Our guide Guido really made history come alive for us. His words created vivid imagery of what it might have been like to be in the stands of the colleseum at an event... from the standpoint of every level of Roman life.,, from slaves to the Emporer. He dispelled myths such as Christians were throw to the lions there and that gladiators fought to the death. He kept us all together and gave clear directions. I feel lucky we got him as a our guide. I felt bad we had run out of Euros and could not leave a tip.. Would certainly recommend this tour to others.

Stand with the Gladiators

It was a long walk from our check in point to the entry point. Since I walk with a cane we did get left behind but we're able to catch up at the entry to Palatine Hill. Our guide was a wealth of information and stories and she helped what we were viewing come alive. As a retired history teacher, I strongly recommend a guided tour like this one over trying to do it on your own. She kept us focused on what was in front of us and was able to answer all our questions.
