This was a fun and informative experience. I highly recommend this if this is your first time in Anchorage. You get a good overview of the city in less than 4 hours. Our tour guide, Melissa, was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Sampling the different types of salmon and sausage was definitely a highlight on the tour. We took a lot of great photos during our stops.

Buy some salmon jerky at the smoked fish place and eat it as your lunch otherwise you will miss a meal

The guide was well informed about Anchorage. She was very willing to go the extra mile to please her customers who had physical limitations. The merchants that we visited were also very considerate and knowledgeable.

Great way to get good feel for Anchorage. Our driver/guide was terrific. The tasking was fun and the sights he took us too were beautiful.

It’s mostly in a van with a guide that takes you to sure seeing stops. Got to shop and try samples of local fare including halibut, reindeer sausage, salmon and chocolate.
PeterMcCarroll, Jul 2026
Mostly visiting 3 retail locations, and two scenic lookout points. but they were all very interesting. Our guide was excellent.

Great coffee shop where you meet. Hats, food, and good coffee. Very friendly. We were later returning than our trip indicated if you are scheduling a pickup

Excellent introduction to Anchorage! Friendly, knowledgeable guide and a nice van to travel in. A great option to learn about the city’s history and culture.
Stanley_S, Jul 2026
It was a good general tour of the city, although slightly commercial since we stopped in a lot of businesses where you could buy things. But we’re tourists so that was kind of nice in a way. The driver had a lot of knowledge of the city and we learned quite a bit. As a new visitor, I would definitely do it again.

Gary gave us a great tour! He was very knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting. I recommend this tour for a great overview if Anchorage.

No refund for heavy rain. Very disappointing
Do not recommend
I even called and spoke with the person
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed.
Our city tour operates rain, snow, or shine, which is standard practice in Alaska. If we canceled or refunded tours due to rainy weather, we would rarely be able to operate.
We would also like to clarify that this is primarily an indoor tour. Guests are outside only briefly at select stops, typically for 5–10 minutes at a time, so the weather has minimal impact on the overall experience.
We understand that you called ahead regarding the forecast, and our weather policy was explained before your tour. While we respect that our policy may not align with everyone's expectations, it is applied consistently to all guests.
We appreciate your feedback and wish you the very best during the rest of your travels in Alaska.

The tour service was excellent
Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly
Helped storing our luggage and dropped us at the airport.

We took another tour with about the same stops... so it wasn't as new to us. I was with my husband, sister-in-law and a friend. We stopped at the fish place and the samples were not as they appeared on the advertisment, they were smaller. I thought this tour was .... look, taste and buy. The chocolate store was the same, but we did sample and buy there.

Great places to see. And the tour guide was very nice and friendly. I recommend this tour to first timer in Anchorage
Sharon_M, Jul 2026
Our tour guide was born and raised in Nome and shared her life experiences which made the tour much more interesting.
Michael_S, Jul 2026
The location is not at the address listed on the web site, or listed on the recipes. Good luck finding the pickup location, you’ll likely be late so head out early..
Garry_R, Jul 2026
Gary was incredibly knowledgeable about Anchorage telling amazing facts and answered everyone’s questions. He made the day very enjoyable.
Andrew_A, Jul 2026
We had an amazing time on this tour! Our guide, Vao, was exceptional—knowledgeable, personable, and fun to spend the day with. She shared cool stories about Anchorage, gave us wonderful local insights, and recommended some nice restaurants and places to explore during the rest of our trip. Since it was just our family on the bus, the experience felt incredibly personal and relaxed. Vao made the tour engaging, entertaining, and memorable from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for a better guide and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Anchorage.

We had to sit in the very back row and large stickers blocked 1/2 of our view. Also very tight in the back row. I’m 5’2” and only had a couple of inches before the seat in front of me. Thankfully my husband and I had the row to ourselves or it would have been very uncomfortable.
Cheyenne_T, Jul 2026
Gary was the best tour guide we could have expected to have, super knowledgeable and funny, and we’d easily book with him again!
David_M, Jul 2026
YMMV, but for us it's a disappointing.
The itinerary listed 8 activities and suppose to last 3.5 hrs. but we only visited 4 or 5 locations (some are almost drive-by) and lasted for about 2.5 hrs. Spent more time at the shops than viewing the scenery.
Although it's not a big deal, starting time was changed on the day of the tour, and when we arrived at the office there was a confusion among the staffs whether the tour will be cancelled.
Nila_G, Jul 2026
A great tour of the city and outlying area. Our tour guide, Melissa was very knowledgeable and personable. We only had 6 people on this tour so it was nice to visit on the bus. Our highlight was seeing a huge moose near the airport! I highly recommend this tour.
HAZEL_C, Jul 2026
The experience was interesting and rewarding. The tasting of the different types of salmons was impressive.
Peter_K, Jun 2026
A lot of hurried driving around to "points of interest" viewed, in my experience, with minimal commentary or explanation, ending with a pointless long drive to a "viewpoint" on the off-chance (during a stay of just 8-10 minutes) of spotting a beluga whale! The factory/shop visits were better because their staff spoke to us and gave interesting information (and samples!) and these were the aspects that made taking this tour worthwhile. Our driver/guide did not seem especially enthusiastic, did the minimum necessary and seemed keen to end her day and go home.
Barr_L, Jun 2026
One of the worst tours we have ever been on, we even cut out early. The tour guide seemed disinterested and not very knowledgeable. Our “salmon creek” stop consisted of a 15 second drive by.
Sherille_J, Jun 2026
This was a nice way to get acclimated to Alaska. Our guide was very knowledgeable, with tips and suggestions. The tastings were truly just tastings so don’t go hungry.
Brian_B, Jun 2026
It was a very informative and interesting tour. Our driver/tour guide, Bao, was very delightful and entertaining.
Linda_F, Jun 2026
We had a late flight out of Anchorage after a cruise. We chose this because it was in the middle of the day, lasted a few hours and the timing was perfect. We ended up enjoying it more than expected. We found it interesting and the tour guide was entertaining, showing us Anchorage with a few local samples.
Kent_N, Jun 2026
This tour was a great way to explore the city, see some sights, shop, hear about local history and daily life. A little bit of everything! Gary was a great driver and easy to listen to for 3 hours!
Jing_Z, Jun 2026
Our tour guide tells good historical information of Chchorage and places we visited. Highly recommended.
