There were seven of us from 64-11 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The wildlife center was excellent and there guide moved the van several times in case anyone got tired of walking, he also had a lot of knowledge about the center. Lunch was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour

    Great Intro to Alaska

    Ted_H, Sept 2026
Caribou Tours owner and guide, Tim, provides the first-time Alaska visitor with an insider’s view of life in and around Anchorage. As an Alaska native, he’s built a solid tour, full of varied experiences, Alaska (rescued) wildlife, and topped with a delicious late lunch in Girdwood, on the return to Anchorage. (Bonus: Let Tim know your lodging or hotel and he’ll pick you up and return you.)

We booked this tour on the last day of our trip, so it was relaxing and easy for us. I liked the field-trip feeling of the tour. Our tour guide, Tim, was very friendly and flexible. When people wanted to stop to take pictures, he accommodated them. We were the last ones he dropped off, and we were not in a hurry. He made a detour to show us one of his friends’ houses because he wanted us to see their beautiful garden. That personal touch made Tim’s tour feel special and heartwarming.

Enjoyable tour with a knowledgeable and attentive guide.

Tim is a great guide. Made the effort to strike up conversations with everyone, clearly very attentive. He was friendly and lively and was very knowledgeable, fulling us in with many historical facts. The animals at the conservation center were delightful. The Portege glacier was magnificent. Lunch was delicious. Highly recommend the Deck Hand steak sandwich. At the end of the trip, Tim was kind enough to drop us off at the airport to catch our return flight. Saved us the hassle of going back to the hotel.

This was an amazing tour to see breathtaking sites and get to experience a wide range of animals native to Alaska ranging from black bear, brown bear, moose, caribou, bison, music, and much more. Tim was an excellent tour guide who was very informational being a local and made the tour fun and relatable to his audience. We had many stops to get pictures and had a great time with family and friends. Highly recommend this tour!!

My family and I took the Turnagain Arm tour August 4th and we all had a great time! Tim is informative and has great (dad) jokes! We loved visiting the AWCC and Girdwood Brewery and all the wonderful stops in between! It was very helpful that Tim will pick you up at your choosen location. The can was clean and spacious and Tim provided snacks and water. We planned to take a train the next day and appreciated the advice Tim gave to take a different route. This was a great trip and I'd highly recommend it to anyone without a rental car/on their first day in Alaska, but really anyone else too!

Great way to view the scenery and visit lesser known spots

Very laidback trip with excellent guide, Tim. Small group of 5 made for almost a personal tour. Comfortable transportation.

The tour provided an excellent overview of what the greater Anchorage area has to offer. The tour description is accurate. I loved the nature and wildlife stops particularly. We lucked out with an up-close (but safe) moose sighting, for which we made an unplanned—but much appreciated—stop at Potter Marsh. I would’ve liked more time at the AWCC, but enjoyed the time spent. The lunch took more time than expected but was very good.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our trip to Beluga Point and the Alaska Conservation Center was outstanding from start to finish. The scenery at Beluga Point was breathtaking, with stunning mountain and coastal views. We were excited to see a moose in the wild and many beautiful birds throughout the day, making the experience truly unforgettable. The Alaska Conservation Center was excellent, offering a close look at Alaska’s amazing wildlife while teaching us about conservation efforts. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging, sharing fascinating facts about the animals, local history, and the surrounding area. His expertise made the tour both educational and enjoyable. The lunch was fantastic, and the entire excursion was well organized, relaxing, and memorable. We highly recommend it.

We lucked out and saw the birth of a wood bison at the AWC! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the animals at AWC and very sleet to sightings along the way to the AWC.
