So glad we opted for the ride outside of the city. Eloise was a fantastic guide! The scenery was gorgeous and the cheese at the farm was so delicious. Lots of great historical information was shared and we also got a little exercise. We highly recommend this tour and would definitely do it again.

It was a great experience. Skip the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Great value for money. We had the e-bikes which made it even more fun. Beautiful villages, great cheese. No negatives at all.

Super fun - adventure time

perizaad_i, Jul 2026
Bram was an amazing tour guide and the cycle ride was really fun. We took regular bikes but I strongly recommend taking an E bike as the ride is intense .

Bram & the fantastic country windmill tour!

Donna_F, Jul 2026
We started out in the city, but quickly were out into peaceful country roads and along the water—crossed a couple bridges and went through small towns. We had 15 people in our group who were diverse and fun to talk with. We took pictures by the windmill and halfway stopped at a working dairy farm, where we saw sheep, Herons, cows, beautiful scenery and enjoyed cheese. My Strava app had it at 14 miles, but it was a very easy pace, and the bikes were in good condition. I highly recommend this. The history lesson & conversations with the guide Bram was also fun.

Great time!

Bryce_S, Jul 2026
Great experience. This was a great way to get out of the city and see some country. We decided on e-bikes and they were fun!

Phenomenal tour

Michael_B, Jul 2026
Outstanding tour. The most unique and comprehensive bike tour we have ever been on worldwide. We thought Alonso with Viator was incredible, but this one guided by Shep was phenomenal. Thank you!

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear Michael_B, We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It means a lot to us that you joined the tour and had a great time. We’re especially glad to hear that you found the tour so unique and comprehensive, and that Skip made such a phenomenal impression. Receiving such high praise, especially after so many bike tours around the world, is a huge compliment for both Shep and our team. We'll be sure to pass your kind words along to him. Hope to see you again on another adventure! Warm regards, Stevie Flagship Bike Tours

Disappointed

Raelene_B, Jul 2026
By far the worst thing I’ve ever booked with Viator. Only do this tour if you are a competent and confident cyclist used to riding long distances AND you are confident to cycle in Amsterdam’s traffic amongst other cyclists. Due to a couple of flat tyres in our group (no ones fault) we had lengthy delays and this turned it into 4 hours. Perhaps because of this we didn’t stop at advertised stops, in fact we hardly stopped at all, and we missed parts of the tour. To our tour guides credit he jogged several kilometres with the bike with the flat tyre until we could reach a point to wait for assistance to arrive. Other than that the tour guide offered very little in the way of information or stops or assistance. I was the oldest in our group and he never so much as said hello to me let alone ask how I was going with the pace, which he allowed to be set by a group of teenagers and was much too fast for me. He also didn’t offer assistance with the group crossing busy intersections in the city, I feel he should make sure his whole group has crossed before crossing himself not cross himself first then take off at his pace. Several times a group of us were left behind at intersections when lights changed. At the very end the group of us left behind didn’t know which way he had gone. Perhaps smaller groups would be a better idea. The farm stop and cheese tasting involves stopping at a farm and being offered two types of cheese that you could buy in the supermarket at home. Then you go look at some sheep in a pen. This tour would be better if the participants were bussed to a point in the countryside and then you did the cycling. It would make for a much more pleasant and less terrifying experience. People who feel confident in the city’s traffic would be better off doing the city tour. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement and a complete waste of money. I also tried to contact the tour provider via the Viator app 3 hours prior to the starting time and still haven’t had a response, 24 hours later. I delayed writing my review until the following day and upon reflection I still feel this is fair.

Disappointed e bike experience

Patricia_H, Jun 2026
The bikes were very hard to control. The mechanic said this was due to the style of bike. It felt like the headset was loose. The e bike was worse than the regular bike. The bike shop people were wonderful and easy to work with. Our guide however was not very informative. If you are looking for a beautiful country ride this is for you, but it came without much information on the sites.

Ebike to the countryside

Peter_G, Jun 2026
22 km bike ride on an e-bike. Very easy, though getting use to Amsterdam traffic of bikes, people, and cars is a bit challenging at first. Very nice once we were out of downtown. Not really a windmill tour... Only one, and it's a replica on top of a brewery. Lovely countryside.

Fun to see the north side

Sandra_W, Jun 2026
It starts with biking in the city. I loved the e-bike option. The countryside was more relaxed and pleasant.

Fantastic bike tour. Beautiful scenery and very informative.

Deb_S, Jun 2026
This is a bike tour going 15 k into the countryside. It is an easy ride for those who ride bicycles. Our guide, Brand, was fantastic. Sce nery was enjoyable and a good was to see Amsterdam.

Knowledge guide. Great...

Brooke_B, Jun 2026
Knowledge guide. Great overview of the city history. Loved getting out of the city and seeing more towns and the countryside. Highly recommend.

Best Part of My Trip!

Tyra_S, Jun 2026
It was the best part of my trip! The countryside was so beautiful! Our tour guide, Skip, was excellent! Great local information and history and the pace was just right.

Dangerous Tour

kara_l, Jun 2026
Do not take this tour unless you are comfortable riding in a chaotic urban environment. Our group peddled through the city of Amsterdam for more than 1/2 hour before reaching the countryside. Bikes moving at very high speeds coming from all directions, passing by within inches of you. You will have to cross many multi lane intersections on your own without wearing a helmet. Not knowing the local biking right of way rules and just hoping you don’t end up in a bad accident. It was by far the most stressful and least enjoyable experience of my entire vacation. Grateful I got through it with only a skinned knee. Could have been so much worse.

E-Bike tour - amazing

Patricia_R, Jun 2026
Skip was our guide and we had a great time! Bikes over 21 km. No rain, the countryside was very pretty, the cheese at the farm was delicious.

Absolutely do this bike tour!!!

Tiff_J, Jun 2026
What an EXCEPTIONAL tour! Do not let the length of the tour intimidate you. It's all flat, super chill and it's nice to get out of the city and cruise along canals and small villages - who knew all that was SO CLOSE!!! Our tour guide Sebastian was informative, knowledgeable and left no man behind! Do it. Book it, and enjoy! Thank you Flagship Bike Tours! It was my 3rd tour with Flagship and I will do one again next time. Best ever!

A great bike trip

Debby_F, Jun 2026
It was a great way to learn about the city and surrounding countryside ! Beautiful ride ! Our tour guide was excellent and made sure we were all safe while biking in traffic ! Despite the number of bikes and cars the city felt safe to bike in as everyone seems to follow the lights and the rules! Definitely worth the time and money !

Tour

Lisa_S, Jun 2026
Fun tour just expect some city riding as well as the countryside. Good guide. Return ride included ferry

Our guide was very nice...

PiaMaria_M, Jun 2026
Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. It was a pleasant and interesting bike ride. You don't need to be in good shape to participate.

Amsterdam bike tour

Doug_C, Jun 2026
This bike tour was a fab way to spend a few hours cycling from city centre to the countryside on our 2nd day in Amsterdam. It's well managed and not difficult.

Fun Bike Tour!

Sharon_B, May 2026
Our group had a fun time biking through Amsterdam into the countryside. We stopped for fresh cheese at a farm which was delicious! The only unfortunate issue we had was that one of our friends was under 5 feet. There was no information on Viator or the vendor's site explaining that you must be 5'5" to use an e-bike. My friend used a traditional bicycle and lead the pack of us e-bikers. I recommend that Viator post this disclaimer so that the user is not surprised. Beware of all of the other bicyclists: look left and right before crossing. What an experience!

X Amsterdam City and Country Bike Tour

August_T, May 2026
Ian was an excellent guide. He explained how the tour would work and ensured the group didn't get too far separated. The tour took us out into the country to sample some delicious local cheeses. On the return we took a short ferry ride. Ian was very knowledgeable having been born and raised in Amsterdam.

Dangerous Bike Riding

Diana_B, May 2026
Within the city of Amsterdam is very dangerous for older people (like us) to ride a bike (any type of bike). The cyclists in the city are way too fast and traffic is awful and caotic

if you are not a frequent cyclist, I do not recommend

Melanie_P, May 2026
I really wish I had read all of the negative reviews before booking this trip as it may have helped me make a better decision because the description is not 100% accurate on what the experience is. If you are someone who has not been on a bike in many years, even if you are fairly active, this tour is not for you. It is not an easy-going stroll through the countryside with lots of stops where you have a chance to take cute photos like the advertising on the tour shows. You end up biking over 13 miles, half of which is still in the city and can be a bit stressful with a big group trying to get through short green lights and dodging other cyclists. At the beginning the guide would stop frequently to let everyone catch up, but after my friend and I fell a bit behind because of two steep commuter bridges just before the countryside, I lost sight of the group for a time and had to guess where they went. When we did finally catch up because of a planned stop, I mentioned it to the guide but he was a bit short with me saying they can’t stop all the time for everyone. You only stop twice in the countryside, once to look at houses, and the other at the farm, which is the longest stop for a half hour where you get to pet cows/sheep and eat a couple pieces of cheese. The photos on the tour page are definitely just for promotion as you don’t get that close to the replica Dutch trading ship, the windmill is still in the city and over a brewery, and the cute white bridge is something you just cycle past and barely have time to look at. I would only recommend this tour if you are an avid cyclist, and that is what you are looking to get out of the tour. If you are looking for history, cheese tasting, countryside views, I think there are probably better tours out there. I actually think this tour would work better if you got bussed out of the city first and then grab bicycles to go for a stroll where you actually can stop frequently, take photos, and embrace more of the countryside.

Overall / nice bike ride tour

Pamx3, May 2026
Nice bike ride but it needs to be clearer that people under 5’5” should not ride the e-bikes as that part was what I was looking forward to. Farm was underwhelming with no good place to sit and rest. Beautiful countryside bike path.

Get Skip for your fantastic bike tour!

Kristin_H, May 2026
First of all, sure hope you can get Skip as a guide! He was very knowledgable, funny, and kept everyone safe. The ride is such a blast! So much fun riding through the city and then that gorgeous countryside.

Very nice tour! Our guide...

Amy_E, May 2026
Very nice tour! Our guide Ron was amazing! Very nice and informative! He made sure our whole group stayed together!

Sunny ride in Dutch countryside

Aaron_S, May 2026
We had a wonderful tour with Ron. From the bustling streets of Amsterdam around the palace and the train station to the wonderful amazingly close countryside that reminded my son and I of both Monet and van Gogh paintings. It was a wonderful ride on a beautiful sunny day. Would highly recommend.

Great guide, not really a cycle

Emily_B, May 2026
Tour guide was great. At times we had to cycle very slowly to accommodate all those in the group as there is no lower limit on cycling ability. In the first hour we only made it 4km

Between Water, Wind & Wildflowers- a whisper of the Dutch Countryside

Andrea_R, May 2026
This tour is such a treat! Our guide Ron was bright, kind and offered just the right amount of history to make this a fabulous day pedaling through the countryside.

Very nice ride

Janet_C, May 2026
It was a very nice ride and we went through some beautiful countryside. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great but that can’t be helped. Our guide Wolf was very good. I was a bit disappointed in the cheese portion I thought we would see how it was made .

Fun Bike Ride

Craig_M, May 2026
We enjoyed this tour. We saw areas of the city and space outside the city that we wouldn’t have seen without going on this tour. Ron, our guide, was very nice. Overall it was a great experience.
