Participants on this tour see things most tourists pass over. People of all ages enjoy encountering the canal and its tunnels and flumes, which makes it not a typical hike. This tour is enlightening look at what it took to settle the land in the American West. It took 12 years to build and was mostly a pick-and-shovel operation with no public financing.
