What are people saying about Italy

Jeff, Oct 2026
An absolutely memorable experience.
We did a 3 hour tour with our guide Paula, who was absolutely perfect. She is friendly, pleasant, and extremely knowledgeable. We did a private tour, and we were so glad we did. With larger groups, you have to wear an earphone to hear the guide, and in the Vatican, because of all the people and the echoing, it's often hard to clearly hear what the guide is saying. But we didn't need the earphones, because we could get close enough to Paula that we could hear her just fine. One thing about the Sistine Chapel: It was worth seeing, but it was a little physically uncomfortable to look straight up the entire time. Also, you're not allowed to take pictures in the room of the Sistine Chapel, and there are security personnel watching the crowd to try to enforce this rule. Though a few disrespectful people still were taking pictures, and they didn't appear to be caught.

This was a full day tour....
This was a full day tour. Mano was our tour guide and was superb! He was very entertaining, engaging and gave us great points. He went in depth about the history of Florence and then pointed out all areas of interest along the way. Siena was a great stop and guide was great. So much to do and see. We then continued to a local lunch where we had an Italian meal and learned about different wines and got to sample them. Our next stop was San Giamagiano which I think should be removed. Not much to do there except eat and shop. The next stop was Pisa and I climbed the tower. If you’re able, do it! You won’t regret it.

Skip the line Vatican
Skip the line tours with Viator is the best way to see the Vatican and well worth the extra money. Our tour guide Aleesia was most knowledgeable throughout the entire tour. She got to know each one of us through the tour and made it so special for our group. Absolutely a 5 out of 5 experience!

Francesco made the tour!!
Francesco was amazing. He was very passionate about the tour and sharing information. He provided additional context and his passion for the history was evident. He was friendly and lovely to spend a few hours with. The tour was very well organized and it’s the best way to see the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. It can be quite overwhelming however Francesco made it manageable and we walked away in awe of the history. Highly recommend the tour with him.

Italy is a feast for the senses—but with endless options on your plate, it’s a challenge to take the first bite. Italy tours prioritize the country’s wealth of cultural sights, culinary hot spots, and outdoor adventures to make the most of your time, whether you’re visiting for a short break or an epic journey. Visit blockbusters like the Colosseum and the Vatican with a specialized guide, skirt the Amalfi Coast or Cinque Terre by land or sea, join a wine expert to sip your way through Tuscany, see the best of Venice by foot and on a gondola, and more.
