A valid alternative to the summit craters is the Etna excursion 3,000 meters. You go up by cable car up to 2,500 mt. From here begins the walk up to a lateral crater (Barbagallo at about 3000 meters). You will admire the recent lava flows (2021) until you reach the inside of a lava channel.
