An Engaging, Informative Tour

I was so glad that I booked this tour. Our guide, Joe, was great. He was a great storyteller who kept the tour engaging and informative. There is so much to see inside the castle walls, and the views are amazing. I would plan at least an extra half hour after the tour to go inside the buildings inside the castle walls.

We booked this tour under Viator, however, no where in the directions are we told which tour operating group is actually running this excursion/tour. Other than an address and a color of an umbrella, it felt a bit odd approaching an unknown tour group. Once we connected with our proper group, we were able to relax a bit, while the rest of the group assembled. Our tour guide was Ben and he was awesome. He was friendly, funny and informative. We enjoyed his commentary and welcomed all questions. He made this excursion/tour. Well done. The castle tickets were provided and we could spend as much time as we wanted there. Ben gave us the must do list and set us free. My only complaint is in the directions and meeting place. This is such a critical piece, and the app simply falls short in properly communicating which tour group to be looking out for. In these big cities such as Edinburgh, we don’t want to feel as if we are trying to find a needle in the haystack.

We booked this tour to learn a little more about JK Rowling and Harry Potter. This tour did not disappoint. Our guide, Finley, was fun , knowledgeable, and excited about all things Potter. Finley did a wonderful job giving us tidbits of local history while including stories about JK Rowling. The tour was given throughout Edinburgh. A great time was had by all. Would absolutely recommend!

Steven is the best and this tour is amazing!

Steven was an incredible tour guide - so knowledgeable and friendly! I love it when you can just feel how much someone loves what they do and where they live. I also loved the pace and all the things we got to see on this tour - I know “speed dating” type tours aren’t for everyone but I really loved this one. Steven shared so much history and stories about Scotland and the places we saw, it made for a very special day!

Colin the "Belter"

Colin was our guide. He was a "Belter". Great guide. Great tour, amazing views, just a very long tour. Plan to bring snacks or make late dinner reservations when entering back into town. We hit some road diversions to and from that held us up and additional hour was added. But are we complaint about those views and banter from our guide? Absolutely not. 10/10

Nice overview of Edinburgh Castle

Meeting place is 1/2 mile BELOW the castle, then they walk you up to the castle. Our guide, Koffe, was very friendly and entertaining! He gave an hour and a half overview of the history of the castle, pointing out the buildings and describing what was in each so that when our official tour ended we could decide which parts of the castle we wanted to explore further. Make sure to allow yourself an hour or so longer than the tour lasts so you can go in the buildings and see stuff (like the Crown Jewels)!

Really enjoyed our trip to St. Andrews and walking the Old Course and wandering the beach and the village. David H our driver had many greay stories to tell us and provided so much information. Really enjoyed his recommendations for fish n chips and donuts! A superb day trip.

Lots of very interesting information about Edinburghs history and shady past. The guide, James, was well informed, enthusiastic, and full of passion. It was a worthwhile excursion. Please be aware there is a very high step to get into the building. Maybe they could invest in a stepping block. And it is dark and wet inside so something to be aware of with any visual impairment. Strong smell of dampness, to be expected, but again for those who get sensory overload it’s something to take into consideration This is a great way to spend an hour if you like history, and fun facts. Worth the Time

Our guide, Ross, was engaging and knew so many small details that you really wouldn’t have realized, unless you did a deep search on history and we got back to our hotel and did a deep dive on everything he told us, including the small details and it was wonderful! This is what you want in a tour guide, somebody who can project their voice over all the talking and who knows little details and is quite happy to be doing their job!
