Wonderful Tour

Marco was very knowledgeable about Vesuvius. The hike to the rim of the volcano was awesome. We ate lunch at an excellent restaurant. Then we had a wonderful tour led by Paulo. He was friendly and showed us so much. I was able to really imagine the people walking around in their period dress going about their daily lives.

A fascinating tour

This was a very good small tour (there were about 12 of us on this occasion) each provided with a radio earpiece so we could hear Michael (Michele?), our guide, easily. It was really interesting how he conveyed an historical, cataclysmic event into a modern-day context. His interpretation of life as lived by the wealthy residents (with their impluvia, mosaics and frescoes) and the everyday citizens (with their public fountains and (many!) bars) was fascinating, as was his discussion of how ultra-modern technology is being used to help interpret antiquity. We cannot recommend Michael and this tour hghly enough. (On a side note, we were glad that, the previous day, we had visited the archaeological museum in Naples, where a lot of artefacts from Herculaneum are displayed. This enhanced our understanding and visualisation.)

Loved exploring Capri

This excursion was wonderful because we had so much free time in each location vs. following a guide around to specific places. Our guide, Michele, was fantastic about sharing the history of Capri and making suggestions for things to see and do both in Anacapri and Capri town. The blue grotto was not open unfortunately but instead we took a one hour cruise around the island which was beautiful. I would highly recommend this excursion if you enjoy to explore on your own.

Professionally guided unique tour

Very nice experience with a brand new boat, guide and skipper both very kind and attentive. Flexibility in booking was much appreciated too (changed the date 2 days before the event due to weather forecast). We spent 1,5 hours in Amalfi and only 45 in Positano which is smaller but very charming. If I had to choose that could ideally have been longer. Instead we were sailed to Nerano, to have lunch amongst locals. On the way back we saw the coastline of Napels and one of it’s ports.

You could make your own...

You could make your own arrangements to visit Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius, but this tour makes it completely unnecessary. They pick you up, drop you off and manage everything in between. You don't have to do anything besides show up and enjoy yourself. And I do not think you would have the same experience in Pompeii, particularly, without a tour guide--there is just so much to see and learn about. If you were there on your own, you'd probably just be wondering around aimlessly--it's pretty big! Lunch was also very good--homemade food you could smell from the parking lot.

Great tour guide Frankie!

Our tour guide Frankie was awesome! We were there early so he took us to the popular spots first to avoid the crowds. He was very knowledgeable and we loved all of his jokes. Things that Enjoy Pompeii Tour Group could improve on: 1. Just send a quick message the day before. In my experience with other tour groups, we have always gotten a message the day before. 2. Our pick up was at the Ramanda Hotel.. We stayed outside the hotel the whole time, but one of the employees from the Ramanda was basically telling us not to stand there And go to the bus stop because that is where the pick up is, even though there are several groups waiting for their van. When in fact we were standing the right place and was exactly where we got picked up. Maybe the tour group could just advise customers to stay away from the door so we don’t disturb the hotel. 3. Let customers know that there is bag storage at Pompeii in case you have to take your luggage. I emailed the day before asking if we could bring our luggage. They said yes but said we had to carry it through the tour. They never told us there was storage. They will not let you leave it in the van because the van does not stay there while you are visiting Pompeii. But overall we had a pleasant tour and would recommend the tour.

3 towns, time to explore on your own, great tour guide, book it!

We were looking for a small group tour with a scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast with free time allotted in multiple cities to explore on our own...and this did not disappoint! Our air conditioned mini-bus held 18 people and was small enough to maneuver along the narrow coast roads while giving all passengers excellent scenic views. Nima was wonderful...giving the perfect amount of information! We had 1 hour of free time in Positano, 2 hours in Amalfi and about 45 minutes in Ravello. The optional boat cruise was in Amalfi and I highly recommend doing it! It was 15E (cash) and 40 minutes and gave a sea level perspective of the beautiful coastline that is definitely worth seeing. I would have liked to have had more time in Positano but doing 3 cities in 1 tour is ambitious! You can shop or eat at a cafe, but it's hard to do both. That said, there are a lot of places for pizza, limon ices, etc so you can eat and walk. Something to consider....we had 2 people in our group with limited mobility and they needed to stay in the van in Ravello as it is all an uphill walk.

I wanted to share just how memorable our full-day tour from Naples was, covering Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, and Pompeii. Our van accommodated eight people, including our driver, which made for a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. What really stood out was how our driver went above and beyond to make the day special. A wonderful way to start a vacation!

Alexandra’s met us at the airport holding a sign with our last name on it so that it was easy to find him. The car was immaculate. He was an excellent driver, very professional and personable.
