One of the best food tours Iwe have been on. Grenado our guide was very engaging, and knowledgeable about the food and wine as well as porto. The combo of food was well designed.as was the route. If you are coming to porto for the first time prepare for hills. This tour was mostly level but porto is very hilly.

Informative & fun port tour in Gaia

Flavio was an excellent guide. He did not just give info but also asked lots of questions of us and worked to get everyone to really get in in tune with their own palate and preferences. Don’t be surprised that you will receive a lot of information first before the tasting begins. But there is plenty of time to taste and talk about the tastings, and a good variety although it would’ve been nice to have something besides just the rose port at the 2nd stop. Flavio also got everyone talking and laughing, which made it go by quickly, and was very candid in his opinions.

This was a full day wine tour and it was great! Our tour guide was Pedro and he was wonderful. Pedro shared a lot of wine knowledge with us on the way to our tour. He even gave my husband and I some suggestions of regions to stop and try wine on our roadtrip from Algarve to Lisbon. We visited 3 wineries. The first one was very busy and a little bit rushed, but the other two wineries were wonderful! At the second winery, it was very small and family owned. At the third winery, we got to have a sit down lunch. It was amazing! We got salad, soup, bread, red and white table wine, and there was a fish, chicken, and vegetarian option for the main course. I had the chicken and it was delicious!

A tasty introduction to Porto

Excellent food tasting tour of Porto. Our small group of 9 from the UK and USA were introduced to the food of Porto and what makes it such an awesome city to visit. We first went to a small local restaurant for green bean soup, bifana, and some cod croquettes. Accompanied by a glass of vinho verde. Delicious. Then we went for a Ginja - cherry liquor served in a chocolate cup. Purchased a few souvenirs in there. Next was Pastel de Nata and espresso in a coffee shop. You have to have a pastel de Nata when you visit Porto. So tasty. After that we visited a locally run shop serving wines, ports, spices, cheese and meats. Here we had a charcuterie board with meats, sardines, goats cheese, cheese, olives, bread, crackers, figs stuffed with walnuts, crackers. Wow. The sardines were so tasty we bought a few tins. Last stop was another locally run shop for port and dark chocolate. A brilliant way to spend 3 hours in Porto. A huge thank you to Helena our guide. This Porto port lodge tour was an absolute highlight of our trip and I’d highly recommend it without hesitation. What made it so special was the great variety — we visited three distinct lodges, from a small boutique producer with a fascinating operation and incredible wine, to a newer up-and-coming spot, to one of the grand old historic caves that really shows you the scale and tradition of port production. There was no shortage of wine to enjoy throughout, and the final stop even treated us to a lovely charcuterie spread to finish things off perfectly. Our guide Alex was absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely made the whole experience come alive. If you’re in Porto, this is a must-do.

Terrific lunch in Porto

Wonderful from start to finish. Was an interactive experience with terrific hosts. Started in the market obtaining ingredients for the meal as well as a great history lesson regarding food and the culture. The meal was a traditional dish with salted cod in addition to two different types of sausage and a super dessert. The wine was delicious. Our hosts were very friendly and professional. Recommend this experience for folks of all ages and backgrounds.
