"A Real-Life Journey into Middle-earth Magic"
A magical must-do experience! The Hobbiton Movie Set Walking Tour from Shire's Rest completely exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like stepping straight into Middle-earth.
The tour was beautifully organized, and our guide was fantastic-full of fun facts, behind-the-scenes stories, and genuine enthusiasm that made the whole experience even more special. Walking through the rolling green hills, seeing the Hobbit holes up close, and visiting iconic spots like Bag End was absolutely surreal.
Every detail is perfectly maintained, making it feel so authentic and immersive. Finishing the tour with a drink at the Green Dragon Inn was the perfect touch and really brought the whole experience together.
Whether you're a fan of the films or just love stunning scenery, this tour is 100% worth it. Truly unforgettable-5 stars without a doubt!

Glowing Glowing little worms.
It was a rainy day but we weren't bothered. The venue is well presented and naturally forms into its surroundings. The guides are fun and provide some great light heartedness to the experience. Our kids loved the guided tour and particularly the boat ride. As someone not fond of tight spaces (i am 6'1) i found once you get passed the first few metres there was no issue with space, i just needed to duck for a bit. Well worth the time! Interesting fact was to learn the worms use the same kind of venom as spiders to trap their prey.

Impressive
Cool boat or ship, farry or whatever it is i dont know boat titles, all I know it was really good. The staff was great and patient with all onboard. The drinks like hot chocolate that was served was really bad though but the muffin was good lol. The stone carving was impressive really big with the others ot the side of it. All in all it was a great and fun experience, I do highly recommend it.

A must do activity when in Rotorua
This was a real highlight of our trip to Rotorua. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. The insights gained into the Māori culture was fascinating. We also loved how interactive the evening was - learning the Haka, traditional Māori games and music. The food was also exceptional. It is an experience that we will always remember.

Stunning natural beauty
Absolutely magnificent. Boat is the closest (from what I could find) to being near the waterfall which was incredible. Definitely got wet (that was our choice to be at the front and
get sprayed). Captain lets you know.
Outdoor uncovered areas upstairs and downstairs, indoor heated seating areas, coffee, tea & biscuits provided. Running commentary from Roger however it was a little hard to hear most times. We saw some seals also. Doesn’t matter which part of the boat you’re in, they move the boat so everyone has opportunity to see regardless of where you’re seated. Was not full either which was great! Everyone was up and moving around to see different vantage points. Mother Nature at its finest! Pure & untouched beauty. Hubby wasn’t a fan of going but he and the kids loved it.

Best and most thrilling way to see the falls
Great fun - our driver (apologies, I don’t remember his name) was fantastic and made the ride as thrilling as possible despite the relatively short stretch of river used for the tour.
Plenty of spins and near-misses to keep the pulse rate up (and get us wet!) and the view of the falls from below was worth trip on it’s own.
A must-do in Taupo

Experience of a lifetime
Experience of a lifetime.
I was booked on a later flight but was contacted to ask if I could do an earlier flight as the weather might be worse later in the day. I was able to go earlier and had a brilliant flight with fantastic weather & views. (Great advice) Mark is a great pilot very friendly and professional.

A fantastic way to...
A fantastic way to experience the glacier. Extremely well organized. The flight takes about 4 minutes each way. We spent about 3 hours on the glacier on a sunny day. The hike was easy – about 1.3 km uphill, downhill, left and right. Beautiful and picturesque. Highly recommended.

Māori cultural evening in Rotorua
Well organised and informative all round experience. Set in the Mitsubishi village and run by Moari family, this has a beautiful bush and river setting with the food and entertainment in large tents on site. After the entertainment, after dark, there is a further opportunity to walk back through the bush and see glow worms in a natural setting

Awesome day on the ice
I had so much fun. Both the helicopter ride and hiking around on the glacier were awesome. Luckily the clouds held off. Zoe was a great guide. Even managing a child who was not easy to manage by any means.
Book an early time slot for less risk of clouds that can cause cancellations.

Amazing experience
I had an amazing experience with the 55 min helicopter ride, we had to wait for a while due to bad weather but the staff was helpful and booked us on a later ride on the same day. The landing on the snow was just too good and the pilot even helped us with the photographs.

Excellent flight and staff
Our 2pm flight was canceled due to cloud cover but the staff were able to put us on an 8am the next day. We had blue skies and wonderful conditions. It’s only a very short amount of time out of the helicopter, just enough time to get some pics and head back down. The flight itself was amazing, flying low over the glacier and up close to the waterfall.
