- On Wednesdays, due to the Papal Audiences, access to St Peter's Basilica is not possible in the morning.

Great tour with wonderful information. Fabio did an amazing job of providing information and accommodating the group. We were traveling with a three month old and Fabio let us know exactly what to expect with the baby and stroller. Wonderful narrative and a good pace for all in the group, just the right amount is time to see everything. Would would definitely recommend!
Remember to dress appropriately, we didn’t need our passports so check before you go as this will save you bringing very important documents that you don’t need to bring! Remember, on Wednesday St. Peter’s Basilica is closed in the morning so the queues are long if you try to get in on a Wednesday afternoon. Haitham is an excellent tour guide.
Fantastic experience our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and her passion for the Vatican and sorry really show especially in the map hallway, which I found extremely interesting. Also, she was able to handle the crowds and get us through as quickly as possible, without missing the significance of the location

Paola our guide was very knowledgeable and took the time to ensure all members of our group could hear her, as the tour was very busy in parts and slow moving through. It went very smoothly with no issues and was an enjoyable experience for our first visit to The Vatican.

The tour company was amazing, so was the guide. The speakers were clear and we could understand him. He did warn us at the beginning that it's a lot to take in and some people get overwhelmed. He gave us permission if we needed to stop early or take a break from listening that we could totally do that. Most of our group of 8 needed to take his advice at points in the tour. There's a lot of people and that's not the tours fault. Looking now we should have skipped the Vatican and kept our Colosseum tour. Our whole group is pretty fit but we were at the end of a 14 day cruise and only 2 of 8 of us went to the Colosseum tour the next day, the Vatican wore us out that much. We lost $1000 but 6 of us valued our peace and sleep more than another day with crowds at the Colosseum. It's hard to understand until you do it.
This tour was good and enabled us to skip the hideously long line but it was incredibly expensive. I can't fault the guide and overall we had a good time but I don't think the cost is justified bearing in mind the cost to get into the Vatican museums in the first place.

Art history accredited Sylvia guided us deftly through the overwhelming maze of the Vatican -pointing out key pieces and their significance along the endless corridors. Her15 years of experience is our gift as she shared highlights, explained the unwritten and pre-empty tourist overload.
This is my third tour of the Vatican in 15 years. This tour was very similar to the others. The one difference was visiting the “sphere within a sphere “ up close.
The meeting point was well described and the check-in experience was smooth. Because of the large number of tours checking in, it is a good idea to get there 20 to 30 minutes ahead of time. Our “skip the line “tickets got us in in about 15 minutes instead of much longer for the non-tour folks.
Our tour guide, Stephanie, had lots of good information to share. Of course, the tour guide is a native of Italy. Therefore, sometimes the accent gets in the way of the English, but 99% was understandable.
After the tour is over, be sure to stay at Saint Peter’s so that you can visit the underground crypt. We would’ve liked to also buy the extra ticket for the climb up to the top of the dome, but the wait was 30 to 40 minutes, according to our tour guide. Since we had already been standing for 2 1/2 hours walking, we decided to skip it.

From our tour guide Tati to a breathtaking walk through breathtaking parts of history, I couldn’t recommend this tour booking enough.
Our tour guide Alessdrana was brilliant. Easy to understand, very knowledgeable and timed everything to perfection.
Even though we had an 8.30am tour the crowds were massive and at times made the experience 'hard going'.
It's worth noting that although it's a 3 hour tour the first 30 minutes is taken up queuing to get in... And that's the special "skip the line' queue!
Nevertheless 2.5 hours of information is a lot to take in but Alessdrana made it very interesting and struck the right balance of getting the key points of interest across at each location within the tour.
If you don't like being in crowded spaces, this might not be the best attraction for you but as far as the tour experience goes, we couldn't fault it.
Our guide Cecilia was very knowledgeable about the Roman culture. She was happy to answer questions, even quizzed us some throughout the tour. She was very helpful and in my opinion, brought the history to life! She made sure the group stayed together, but also didn’t rush us from seeing all of the viewpoints. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Excellent tour guide, we were very pleased. She was very pleasant and funny too. Very thorough on the history of the Vatican. The only negative I would like to share was the listening device. I am hard of hearing and the behind the ear device hanging on your ear was uncomfortable. It kept falling off and making it hard to hear the tour guide. You had to hold onto it if you want to listen more closely. And it fell of if you were trying to take pictures. The other tour we took from CityWonders used the box device with the ear plug, that worked much better and was more sanitary. All in all it was a great tour. Thank you!
Victoria was a superb guide, giving us details we would never have known. Her deep experience with the Basilica was impressive. I will forever remember this tour. We went in late September and it was still quite warm. No AC inside the museum. Book in spring or autumn.

Wonderful experience with a very knowledgeable guide, you will be walking a lot and that was just fine for my husband and I we are in our 40’s but if you have any issues with walking it’s a long tour be prepared.

I was very happy with the tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's Basilica that I had with "City Wonders". I especially liked the communication in the days leading up to the day, via emails and whatsapp. This made everything clear to me, with regards to the meeting point, the dress code etc.
As for the tour itself, our guide for the day Alessandra (Ally), was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, and kept me interested in what we were looking at. I am not really a religious person, but I appreciated the art and architecture, and the history behind them.
We did the semi private tour, and I would recommend this for a couple of reasons. Firstly the skip the line feature was greatly appreciated. I knew the Vatican would be busy, but I never understood how busy until I saw the queues. So skipping the queue was a great start. And secondly, having a knowledgeable guide like Ally, made the difference. Otherwise I would have been looking around the place myself, without knowing the story to any of it.
The length of the tour was around 3 hours. The fact it never felt like 3 hours to me, proved it was an enjoyable experience. It felt the right amount of time. It never felt rushed at all.
The only negative I would give the experience, is something not in the control of the tour guides. It was the amount of people inside. I knew it would be a lot of people, but the number amazed me. It was very crowded in there. Even more reason to get a skip the queue tour guide. I would have hated to have to wait in line. It was a long line!
In conclusion, I would highly recommend using City Wonders as tour guides for the Vatican. If you're going to visit the Vatican, you may as well do it right, and get a guided tour. And you will love it even more than me, if you are actually religious.
