If you are wanting to see...

If you are wanting to see the beauty of the Scottish highlands, have your chance at a sight of Nessie, and learn about Scottish history, you are in the right place. Phil was a fantastic guide and provided vast knowledge, quick wit, and professionalism. This day trip was definitely a highlight of our holiday. The day starts off around 7:30 when you load onto a coach, the seats were nice and even had charging ports for your phone. Then begins the tour learning about historical figures such as William Wallace - the first stop was a good place to grab brekkie around 9 am, during the stop, there is a great gift shop and hairy coo’s (also known as highland cows), from there you set off to the lowlands and highlands with quick stops for photo opportunities. Lunch was one of the longer stops in a really cute town with good stores, kind residents, and some great food. There were more stops for photos and to get out and stretch your legs (including photos of Ben Nevis - highest mountain in the UK) before arriving to Loch Ness - there is an opportunity to do a boat ride (definitely recommend) and learn more about the mythical Nessie and enjoy the views of the loch. You then set off back towards Edinburgh where you stop off for a quick drink or bite in Pitlorchy - they are famous for their Scotch whisky ice creams - you should definitely grab a scoop. From there you head back to Edinburgh for about a 12.5 hour day. 5/5 would recommend to anyone wanting to explore the highlands.

Excellent tour. James was the best tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and brought history to life. He also is extremely entertaining-his delivery is exceptional. He explained that the tour company is a small group of historians- very special. I highly recommend this tour.

Great tour, great tour guide!!

Alistair was a great tour guide. Lots of knowledge, amusing and went at a good pace for the whole group. Alistair referred to the group as the family, and talked about making sure everyone was looking out for each other, which I thought was a nice way to set the scene for the tour. I really enjoyed learning some of the history of the Castle.

We had a fantastic time on the Loch Ness tour yesterday. It was a really enjoyable and memorable experience from start to finish. The sights along on the way were breathtaking. There are more than enough breaks through the journey making it not a tiring one. A special thank you to our guide, Louise, who made the day even more special. She was so friendly and welcoming, and her knowledge of Scotland, especially the folklore and local stories, was brilliant. We really enjoyed listening to her stories along the way. You could really tell that she loves what she does.

Fantastic experience!

Kaffe was a truly excellent guide. His passion for history shines through in his wonderful storytelling skills. We got a guided tour because the regular tickets for the castle were sold out, but now I'm so glad we did it that way. I don't think we would have had nearly the depth of experience that we did without Kaffe. I also thought it was super sweet that one of the little kids came up to him afterwards and said how much he wished Kaffe would be his history teacher at school. <3

This truly was an incredible experience!! I only needed more time lol because we loved it soooooo much !! I brought my son on this trip with me bc he loves golf . We loved the time to walk the course, driving range etc on our own . Also enjoyed the town itself and all it offers . The other towns we stopped were such a bonus as well !!! Our tour guide, Shaunwas amazing and made the trip just over the top with his knowledge, humor , and overall enthusiasm!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!

We did the Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Pitlochry Tour, and our guide Marco was incredible. He was a very safe driver, extremely communicative, and kept things lively and fun the entire day. He's the type of guy you'd genuinely want to hang out with as a friend — easygoing and laid-back, but completely dialed in and on top of everything at the same time. The Highlands were more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for. Marco kept us in the loop whenever we passed a site or scene used in a movie, telling us exactly what film and scene it was — his knowledge was impressive. You could tell he's done this tour a thousand times and still genuinely loves his job. One tip for future travelers: be back at the bus on time. These drivers are under real pressure to stay within their legally allotted driving hours, so they don't have much room to wait around for slow-comers. We had a couple of people in our group who tended to drag their feet, which held everyone up. A little punctuality goes a long way in keeping the day running smoothly for everyone, including the driver. Aside from that, this was a fantastic day from start to finish. Highly recommend, and ask for Marco if you can!

Helpful Experience

This was a great way to spend time in Edinburgh. It was helpful to be guided instead of wandering around. It made it easier to walk around after and find things to do. Ricky was the best guide. It was fascinating learning about the history of the Edinburgh bridge vaults. The tour guide was informative and engaging while walking the group through dark and damp corridors. Even though the long history of the vaults is generally depressing, I found the experience very worthwhile.

I cant remember our guides name but I really appreciated the fact that he said the names, locations, and/or dates when he started talking and then again after he was finished. He was Scottish and had a Scottish accent but was clear and easy to understand! We originally were not going to go on a tour of the castle but they were sold out (Aug/Fringe festival) of tickets so we checked Viator and they had tickets + tour and truth be told I am glad we took the tour. Seeing the buildings are great but without some of the historical information behind it I think you do yourself a bit of disservice, unless you have done the research yourself. The tour is done outside of the individual building(s) but within the castle walls so once the tour is over you can go explore with additional information. We did the 10 am tour which was perfect because it allowed up to be done with the tour, have lunch and be outside ready for the 1 pm cannon. It was very very very crowded (Aug/fringe) but IMO well worth it!

Highly recommend the Isle of sky, Highlands, and Loch Ness three day tour!!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on the three-day Isle of Skye, Highlands & Loch Ness tour, and our guide, Gillian, was truly exceptional! From the very beginning, Gillian was friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly experienced. Her stories and knowledge of Scotland made the beautiful scenery and places we visited even more memorable. One thing we especially appreciated was what an excellent and safe driver she was. We traveled on many narrow, winding roads, and at times the weather was quite challenging. Through it all, I always felt completely safe and comfortable with Gillian behind the wheel. Three days is a lot of time to spend with a tour guide, and Gillian made every day enjoyable. She was warm, engaging, professional, and genuinely seemed to care that everyone was having a wonderful experience. Gillian is simply one of the best tour guides anyone could ask for. She was a huge part of what made our trip through the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye so special. We would highly recommend this tour—and if you’re lucky enough to have Gillian as your guide, you’re in for a fantastic experience!
