Edinburgh castle walking tour

I can't rate the first part of the tour as we got stuck in traffic and missed it. Even though we were late, they were awesome and had someone waiting for us and caught us up to our guide. We got there just in time for the castle grounds part of the tour. Our guide, Joe, was excellent. He made the history very interesting and told several of the myths of the castle. He kept a nice pace and was very easy to understand and a pleasure to listen to. Highly recommend.

A great way to see Scotland

This tour is a fantastic way to experience a bunch of different sides of the Highlands in one shot. It’s a long day, of course, but it was packed with stunning photo stops and tons of interesting history. The Loch Ness boat tour delivers as well. This was our favorite day of our vacation.

Top of the Rock!

Tour was great! I thought I had bought a ticket just for entry into the castle. I walked all the way up the hill and was told I had to meet my group down at the bottom of the hill!! Lot's of walking that day - but it was worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny and made the history of the castle very interesting.

Great day out from Edinburgh

Well designed tour that was well worth the cost. We are not golfers, but St Andrews can be enjoyed by anyone. Shawn Gordon was our driver and a great host. We had authentic Scottish music and his command of history and architecture while we were driving made the experience a really special one. Our Tour guide Mark C was excellent. He provided great insights and spoke very clearly and with enough volume for everyone to hear. The walk up the Royal Mile was informative and the Castle was amazing. I recommend this tour if you want to learn a little history about Edinburgh.

Do the lake cruise!

The experience was fantastic. Neil was awesome. Very entertaining and full of knowledge and jokes! We thoroughly enjoyed Loch Ness and the glencoe. The only complaint Pitlochry was for the most part closed other than a couple of souvenir shops and ice cream. It was a long stop for there to be nothing to do but walk 1/10 mile back and forth. Would love to have had longer in Loch Ness and used Pitlochry for a shorter stop seeing as it was pretty much shut down by 6:00

Great way to see the countryside outside of Edinburgh!

This was a first-rate experience! Mark, our guide, was super-friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. He put everyone instantly at ease. He brought us to a number of breath-taking locations, and the accommodations in the Isle of Skye were perfect for what I needed. If I had to identify one area for improvement, it would be the van - the seats were comfortable but the legroom was very tight (and I'm only 5'4"). Placing even a small backpack at my feet meant my legs were partway in the aisle for much of the ride.

A fun walk through Edinburgh

This was a lot of fun! Our guide, Leo, was very knowledgeable and his presentation was very, very good. We had a young girl in our group who clearly loves the series, he singled her out, and made this tour extra special for her. It was so much fun to watch! The history and background of the books come to life as you see the locations and nams that inspired characters in the books.

Excellent tour with G

Our guide was G. He gave us an authentic, animated, and informative tour up the “Royal Mile” and onto the castle grounds. His knowledge of the castle and history was very impressive. I’d recommend G to anyone taking this tour. There is a decent amount of walking up and down hills on cobblestone and brick streets, but it’s not overwhelming. There are amazing views of the city with multiple opportunities to take photos. Once the tour is over, you can do additional exploring of the grounds on your own and visit some of the other buildings and scenic views.

Don't miss the underground!

Nick was an incredibly lively storyteller and really made this tour come alive. The whole thing was very thorough, and very spooky. We were so intrigued by the history that we popped over to a nearby bookstore looking for more information about the vaults, but found that Nick's tour covered almost everything we read in the book we chose. Highly recommend for an unconventional tour of Edinburgh.
