Stunning sites!

My favorite tour so far! Stops were much less crowded but no less spectacular than the Golden Circle. Wendy was great with communication throughout the trip and provided lots of great information on the country and sites. She made the decision to reorder our stops based on a large crowd and lines at our first planned stop and by the time we ended the tour with that stop, the weather was even better and no lines! It was a long day, but efficient and was able to see everything! Plenty of walking, I think I had about 12,000 steps, but all spread throughout the day and a few things I did were optional. I didn’t know what to expect with such a long day on the bus, so that was great to get some movement in too.

Sky lagoon was amazing!...

Sky lagoon was amazing! We splurged to opt for the private change rooms and it was game changing. Your own private little room with a shower and space to change with lockers outside the door. The lagoon itself was beautiful surrounded by high rocks and overlooking the ocean. The 7 step ritual was also unique, the only critique is that you can only do it once! We usually like alternating between the sauna, cold plunge and lagoon but the sauna is only available once when you go through the ritual. There is also a lack of seating in the main lagoon, so we were leaned against a rock the whole time. But definitely one of the best lagoons we visited

Breathtaking, awesome, incrediable......just do it!

Oh WOW! Gravel Tours offered this incrediable tour that we thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. Despite the rain it was the most amazing afternoon. Absolutely loved the Black Sand and photo stops. The Cave experience was breathtaking. The Cave is small but this did not affect our enjoyment. I love the return trip where our fabulous tour guide took us the the beach in the super jeep and dodged waves. So much fun! I loved the tale of the whale that wasted up on shore etc. Our tour guide was funny, charismatic and went out of his way to ensure we all had the best experience. We called him John as his Icelandic name is too complicated. Thank you John for making this such a fun and memorable experience.

A wonderful day in Iceland

Loved this tour it was brilliant. Our guide Mica/Michael was really good, super informative, a lovely pace of the tour and we saw everything with plenty of time. Loved the addition of the Blue lagoon at the end, really relaxing place. It’s a long day but well worth it!

Touring with Julianna

Our tour guide Julianna made the tour an outstanding experience. The sites we went to were very interesting with lots of photographic opportunities. But on this tour as well as the southern shores tour there is a lot of driving between sites. Julianna gave colorful, data rich information thoroughly the tour and cleverly created a mix tape of Norwegian soft music intermixed with her thoughts of where we were going. Everyone on the bus had positive energy (contrasted against a southern shores tour where there was hours of silence and low enthusiasm). Great tour - make sure you ask for Julianna!
