What a fun day. Lovely to see some of the countryside close to Amsterdam. Skip was our guide, and he was excellent. Very informative and knowledgeable and made it a lot of fun. Bikes were great , easy to ride and comfortable. We had the best day, would definitely recommend this tour.

Great tour! Our guide gave us a lot of history! The bike ride through the village was the highlight for us!
This tour was so fun! Definitely need to be strong on a bike to keep up with Dutch. Our tour guide Victor was excellent, informative and so patient!
This is a bit challenging if you’re a rusty cycler but it’s a beautiful ride through the countryside. I wasn’t prepared for what I was in for, having not been on a bike in over 20 years, and found riding through the city (to get to the country) extremely stressful. Fortunately we had an awesome guide, Inge. She was so kind and patient even though I was surely her “problem child” of the day.
Our favorite part was visiting the farm where they produce the cheese. It was so nice to see the animals and get a look at the multi-generational family farm.
We highly recommend taking this tour with Inge!
Guide was good. The cheese and farm were forgettable. The ebike is definitely the option if you haven't rode a bike in some time.
Skip our guide was so full of information on Amsterdam. He was fun, interactive, and we had an amazing day.
A short ride in the city and a beautiful ride to the countryside. Well planned and our guide Skip was fantastic!
Wonderful experience to see the countryside and get out of the city. Sergi was a fantastic guide and we learned about the history.
there are components of this trip that might be helpful to break down:
first part - 20 mins or so cycling out of town through Ams traffic and other cyclists, road users. I found this to be overwhelming and scary. The tour guide was way ahead and twice people were left behind when they turned off and others got caught up in traffic.
second part - from the first stop on the outskirts of town at the Windmill site, to the village near the farm is about 30 mins and involves larger roads, faster traffic but less chaos with other cyclists and road users. This is easier because by now you are used to the bike but it is quite intense in terms of cycling power and includes two bridges that need extra energy.
Third part: from village to farm - quiet, pretty. Easy to cycle. Farm very nice but its quite a short stop long enough for a loo break, some squares of cheese and a soft drink.
Fourth part - from farm back to city: a different route, more countryside and then a very pretty cycle through lanes and residential area on outskirts of Ams before rejoining city cycling traffic and busier roads on the approach to the ferry.
Fifth part - ferry across to Ams Centraal: simple and straightforward takes 5 mins, then cycle back through city approx 5 mins to cycle hire venue.
My personal view is that the tour company would benefit from offering two guides (one front of group, one at back) for the first part of the ride through the city. People are trying to get acquainted with their bikes, navigating crazy traffic, overwhelmed. If you lose sight of the tour guide at the front you are lost. So a two-guide system reducing down to one from the Windmill site would be beneficial.

Our group we got caught up with the Rain and our Tour Guide Same was great. He was so apologetic about our experience. Once we arrived to the farm after a rough ride in the rain and windy cold weather our Guide Sam was trying to get things set up for us as far as the cheese and soda pops promised. The farmer who makes cheese and partner up with Flaship were short in response and had nothing ready for our arrival Sam tried to keep us warm and was apologetic about our experience. He atleast found a way to have us try the cheese. After getting back to central Amsterdam poor guy was getting ready for another tour. I would say to Flagship company please have a plan B for Weathers like this so your employees can have a smooth transition throughout their day. I saw Sam introduce himself to the next group. After a 3 hour cold and rough ride. I felt so bad so please give him a raise. Thank you!
Hidde was a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. He rolled with the few difficulties we had during the trip, made sure we were all accounted for at all times, would stop for slower riders and led us on a lovely ride.
It wasn't the Windmill tour I thought I was going to do, as we didn't go to Zaanse Schans. Overall still a great tour
This was a really great experience, especially if you’re looking for a shorter tour of Amsterdam that lasts around 3–4 hours.
I was traveling solo and had a long layover in Amsterdam, so I decided to book this bike tour, and I’m really glad I did. It was a great way to see a lot of the city in a short amount of time. The bikes are good quality. I personally chose the electric bike, but honestly, I would recommend getting the regular bike instead. Amsterdam is extremely flat, so you really don’t need the extra assistance unless you simply prefer it.
A special thanks to Skip, who was our guide. He was a great guy, very knowledgeable, and explained everything really well. The way he told the stories and explained the city made Amsterdam much more interesting and enjoyable to explore.
The cheese stop was also a really nice addition. The cheeses were genuinely delicious, and it was a fun little break during the tour.
Overall, I highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re traveling solo, have limited time in Amsterdam, or simply want a quick and enjoyable way to explore the city. Great tour and a big thanks to Skip!

Tour guide was not very attentive to slower riders. I found it too easy to get behind and lose the group. Made for stressful trip.
Skip was a great tour guide! I learned some things about Amsterdam's history, layout, civil engineering and housing that I did not learn at the museums. The ride was lovely, relaxing and a great excursion to the countryside just outside of Amsterdam. And of course the cheese was delicious!
I had no idea the town was built around this old windmill.. the ride was enjoyable. I needed more stops for photos along the way.. Skip was delightful.
Great tour, I highly recommend! I chose the ebike option which made the ride very easy, it was definitely doable without but the extra help made it really nice and I’m not sore afterwards! Either way is fine my group had both ebikes and regular. Good pace, good information from our tour guide, great cheese, I would recommend this bike tour. Biking in the city is a bit stressful but the countryside was gorgeous and relaxing.
The day we had booked our tour for turned our to be quite rainy so Flag Ship Bike Tour graciously switched our tour to today. We arrived for our tour and we're outfitted and the rules of biking explained and off we went. Our guide Sam was friendly, very aware of our safety and kept an eye out for us all. Within 10 minutes of starting it began to rain however we had prepared and it turned out okay. Lived the ride together windmill, Sam provided us some history. The ride to the country and the sheep and cattle farm was beautiful! ( And it stopped raining!) Tasted splendid good cheese and had a rest and then the last ride back through Old Amsterdam was so pretty! Thanks for a great trip and especially Sam for answering our questions, being patient and looking out for us!
We really enjoyed our bike tour with Flagship Bike Tours and had a great guide with Skip. We had some rain and wind on the back half of our tour but it was still an enjoyable day.
Mostly flat and scenic, a little hairy getting out of the city but doable for a novice, observant cyclist. My knees were slightly challenged on the 3-speed bike but the pace was leisurely so again, doable. Santiago, our tour guide was kind and funny, offering minimal narration at various stops along the way. Cheese tasting at the sheep farm was casual and delicious. Overall a pleasant bike tour in and out of the city.
A lot of fun. Biking in the city can be quite a challenge. Much easier in the countryside. Chip was an excellent guide.
It’s not exactly a leisurely countryside stroll. You have to bike for an hour through the city and up large bridges in order to even get to the countryside. If you are even the least bit out of shape, I wouldn’t recommend this tour. At the very least, an electric bike is needed.
Really enjoyed our tour with skip. Loved seeing the countryside and small towns. The farm was really cute and the sheep were out. I was fine with the standard bike but I think if I did it again I would choose an e bike as I was a little tired by the end!
u see one windmill for 2 seconds and its part of a bar lol, we got basically no fun facts the whole time maybe 1 or 2 here and there. the cheese was not that good and you dont learn anything at the farm. seems like false advertising overall. would not go again just get a bike yourself.
The bike ride was beautiful, but definitely a little chaotic getting out of the city! Especially with our 12-year-old. Once out of the city, the landscapes are beautiful and the villages we toured were very charming. Our tour guide is incredibly knowledgeable and very kind and interesting. I do recommend a smaller tour groups with kids.

Ensure the electric part of the bike is working before you leave the flat city centre. The guide was so far ahead he didn’t care 2 of us had to push the bikes up the bridges then we “lost” sight of the tailenders. No apologies for inefficient equipment.
No time for photos at stops. As soon as tail caught up quick explanation and off again.
Farm cleanliness leaves something to be desired.
No real interest from guide in ensuring people enjoyed the tour. Scenery from dyke back to the city was pretty.
Bridges were tough. Wanted an Ebike but they said I needed to be 5 ft 5. Myrthe was fantastic. Very knowledgeable. Niot sure how many miles it was. Cheese was awesome. Had some gelato, windmill was amazing

Myrthe is a fantastic guide, and we are so glad her deep knowledge added so much to your trip! Regarding the E-bikes, we do have minimum height requirements to ensure everyone can safely reach the ground and maintain total control while riding, though we completely understand those Dutch bridges and canal inclines can definitely give the legs a good workout! For reference, the full countryside loop is roughly 22 kilometers (about 13 miles) of scenic pedaling.

Watch for the bike crossing signals that the guide did not tell us about. Watch for other bikes and cars that are much faster that the tour.
