Itinerary
The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Vatican Museums are visited by huge numbers of people each day, but with this handy Vatican tour—which includes priority access—bypass the worst of the crowds by entering with your guide through an exclusive entranceway.
The halls and rooms of the museum complex comprise miles of historic art and antiquities, but you go straight to the highlights, such as the Gallery of the Tapestries, the Gallery of the Maps, and the Pinecone Courtyard.
Continue to the Sistine Chapel, home of two of the most important frescoes of the Italian Renaissance. Learn about Michelangelo’s "The Last Judgement" and "The Creation of Adam" from outside the chapel (no talking inside), then head on in to admire the frescoes in person.
Follow your guide into St. Peter’s Basilica to see "La Pietà," another Michelangelo masterpiece, and learn about Bernini’s bronze altar. You can stay inside St. Peter’s Basilica after your tour ends, or head outside to St. Peter’s Square, where your tour ends.

It’s the way to go. Avoid lines, receive good information. It is an overwhelming place to visit, so your guide can zone in on most important info.

This is a good tour but feels a bit boring and long at times. The Vatican is a busy place. The chapels are packed.
Vineet_M, May 2026
Maria Sophia was a knowledgeable and pleasant guide who took us through all parts of the Sistene chapel and the church and museums in a very efficient way and saved us time too. She was also funny at times and made it very comfortable. Will highly recommend the "City Wonder" tours.

Our guide Cosimo was fantastic! He showed us all the highlights, led us around so we didn’t get lost and then gave recommendations on what to do after the tour ended

Utterly amazing and incredible. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommend this to anyone.
Lynn_K, May 2026
For efficiency you can't beat having a guide to take you all around. She was very informative and personable.

Amazing experience! Our tour guide Arbra, was amazing. She was super nice and provided so much information down to the smallest details. The tour was extremely fascinating, and she kept intrigued throughout the whole 3 hour tour. I would highly recommend visiting Vatican city and booking a tour with an excellent guide such as Ambra who just made it even more worth it. The art and history behind the Vatican is just amazing.

It was great to skip the line and experience all the history and information provided by an excellent tour guide named Elena.

Very good and informative tour. Rosella is awesome. Quite an amazing day though some areas closed off due to Rubio visit with Pope Leo.

This was a great way to see the Vatican for the first time! Julia was great! There is so much to see but she was able to condense the information to what was most important and not feel like we missed nothing. You start by going through the Vatican museum (so much to see), which gets you to the Sistine Chapel. Then you get to go to the Vatican and walk the gardens and end at St. Peter’s Basilica. No matter what, it’s always going to be super crowded but Julia made the tour enjoyable! She was super knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our questions! It was a great tour!

Be prepared for a while while walking, we want about 10,000 steps. However, it was well worth it. We went in May, and it was a little warm. Remember, women should wear dresses below the knees and sleeves covering the shoulders. Women can were pant and a sleeve T shirt. Men should wear long pants and a sleeved shirt or T shirt (with NO profanity). Our guy said that it can be very hot in July. Be warned. The system Chapel was beautiful, however, any other reason you can’t talk or take pictures.. don’t worry, you can take pictures everywhere else.

Simply breathtaking! How else can you describe the visual experience of these bodies of art! Christine was a fabulous tour guide and her passion for the arts and sharing her knowledge with us stood out! I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Georgio was amazing! He was so knowledgeable about everything and made our experience so worth it. Definitely recommend this tour.
carol_f, May 2026
We had a great tour guide named Giorgio he explained everything very informative very patient would recommend him to anyone. Just so you know there is a lot of walking.
Michael_B, May 2026
This was a wonderful way to see one of the most iconic parts of Rome. Our guide was solid in leading our group with good information and knowledge about how to navigate us well. There was a LOT to see in the Vatican museum and I had wished our guide had made more time for us to see and absorb hall after hall of amazing artworks and history.
Jackie_Z, May 2026
This was not the best experience. It was almost like a race to the finish line. Our guide walked very fast and at the beginning of the tour told everyone to use the toilet now because once I get going I do not stop. That was so correct. We even lost track of the guide several times. This was an absolute cluster, it was due to the tour company but the museum alowing many groups in at the same time. Couldn't really see the art, tapestries or anything because so many people. Alot of pushing and shoving, my bad foot got stepped on twice and I ended up pretty much was limping my way to the end. The museum really needs to re think how they handle the numbers. The museum staff was less then great simply telling people move along, keep going while in the Sistine Chapel.
Certainly not worth 300e
Response from Host, May 2026
Dear Jackie_Z,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that the crowded nature of the museums and the pace of the tour made for a difficult visit.
The Vatican is indeed one of the most crowded sites in the world, and during peak times, the museums can become incredibly congested. Because of this, our guides must maintain a steady pace to ensure the group stays together and reaches the Sistine Chapel within our strictly allotted time slot.
While our guides do their best to navigate the crowds and keep everyone accounted for, we understand how the environment can feel overwhelming and rushed.
Please note that the staff inside the Sistine Chapel are Vatican employees who enforce their own rules regarding silence and movement, which is unfortunately outside of our control.
We appreciate your feedback as it helps us look for ways to improve the experience under these challenging conditions.

I really enjoyed the tour and our guide Cosimo was funny & knowledgeable. I will say though that 3 hours just isn’t enough time to see everything.
Shubha_M, May 2026
Iman was a fantastic tour guide! He not only took us around the sites quickly and efficiently, he also shared his immense knowledge through the beautiful unforgettable sites
Peter_M, May 2026
Georgia was outstanding with his knowledge, experience, and points of interest in the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. It was worth the investment that I'll never forget.

My wife and I recently toured the Vatican with Sylvia, and she made the experience truly outstanding. From the start, it was obvious how experienced and knowledgeable she was. She mentioned she has been giving tours for 15 years, and her depth of knowledge about the history, art, and religion of the Vatican was remarkable. She was able to answer even difficult questions from the group with ease and gave context and insight far beyond what we expected from a typical tour.
She also did an excellent job guiding our group through the huge crowds and busy areas of the Vatican. She kept everyone organized, helped us anticipate stressful moments, and made the entire experience feel comfortable and smooth. Just as importantly, Sylvia conveyed the significance and atmosphere of the Vatican in a way that felt genuine and meaningful without ever feeling rehearsed.
We left the tour with a much deeper appreciation for what we had seen and are very grateful for the experience she provided. We would absolutely recommend Sylvia to anyone visiting the Vatican and would encourage others to request her specifically by name.

Cosimo did an excellent job of sharing his extensive knowledge of Vatican City he was funny and personable. I loved having a tour that included a guide for every part. Everything was timely and organized
Anita_S, May 2026
Oxana was very knowledgeable. It would be foolish to take this tour with out someone like her. She is a historian
Kathleen_L, May 2026
The tour guide is very knowledgeable in the history art and religion. She made the tour very interesting.
The only drawback was the crowd. Even we joined the 9am tour, the places were packed, jammed packed.
I am happy as i would like to visit the Vatican city at least once in my life time.

There is lot of walking involved but the Museum and the Sistine Chapel were both amazing, educational, historical and mesmerizing to see the great work of the one and only Michelangelo!!!
