A Perfect Day! Small Group. Good Guide and Close-Up Bear!

We took the Wildlife and Glaciers with a Walk in the Rainforest Tour, and it was the highlight of our time in Anchorage. With only six people in our group, the excursion felt like a private, personalized experience rather than a crowded commercial tour. Our guide and driver, Brian, was great. He was knowledgeable and kept us entertained. Brian shared local insights during the stunning drive down the Seward Highway. The itinerary was the perfect snapshot of Alaska's best features, but the highlight was visiting the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. We got to see a large brown bear go for a swim in the river. He was so close to us that I was able to capture some incredible pictures using my cell phone. Between the close-up wildlife encounters, the coastal views at Beluga Point, and the beautiful, peaceful walk through the coastal rainforest in Portage Valley, this trip packs everything you want into a perfect half-day pace. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough!

The tour was amazing. Our driver Patrick was informative and made it a smooth ride to the glacier. Once there we switched over to Peter who took us on the hike which was incredible. Worth every Penny. The tour ends later than advertised on Viator (Not the tour companies fault 😬), anticipate to get back around 5pm.

Lovely day

Ryan, our guide, was very personable and knowledgeable on many subjects. The transport van was very comfortable. The lunch stop was quite lovely and the seafood chowder was excellent. The scenery along the way was magnificent and the stops at the Exiting iceberg and the Byron iceberg were truly breathtaking. This was a great way to spend the day journeying from Seward seaport to the Anchorage airport. Overall, the tour was quite enjoyable.

A good tour around Anchorage.!

Interesting trip around Anchorage. We saw many things and especially loved the Sausage made from Reindeer. It took about 3.5 hours and was well worth the time and money. Our tour guide was a true eskimo and let us know it was ok to say Eskimo. I loved her personality and charm. Thanks for the tour

Gary was our guide and he really knows his stuff! The wildlife conservation center was interesting and I’m glad I got to see bears and moose. Plus Gary gave us some restaurant recs and we went to one last night. It was very good. We had walked by it several times and wouldn’t have tried it if Gary hadn’t said it was good

I rarely write reviews, but this experience touched my heart so much that I couldn’t not share it. What an absolutely extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime Alaskan adventure! From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by people who were genuinely kind, welcoming, professional, and full of positive energy. Every person we encountered went above and beyond, and it made an already incredible experience feel truly magical. Ashley was our driver, and we absolutely loved having her with us. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely wonderful to spend time with. She made us feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. Sam was our pilot, and I have to admit, I was nervous! But he was absolutely fantastic. He made the flight feel smooth, safe, and so much fun. I’ll never forget looking out at the breathtaking Alaskan scenery and realizing I was actually experiencing something I had only dreamed about. And then there was Maddie, our dog sled musher. She was AMAZING! She was so cool, so knowledgeable, and such a perfect match for us. We loved her energy and her personality, and you could truly feel the love she has for what she does. Learning from her and experiencing the dogs up close was something I will carry with me for a very long time. Honestly, the scenery was breathtaking, the adventure was unforgettable, and the entire experience was incredible—but it was the PEOPLE who made it truly special. Ashley, Sam, Maddie, and everyone behind the scenes: thank you for putting so much heart into what you do. Perfect Timing

This was a great half day tour that provided an overview of the natural landscape and Turnagain Arm and just the right amount of time at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Our guide Rina was friendly, knowledgeable, and super flexible for photo stops and logistics. The hotel pickup was a big plus and Rina was very communicative on arrival times to minimize waiting. If you only have a short time in Anchorage, or want to fit in a tour before an evening flight or after a red eye while you’re waiting for your room to be ready, this is perfect.

An Unforgettable Glacier Adventure

Alaska Helicopter Tours delivered a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. They picked us up right at our Anchorage hotel for the easy hour-long drive to the launch point, and the whole team was friendly and accommodating from start to finish. The flight out to Knik Glacier was thrilling — breathtaking views and an exceptionally smooth ride. Our pilot, Jake, was professional throughout and made sure we felt well cared for the entire time. Standing on the glacier itself was humbling. Walking on thousand-year-old ice and taking in the sheer scale of this 25-mile glacier left us in awe, and the crystal-blue meltwater streams were incredible to see up close. The return flight brought its own magic — we spotted a black bear, three moose in separate waterholes, and two white mountain goats along the way. This was an experience and a set of memories we'll carry with us for a lifetime.

Awesome day and great guides

We had a great time on our excursion. Kevin was a great communicator and prepared us well ahead of the trip. Day of, he was on time, had packed great snacks for us, and kept us informed of great info and history on the beautiful drive. We had time to grab lunch to eat at the site and bathroom breaks for those that needed it. The hike itself was great, and Sophie was an awesome guide. We learned a lot and loved our visit. It would be great to do it in winter.

Afternoon at Hatcher Pass

Our driver and tour guide Don was not only very pleasant but extremely knowledgeable about the places we were visiting. He showed up on time, and showed great care and concern for guests during the tour. The van was very clean and well stocked with bottled water and snacks. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Don as the tour guide.

A Memorable Night Under the Northern Lights

We had a wonderful experience on the Anchorage Aurora Tour and Northern Lights Photo Tour. Everything was well organized, and the experience felt very special from start to finish. Our guide, Erica, was amazing. She was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and very supportive throughout the tour. It was very cold (-18 F), but she still took great care of us the whole time. We especially appreciated the calendars and the hot chocolate, which made the experience even more thoughtful and comforting. She helped make everyone feel comfortable and did a great job guiding us during the photo experience. Her encouragement and professionalism really made the night even better. The scenery was beautiful, and the whole tour was memorable. We really appreciated all the effort that went into helping us enjoy the northern lights and capture great photos. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you have Erica as your guide.
