Scuba divers and snorkelers aren’t the only ones who get to see the beautiful Florida Reef in all its splendor. Thanks to this glass-bottom catamaran, there’s a very clear "window to the reef" for guests on this cruise.
Just a few miles seaward of the Florida Keys is North America's only living coral barrier reef and the third-largest coral barrier reef system in the world. It’s also one of the most biologically diverse marine eco-systems. Travel directly over the top of it and see more than 600 species of tropical fish, sharks, lobsters, crabs, sea turtles, sea rays, snails, jellyfish, and other sea life, including elkhorn and brain coral.
The boat, which is designed to allow the best viewing with the least amount of stress to the reef, offers a seated sun deck with a panoramic view of the water, as well as an enclosed, air-conditioned cabin with restrooms and a snack bar.
Opt for the sunset cruise to watch the sun settle into the Gulf of Mexico while enjoying a glass of Champagne or a soft drink.

Wonderful staff and very knowledgeable on the reef. This is our second sunset cruise with Fury. Seeing the sunset from a boat on the water is better than watching from Mallory Square. We didn’t see as many pretty fish as the first time but, the wind was unusually high that day making the sand around the reef cloudy. It’s still our favorite thing to do in Key West!

It was a great ride with knowledge about the reef. We enjoyed it an had lots of room to move around with great weather
Ample space on the boat. Great tour guide (Keith). Champagne toast at sunset. Great time out on the water.
I booked this tour because I wanted a sunset cruise that wasn't a booze cruise. Very family friendly activity. Guides were knowledgeable about the marine life. They did have champagne to toast the sunset, but it was a great option for my friend and I who don't really drink.
Nice evening trip on a nice clean boat with nice crew. If you don’t want a boat trip with a noisy band and drunk people on board - this is the place!!’

Thank you for the review, Sarah! The Glass Bottom Boat is a nice alternative to the typical party sunset cruise. Hopefully you saw some wildlife and learned a bit about our waters. You are welcome back anytime!
The best sunset cruise you can get in Key West FL and the champagne was a added bonus as well for the whole trip.
The ride was so relaxing and fun! The crew members were very funny and gave us lots of information about the reef!
Well seasoned crew, informative and ready to answer questions, and the view was simply astonishing! Thank you all very much, will visit you next time we come back to Key West!

Thank you for the review, Robert! We are glad to hear you enjoyed our experienced and professional crew and had a great view of our underwater world. We look forward to your next visit!
We really enjoyed the tour, tour guide in very knowledgeable. Other than viewing the marine life, you can spend time on the deck and enjoy the views.
Saw the reef bottom. Very few actual fish. The noise from so many kids and loud parents drowned out the announcements. Overall we were very disappointed.

Hello, John. We regret that you had anything less than a great time with us. As we are dealing with marine life, we are unable to control exactly what guests may see. Many factors are at play, wind, rain, current all can affect the sea life. As for the families, all Fury tours are family friendly. The Glass Bottom Boat does offer a nice open air deck if guests would like to take a break from the crowd gathered around the window to the sea. We do offer some lower capacity tours that may be more suitable. Please reach out to us and we will be sure to match you with the perfect trip!
Both of us loved the experience, seeing what’s never usually seen. Also a bonding moment neither of us will forget

Thank you for the review, Michael! Sounds like you all made a core memory, magical! We are so glad you saw the wildlife and coral. Please join us again!
Our glass bottom boat sunset cruise was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we boarded, the crew was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, making everyone feel right at home.
The views were breathtaking—the crystal-clear water allowed us to see vibrant marine life beneath the boat while the sun slowly dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with stunning shades of orange, pink, and purple. It was the perfect combination of sightseeing, relaxation, and natural beauty.
The captain shared interesting facts about the local area and marine ecosystem, making the experience both entertaining and educational. The atmosphere was peaceful, the boat was clean and comfortable, and the entire trip was exceptionally well organized.
If you’re looking for a memorable experience, whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’re a local, I highly recommend this sunset cruise. It was the highlight of our trip, and I would gladly do it again!
If you are not able to snorkel or dive but want to see the reef this the the trip for you. Remember to bring a camera so you can take pictures.
Good day. Didnt see the amount or variety of fish we expected. Captain and crew were friendly. Well educated. Gave good presentation. Overall a fun family adventure.
Fun trip, good crew, didn't see many marine life but the glass bottom was good. The sunset is from closer to the marina
Lovely boat trip. We learned a lot about the coral reefs and came back just as the sun was setting. A glass of champagne and the setting sun. What could be better.

We both agreed this tour was worth the money we spent on it.
We wanted to do this last time we came.

Thank you for the review, Lorie! We are so glad you decided to go for it and join us on the Glass Bottom Boat! We love that it was everything you hoped for! Please join us again!
If the captain tells you that it is too choppy and they will take you to another area, get off and get your money back. We did not see anything through the glass bottom.

Hello, Garnette. When conditions are not conducive to heading out to the reef, our Captains utilize the next best possible locations. As you mentioned, we do offer to cancel or reschedule, however, most guests opt to go enjoy the boat trip, the sea breeze and sea life in the Gulf waters. While not as vibrant as the reef, we do find there is usually much to see at these alternate locations. We hope you will join us when the weather is perfect!
Our guide was very thorough in explaining the reef and its many complex parts. Once on the reef many people were not considerate in sitting down allowing others to see over them.
The day was very windy. and actually water was too rough and boat very rocky. Not very informative and could not see anything from dirty bottom windows. The boat did not appear to be maintained well. Not worth the cost and I would not recommend this tour.

Hello, Connie. We regret you did not enjoy your day on the water with us as it is our goal to deliver fun and memorable experiences to our guests! The day of your tour was windy, hence the captain diverting the tour to an alternate location. Whenever the weather is not ideal and we feel our guests will not be comfortable in the waters offshore at the Reef, our Captains will pick the next best possible location. We did text all guests beforehand notifying them of the conditions. Guests have the option to cancel or reschedule when tours are amended prior to departure, however, most guests opt to go and enjoy the boat trip and sea life found in the waters of the Gulf. We can assure you the Pride of Key West is regularly maintained and cleaned. We regret that you did not enjoy the narration. Perhaps you would prefer the exhilaration of our jet ski tour!
Bring a towel. You might get wet ,suntan lotion and sunglasses. Very relaxing and informative about the Key West.

Thank you for the 5 star review, Timothy! We are so glad you found the tour relaxing and informative! Please join us again!
Very knowledgeable staff. Awesome views. The trip was safe and smooth. The trip was family friendly.
Clear instructions, great team, good commentary. Learned a lot about the harbor as we passed and the reef and the fish we went over
It was a bit disappointing as we did not get to go to the Atlantic side as advertised, but realize that was out of your control. We did not really see that much as expected

Hello, Thomas. We regret you did not enjoy your day on the water with us as it is our goal to deliver fun and memorable experiences to our guests!Whenever the weather is not ideal and we feel our guests will not be comfortable in the waters offshore at the Reef, our Captains will pick the next best possible location. We can assure you that if we changed locations, the conditions were far from ideal at the reef. We do offer the option to cancel or reschedule when tours are amended prior to departure, however, most guests opt to go and enjoy the boat trip, warm waters and sea life found in the waters of the Gulf.. While not as vibrant as the Reef, there is still typically much to see at these alternate locations. We hope to have you back when the weather is perfect and we can venture back out to the reef!
Good ride. Everyone enjoyed it. Kind of expensive. Also, when booking on the phone, I can never find a place that offers .any type of discount. Not your fault...no one does. I am 70 years old...and also retired military. No place to check on senior or military discount. So...might be something to add to the website.
The coral reef is not colorful at all and its hard to see any fish or other life since it blends in. It also is not for someone prone to motion sickness. Its worse when looking through the glass bottom. The narration is very good.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hello, Pam. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the narration portion of the tour! We are very lucky that so many days here in Key West look exactly like the beautiful photos and video you see on our website & other marketing materials. Occasionally wind, waves, clouds or rain can have an affect on visibility.
We do recommend those prone to seasickness take something prior to the tour, the tour goes seven miles off shore into open ocean where there is almost always some movement.
We hope to have you back, maybe on one of our gulf side tours!
I suggest you get some windshield wipers. The glass is very hard to see-through and I know this because we came back to Key Largo and took the princess. The most clear view of the coral just didn’t exist with you very poor. I think you should replace it with AI and no one would know the difference.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hello, Mark. We are glad you enjoyed Hannah on the tour. We will take your comments into consideration, we are always looking for ways to improve. Please join us for a more interactive tour in the future, maybe snorkeling or even parasailing? I assure you AI cannot replace that!
We loved this tour. The staff were great! The narrator was very friendly and full of knowledge about the reef. The captain even turned the boat around on our way back to shore when we saw a pod of dolphins so we could get a better look.
Very relaxing trip out to the reef. Staff was professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this trip.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for the review, Debra! We are so pleased to hear you found our staff knowledgeable and professional, they are very passionate about what they do! Please join us again!
The glass bottom boat has an inside deck, so we were not subject to the outdoor elements on this particularly cold, windy day. Our tour director was knowledgeable and told us a lot about the sea life we were observing through the glass. It was fun, educational, and safe.
Fun to see the reef. The guide was very informative. We walked through the inside and out to the back and had a great view. When you get to the reef, sit in the side the interpreter is speaking from so when things are pointed out you can see it. We got lucky and saw dolphins. The captain circled around so we got a great view.
