This tour is a short 15 minute train ride from Amsterdam to the cute town of Weesp. From there, our energetic guide, Remco, met us with the bikes. It was beautiful countryside with windmills and no other tourists. We visited a farm, cheese shop, milk stop, and windmills. The pastoral scenes of perfect cows, horses and sheep looked to good to be real.
It is mostly a flat ride. Highly recommend this tranquil beautiful tour for something different from the hustle of Amsterdam.

Remco/Rubio grew up in the area and knows all of the fabulous spots and history.
Our favorite stop was a family owned cheese shop where we were able to taste fresh milk and cheese.
We were supposed to bike today but it was pouring rain so he offered to drive us in his nice car. We were glad to still be able to see the windmills and scenery.
Highly recommend!

Solo bike tour with local Dutch guide, Rubio. Good communication and met up at Weesp which is just 18 minute train from central station. We biked about 3hours: brown cafe, pass by the castle, see several windmills. One windmill actually spinning with sails. Drank fresh milk and had good cheese. Very pleasant 😎

Thanks Jim for nice company.
Hope to see you again for the boat tour next year.
All the best.
Kind regards, Rubio

Beautiful day exploring the countryside! The weather was perfect and we had lots of stops to rest, hydrate and learn some history.

We had an excellent tour with Remco! It was pretty cold and windy with rain so we opted to go by car instead of bike. This was a great option and I was very thankful! The terrain was very flat, so biking would not have been challenging, just the weather was not cooperating. Remco is very friendly and puts you right at ease. It was great to get out of the city and see the picturesque small towns, so charming, pastoral and beautiful! Like a time from long ago! Nothing to compare back in the United Sates, a truly unique experience. Beautiful windmills, canals, and farms. Remco is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot! A must-do experience! I would love to come back for a tulip tour in the spring.

In case of rain, we go with the car.
Thanks for the review.

Outstanding tour with Roberto our guide. Outside central Amsterdam viewing Weesp countryside, windmills, the castle, farmland and the visit to the cattle/dairy farmer. Pace was excellent!!

Freddy was a fabulous tour guide through the Dutch countryside. We took an easy train ride from the city and we biked to a farm, a windmill, and more. Very fun and a nice escape from bustling Amsterdam!

Thanks Girls. Glad to hear you enjoyed the biketour <3.

Our guide was Franky. He was interesting and took us on a wonderful bike ride, but it was a little slow getting started because he didn't have the bikes ready for us and we had to take a little detour to the bike shop to fill the tires on one and get the chain adjusted on another. Once we got going, the ride was beautiful and we stopped to take pictures by a castle, stopped for fresh milk, and stopped at a windmill. The little town of Weesp is very cute!!

My wife and I, highly recommend! Remco was a terrific guide and gave us some great history behind all the great scenery. Not to mention we all had just great conversation and time riding together. We would do this tour again in a heartbeat.

The sightseeing was awesome. The bike equipment was awful. Nothing more to say than that….other than the rating system requires 100 characters.

We call this in Dutch "azijnpissers" LOL

Remco gave us a wonderful private tour! It was educational and entertaining. We learned so much about Amsterdam and it's history.
The bike ride was like riding through a movie, so picturesque and peaceful.

It was my pleasure to guide you and your hubby. What a lovely day! XXX

The scenery was lovely but overall the tour was disappointing. We could have had similar experience renting a bike and doing a self guided tour (I would recommend this option - trails are well marked and easy to navigate).
It cost $350CAD (4 people) plus additional 60 euros cash for bike rental (read this in the fine print). It was advertised as 3-4 hours and we were dropped off in 2 hours. We have done similar bike tours in many cities in Europe and have never been disappointed. In this case, we generally felt rushed and that our guide was not engaged at all.

I wish there was a way to separate out the tour from the equipment and the guide. Overall, we enjoyed cycling in the countryside. BUT, we paid for a "private tour," and it was not. Not much we could do, on the spot. We paid $15 euro per bike rental fee, on top of activity fee, and that was laughable, because the bikes couldn't have been worth $15 euro each, never mind rental. Brakes literally squealing/broken, resulted in accident and injury; others on tour had bike seats that kept releasing and lowering, spontaneously (hence, the accident/injury). No bikes suitable for taller riders (and there's no shortage of tall people in The Netherlands). Guide expressed his views the government was trying to buy out farms to control the people through controlling the food chain, and climate change denialist. Can NOT get close to the castle that is depicted in tour/reviews. Rip off that could easily be fixed with standard operating bikes and not forcing group tour when billed as private. The ride itself was flat, easy, the towns and farms cute, but it felt like a scam.

Remcof was an exceptional guide who took us around town on our bikes. He met us at the train station and then we rode to a windmill and went inside to see the grinding of wheat (only on Saturdays)! Then he took us to a working dairy farm that had a little shop where we could buy cheese, by the local castle, and then to another cute shop where we tried the freshest milk. We got pictures in two different places of us in front of a windmill. It was a lovely day out in the fresh air and one of our favorite activities of our travels.

WOW doesn’t even describe this tour. Remco is so nice and knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed our entire trip to Amsterdam, but this tour was by far our favorite part.

Not only was this tour beautiful because it takes you to away from the city life and shows you another side of Holland and Amsterdam but the tour guide, Remco, was great! He was friendly, informative and catered to us during the tour. He also know all the best picture spots and got some great shots of us. I would recommend 100%!

We had a fabulous time with Remco. He customized the route to meet our interests. The pace was perfect and the background information was so valuable. Highly Recommended!

Hi Hindy & Ari from New York,
Thanks for hiring me to see the beautiful oustkirts on the bike. I think it was really nice to show you the Jewish cemetery too (as an extra because of your background).
Warm regards from little Amsterdam XXX
