Koffe was very knowledgeable, funny, and answered all our questions. He was an exceptional guide and we recommend him!

Max was a great and knowledgeable guide. We learned a lot about that different buildings on the castle grounds in a fun and informative way, so that we knew where to focus our time after the tour. He also tried to keep us in the shade as much as possible since it was an unusually hot day. Highly recommend... And just be sure to plan for 2-3 more hours at the castle after the tour to explore the inside of the buildings.

Absolutely wonderful tour. Well organized amidst the chaos of all the visitors to the castle. Georgia was fantastic and did the whole tour with her adorable daughter on her. Much kudos as it was a warm day.

Excellent tour of Edinburgh Castle. Little Fish Tours and our tour guide was Koffe. He was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable!!
Linda_B, Jun 2026
Meeting place is 1/2 mile BELOW the castle, then they walk you up to the castle. Our guide, Koffe, was very friendly and entertaining! He gave an hour and a half overview of the history of the castle, pointing out the buildings and describing what was in each so that when our official tour ended we could decide which parts of the castle we wanted to explore further. Make sure to allow yourself an hour or so longer than the tour lasts so you can go in the buildings and see stuff (like the Crown Jewels)!

Our guide , Jess , was excellent !! She was very informative and engaging. She made the tour very fun and interesting.

Just know it's a tour around the interior of the open castle courtyard. There are many places to enter in there so make time afterwards as this tour only scratched the surface.
Heather_C, Jun 2026
It’s very packed. It was sometimes hard to hear our guide over all of the other people and all of the other guides. It also seemed as all the different guides were saying, all kinds of different information and various spots. It would’ve been nice to have the guy be able to take us down into the jail into the chapel, etc..
I definitely wish we just did the headphones. We feel it would been more informative inside the buildings and help cut on the noise and distraction as we walked through.

It was great. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. We highly recommend it . The meeting place and ending spot were easy access.
Tara_W, Jun 2026
Directions sent to wrong side of street, so crowded I had hard time finding group, walked us downhill to just walk us back up again, couldn’t hear guide well and he walked way too fast uphill in the crowd. Peeled off and did the tour on my own with audio guide once in.

Tour was great! I thought I had bought a ticket just for entry into the castle. I walked all the way up the hill and was told I had to meet my group down at the bottom of the hill!! Lot's of walking that day - but it was worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny and made the history of the castle very interesting.

Pleasure walking in the rain with Graeme
Learned a lot about the castle, history, and sieges over the years
Julia_R, Jun 2026
A wonderful tour, covering the highlights of the castle and it's history. Max our tour guide had an incredible depth of knowledge when it came to Scottish history, yet, kept it concise and fun. He allowed space for questions and gave us recommendations for exploring the castle on our own. Highly recommend!

We loved Max's passion for story telling and had a great time learning from him about Edinburgh Castle and it's rich and at times dark history. Great tour and highly recommended. Be ready for some walking and crowds as June is peak season. Max really knows the history and is very passionate about his job which helped us enjoy.

Great tour. Learned lots of history and our guide, Matthew was phenomenal. Very witty and informative. Great story teller.

Big G was great. True Scot, he sounds perfect and knew his stuff. Pleasant and engaging! We enjoyed our tour.
Samantha_S, Jun 2026
Absolutely fantastic tour with Georgia! She was funny, smart, and shared some fantastic insights to the history of Edinburgh and it’s magnificent castle. The tour starting along the Royal Mile made for a nice start walking along the infamous street. Highly recommend you give yourself a solid 2-2.5 hours including the tour to properly see everything.
Joe_G, Jun 2026
Our guide, Sonia was informative, funny making the tour very enjoyable. The castle itself is impressive and the views are awesome
Gloria_F, Jun 2026
Be sure to have the exact location of your guide. Arrive early and ask folks around you to make sure you find your correct guide. Otherwise you will not be allowed into the Castle and you likely will not get a refund 😭
Dana_M, Jun 2026
There is a lot of walking on this tour, some uphill, so wear comfortable shoes! And you are on your feet for the full 90 minutes, as well. That said, our tour guide Koffe was very entertaining, very informative, and a pleasure to listen to. He gave us a lot of history and helped us understand exactly what we were looking at. You will not see everything there is to see during this tour - for instance you are told about the dungeon and the oldest building in Edinburgh but you don't go through them - so allow for another couple of hours at the castle to explore on your own after the tour ends. It would have been nice to have had those things included as part of the tour. Overall, a worthwhile experience!

Edinburgh castle was disappointing wish I'd booked the old town tour. I will book again with little fish 100%
Beth_B, Jun 2026
So fun, perfect length of time - one hour or so, walked away with a beautiful, useful and fun souvenir.
EllenW, Jun 2026
Be prepared for crowds. Our guide, Matthew, was wonderful. Entertaining, and knowledgeable, and full of fun facts.
Samantha_S, Jun 2026
Lovely castle trip, guide very knowledgeable about everything Edinburgh and good sense of humour too
Wendy_L, Jun 2026
Really knowledgable and friendly guide. Made the tour very interesting. Made sure his group was always together before he started telling us about where we were
Amy_S, Jun 2026
The description tells it all. Guide takes you around the grounds then you can go into the castle after the tour. Most of the inside is a museum
Ilana_W, Jun 2026
Ben was an incredible guide! We loved his humor and learned so much. We then spent some time exploring the castle on our own as well. It was well worth the time/ money at the “can’t miss” spot!
Matthew_G, Jun 2026
Guide was great. He was funny and kept the large group entertained. Thank you for a great time! We’d do it again.
Jackson_K, Jun 2026
Stop scrolling and book this castle tour. Euan (or Ewan) was the perfect ambassador. As I looked at other groups, I was SO thankful for our guide. Energetic. Passionate. Funny. Engaging! Normally I do not like to book group things, but this is/was a must do. Couple of notes.
Allow time after to visit the “rooms.” As stated, this tour doesn’t go inside any rooms. Though this is the “forgotten” and besieged castle of history, there are some rooms to peek in to. Also, be prepared for all kinds of weather even if it appears to be clear in the beginning.
Thank you for offering this tour and for keeping your traditions alive. And…. Way to go in your World Cup opening game win!!!! Euan brought the luck indeed.
