discovered underneath the museum. In order to view those ruins, you need to pay for another entry into the museum. This could be something that could be improved on by Viator or the tour operator. We didn’t feel it was worth paying for another full museum entry in order to see those ruins.

These kind folks were amazing to work with. We had one difficult time after another starting with a delayed flight into Greece, we were unable to make our reserved timed and Athens Walking Tour host was gracious and rescheduled for the following day.
The day of our scheduled time, we could not find our guide, and once again -the host was able to call and locate us. We were greeted with nothing less but kindness. Helene-I think I spelled her name correctly- was fantastic at helping and entertaining us “out of towners” We had a wonderful experience because of their willingness to go the extra mile and help us when needed!!!!
Thank you so much and I highly recommend!!

A fair amount of uphill walking but completely wort the trip. The guide was from Athens and was easy to understand and extremely knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Michael,
We're so glad to hear that despite the uphill walking, our Acropolis and Museum tour was completely worth the trip! It's rewarding that your Athenian guide, with their local insights, was both easy to understand and highly informative, greatly enriching your experience.
